The ebanez 5 string bass guitar ?? is a different beast playing it, its sound is unique, different tones, over all clean and clear not muddy, its light weight is a plus, I play different types of music, it pretty much fits all types, I it's sound

Beautiful top and finish. Typical high-end SR feel and playability. Because of the stainless steel frets, I’m sending this one out to a (very busy) luthier for its fret level and crown rather than doing it myself. So the action will be a bit higher than I want it until I can get it through their shop. The current SR electronics are great, especially the switchable mids. And the active/passive switch is a great safety. And the 15 piece neck is certainly interesting.

I currently own several basses (2003 Lakland 55-02, 1971 Fender Jazz, 2011 MTD Kingston 6 string, and a 2006 Cort Fretless 5). The reason is that each of these provide their own unique sound and features. This can be important if you play a wide variety of music styles.
I spent a lot of time carefully listening to Youtube sound clips and reading reviews of the Ibanez Premium SR2605 prior to actually making my purchase. I have now had my SR2605 for a couple of months and am incredibly pleased with its overall feel and versatility of tone control, especially the mid-range. It is a versatile bass which adapts well to my changing needs and has quickly become my favorite bass. It is also a very beautify bass with its own unique burl markings. I eventually decided to purchase from American Music Supply as they were the only store which allowed me to purchase the actual bass displayed (with its own unique burl markings) which would be delivered to me. In my opinion, the bass has proven to be well worth what I paid for it.
