Product Review
I'm new to synths but I'm diving in head first. In the past few weeks, I bought an Arturia Microfreak, an Arturia Minilab 3 (not a synth but plays nicely), and then the Korg Minilogue XD to compliment everything and the Korg is my favorite, by far. First, I love the look of this thing. The faux wood back is a nice touch and the knobs and switches have a bit of a vintage feel. The keys feel nice to play and, finally, the sounds coming out of this thing are incredible. I have a lot to learn about synths so I'm sure that with time, I'll find some shortcomings with this but for now, it's super fun to connect all three and just jam out. You can get super spacey with when combining all of these devices together, which I really love. Overall, no regrets about buying this.

The xd is amazing out of the box, it looks good and it sounds really good. It’s very easy to add patches from downloads with the librarian software as well as creating your own patches directly on the machine. The arpeggios are sweet, the step sequencer is pretty intuitive, I’d rather have more than 16 step but it’s capable of some cool things. I opted for and totally Recommend the decksaver to keep it clean and protected when not in use. Yea this is a good synthesizer for sure.

Great first step into the synth world
By: Doyle B

Product Review
I'm primarily a guitar/bass player who has ventured into drums and keyboard in last few years. After playing on a Korg Krome EX for a while I decided to get a "real" synth. I considered the Monologue, the Minilogue XD, Minilogue Bass and the Novation Bass Station 2. After reading several reviews I decided to try the Minilogue XD and I am very happy with it. It has great pre set sounds and has endless possibilities of user created sounds. It has great sub bass sounds and nice synth pad sounds. Great for someone like me who is new to the synth world. I guess the only downside is the smaller keys, but after playing with
it for a few days I've gotten used to them.

Powerful synth of a small scale

Product Review
I wanted a small synth for use in making loop music. This lil guy really is all I need. The amount of sounds I can create with this is astonishing and it has a sequencer built in as well that is really easy to use. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for 25 key synth to add to their arsenal. You won't be disappointed.

Sorry,I know people were getting excited coasting on the hype about this synth. There's lots to like her, but I've had it 1 yr !/2 & a couple of the keys are on their way out>i haven't even really used it that much-wtf!I cover it when not playing, taken great care of it,but like one reviewer for another korg product sain 'Korg components are inferior nowv, just not what they used to be quality