Right out of the box, I have been playing this sleek beast all day. FedEx dumped it on my porch early this morning without ado, fanfare or nary a knock and I'm glad it wasn't stolen. There is some setup stuff to do, sure, but I don't think that matters in a review. If a guitar came to me without need of a tweak or two I would then become suspicious of aliens, or, grateful to aliens for their superior builds. Without setup, she was ready to go and I spent a good deal of tme experimenting with the active EQ and the power switches. The range of fat to skinny sounds and tones is very satisfying. Also, I'd like to note that I bought the surreal black fade and you know what it looks like? You ever go to the drugstore and they have this one piece of chocolate that's all fancy and like one bite and it's fifteen bucks? It's like that. I want to eat this tasty thing. In fact, if you ever find an Ibanez 370 in the wild and it has chew marks on it, send that back to me; it's mine.
I'm going to set it up, but I think I'm going to play it more first. It's built for speed and it might be the most comfortable bass I've ever handled.

My Bass came in and only was not damaged. I did have to go and get it aligned. The neck was way out of alignment. It was also dirty around the patch cord jack. Other than that it is a beautiful bass. I love Ibanez’s products. I do recommend this bass. Shipping was very fast. American Music makes it easy to get the gear you need and want.

This is my second bass guitar after owning a ibanez mikro 4 string and this was a huge jump up in quality and performance. Out of the box it was set up enough to be able to play after a simple tune but did need nut height adjusted due to buzzing on the first fret but was still playable. The finish in blue sapphire is amazing its flawless. Only upgrade I did was added hybrid slinky strings and raised the nut height. I am beyond happy with this bass guitar and AMS having payment plans makes purchasing even better. I will be buying a ibanez RG electric guitar next. Thanks AMS for getting this 33 yr old to finally take the plunge and purchase a guitar and learn!

Nice piece of work. Luv the slim neck since i have short fingers.Love the way u can tailor the sound to ur liking! Just make sure ur subs can handle the abuse of this bad bass!!!

The finish and color is awesome! It goes from a beautiful teal in the middle to an almost gorgeous purple blue to the outsides! I’ve had it around 2 weeks. This Ibanez bass looks and sounds awesome! It surpasses all I expected and is a great bass for the money!

I love it. The body is smaller and lighter than that most bass guitars, and the EQ adds some flavor to the tone.
That said, the bass needed some setup to become playable.
It shipped to me with all strings detuned 1/2 step (E-flat). I tune my guitars to E-flat, anyway, but all other guitars I've ordered from AMS were tuned to standard E. The neck bow was so bad that I had only buzz on the first fret for all strings. The string action was way too high, as well. Thankfully, adjusting the truss rod and saddles fixed the problems. However, a new player may not know how or want to do that.
Another annoyance is the 9V battery door. For some strange reason, not all 9V batteries will properly fit in the compartment. The cheap Ibanez-branded battery that shipped with the bass was a perfect fit. However, using other batteries (Energizer, Meijer-brand) will cause the battery door to bulge a bit, even when its latched closed.
Adjustments and battery aside, I can recommend this bass.

This bass sounds incredible and plays so easily. I have no idea why more pros don't avail themselves to Ibanez's sr series. It's also lightweight and tidy in its dimensions. The standard strings are much too floppy, in spite of their standard 45-105 gauge. But that's an easy fix.
