Product Rating Product Review I did plenty of research about this bass and found nothing negative about it; I decided to buy it and it exceeded my expectations. The sound is powerful and with plenty of eq choices. Well built, solid, and light weight, though it looks heavy. AMS easy payments, superb customer service and return policy make it possible to own this gem without sacrificing the wallet. Highly recommended.

THE TRAVELING BASS PLAYER's BESTFRIEND

I would undoubtedly consider this product to be well engineered and a very fine sound. Because it's so well crafted it is awesome in quality. Very Very dependable!!!!!! I love the EQs and the Berhinger pickups on this bass guitar. If I could add or change anything about this product is where the jack is plugged in. Most jacks fit but some others might not fit because it's not positioned on the outside trim of the bass guitar. The tone is fabulous!!! There's little to no feedback when played and it easily allows bassists to personalize the tone they consider to be rich. No matter the preset the tone is phenomenal. Because there's an awesome EQ on the bass (bass, treble, mid, pickup, volume) you can easily get the sound you want at your fingertips! The neck is pretty heavy but is somewhat inconsistent at the top of the neck. easily controllable while playing. You make it what you want!!!!! I was a little taken back about having an unfinished mahogany bass guitar but I realized it isn't anything that can't be sprayed down with special wood cleaner. I've been playing the Ibanez SR506 6 String for a while now and believe it or not this bass has the playability of the Musicman, Fender, or Ken Smith. The italian pickups from Berhinger makes it worth the money and it sounds sooooo clean. I tour globally and this is my bass of choice each and every time.

Solid bass

This bass is built solid and seemed like it would last. Nothing loose or flimsy. The preamp provides a lot of variety in tone selection. Elixir strings were nice. Sounded clean and resonant. String spacing is a little too close for me. I wasn't use to playing a six string bass, which may have been a factor. Variable fromdark and smooth to bright and crisp depending on the amp and bass preamp settings used. Nice, but plain

I have played fender, yamaha and peavy, this bass seems to be.my best one yet The mk1's hands down make this bass the monster it is, the eq just made it that much better Tone was just amazing, my band mates heard the difference It is so light, and once you get the hang of having the ne,k heavier then the body(which took like half a song for me) you will love it, the neck is thin which makes it comfortable the string spacing wasnt even a problem... However you want this bass to sound you get it, with the mk1 pickups and active 3 band eq Amazing, I didnt think I was gonna like it but, I easily fell in love with it Had to.set it up but the store did it free

A Great 6 String

Typical Ibanez quality, EMACULATE!!! This a is a great bass for the price. It feel's like a $2000 bass, but is has a $600 price tag. Perfect!! The best feature on this bass is the neck. Super thin and fast. It's very easy to play those fast chops. This bass sounds awesome. I was worried about the intonation on the high c, but those worries where exausted as soon as I played it. The only thing I dident like was the sound of the Elixer strings it came with. I slapped some DR High Beams on and now its perfect. This bass feels great. The thin body makes this bass very light and comfortable. The neck is insanely fast. All the controls are in perfect proportion with the bass, very easy to reach. SMOOTH!!! You can't go wrong with Bartoloni electronics. Stunning finish. The visible grain makes this bass look really good. Perfect, no adjustments needed.

WHEN I GOT THE GUITAR THE WEIGHT OF THE GUITAR KINDA WORRIED ME. IT IS SO LIGHT BUT YET IS MADE STURDY. THE BODY AND NECK ARE WELL MADE, ON MY GUITAR ANYWAY. LOL! Your general opinion of this product. BAD TO THE BONE NO QUESTIONS ASKED. FOR THE PRICE IT IS UNREAL IN MY OPINION. IT PLAYS BETTER THEN THE OTHER HIGH DOLLAR BASS GUITARS I HAVE PLAYED. I PLAY WITH A GROUP THAT WILL BE TOURING NATIONAL THIS YEAR. THIS BASS WILL WILL HOLD DOWN THE FORT! I CAN'T WAIT TO RECORD OUR NEXT NASHVILLE ALBUM WITH IT. THE WEIGHT TO ME IS LIGHT AS CAN BE. THE NECK IS FAST AND HAS A GREAT FEEL TO IT. THE NECK FEELS LIKE THE GIRL YOU LOVE AND CURL UP WITH! LOL! THE CONTROLS TO ME ARE EASY TO GET TOO. THE ACTION IS GREAT ON THE GUITAR. IT WAS SETUP RATHER WELL. THE PICKUPS ARE HOT IN THIS GUITAR. THEY WILL GIVE YOU WHAT YOU WANT. I PLAY THRU A HARTKE 7000 HEAD ALONG WITH A HARTKE 410 CABINET AND A HARTKE 15 CABINET. THE SOUND IS SUPER CLEAN AND THE LOWS ARE MEAN. THE GUITAR IS VERY PUNCHY THRU THE RIG. THE GUYS IN THE BAND SAY IT SOUNDS AWESOME. IT REALLY IS KILLER! LOOKED GREAT. THE LOOKS GET ATTENTION, BUT ANY MUSICIAN KNOWS IT IS THE WAY THE INSTRUMENT PLAYS ALONG WITH THE TONE AND SUSTIAN YOU GET FROM IT. THE LOOKS ARE JUST ICING ON THE CAKE! LOL! THE ACTION WAS SWEET. I WAS RATHER SUPRISED. THE INTONATION ON THE GUITAR WAS SET PRETTY GOOD ALSO.

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
this is a great bass, although i question finish quality the rest of the bass is really solid and straight forward.

FEATURES:
the best feature of this bass is the not so narrow string spacing and the super thin, yet solid neck. i personally would not add anything to the bass, it is really great.

EASE OF USE:
once you get used to the spacing and the funny feeling neck (i moved directly from a four string) it is not bad. the bartolini pickups and electronics are easy to use and give a wide range of sounds.

VALUE:
the product was well worth the price.

SOUND:
the bass sounds good for just about any style thanks to the wide range of tones you get from the bartolinis.

rock

MUSIC EXPERIENCE:
3 years

this product is a good buy if you need the extra strings.

A 6 String Value!

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
No issues with teh quality of me SR-506. It functions perfectly and is in excellent condition.

FEATURES:
The Bartolini MK1 Pick-ups and 3 band EQ work very well. I can acheive many different tones with this bass. The neck is solid and plays very well! The neck is thin from fretboard to the back of the neck and does take adjusting to imho. It has tight string spacing also, which I've adjusted to just fine in a short time.

EASE OF USE:
I've been playing about 25 years now so there were no problems with understanding how to use the instrument. It's a very nice instrument to play.

VALUE:
This bass is definitely a value. It lokks and plays as well as other 6 string basses that cost considerably more. I am considering buying another to defret for a fretless.

SOUND:
The bass sounds excellent. The Bartolini MK1's and 3 band EQ work very well. YOu can create many different tones with them suitable fo

Your general opinion of this product. I'm the current very proud owner of an Ibanez SR480 (this basses 4 string predecessor), and love my bass, but have been wanting to grow into a 6 string bass for a while. I can't speak well enough of my impressions of this instrument. If you want a fast, easy playing 6 string bass with great sounding electronics, and don't want to sell your firstborn to afford it, then this is your bass! I was worried about how hard a six string would be to get around after playing a four string. No problems!

Solid as a block of wood!

Your general opinion of this product. I had orginally wanted an sr490 series bass, but I was informed that the 500 series had just been introduced so I held off and got the sr506. Let me tell you, it totally blows me away! The finish is just gorgeous, there's nothing prettier than a natural mahogany finish. The neck is made from alternating layers of wenge and bubinga and the abalone inlays are nice and shiny. But the best part is that it sounds just like it looks! With the 3 band EQ and active electronics I can get almost any sound I desire, from a loud, clangy, almost distorted sound, to soft and subtle... and everything in between! The bass is quite light, although having it strapped on for an extended period of time can become somewhat discomforting. The neck although thin and easy to maneuver up and down, is a bit heavy, and if not supported will tend to drop toward the floor. Besides that minor concern, this bass freakin' rules!

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
I have owned many and still own fender for years . I can only say that this bass guitar is a wonderfully built beautiful bass guitar.

FEATURES:
The electronics are outstanding. This bass really cranks out the bass that every bass player and musician expects and then some.

EASE OF USE:
Even with six strings the neck makes this bass a real joy to play and I've played a lot of basseover the years.

VALUE:
Anyone who knows anything about bass guitars and musical instruments at all, would never expect a bass of this quility to sell for a price this low.

SOUND:
This bass guitar punches out lows from E to G, the high C is a real jewell and man the bottom that comes from the low B sixth string really thumps out the lows but oh so clean in the process. Better have a really good amp to handle the lows from this monster.

This was the second bass I purchased after playing bass for nearly 2.5 yrs. I've had it for almost a year and it has improved my style greatly. With such a wide range i can have the deep thundering roar of the bottom end bass. Or the higher smooth side for some of the more erie style songs that my band and i play. If you need an excelent sounding bass with wide range, easy control, and an affordable price, I HIGHLY recomend this bass.
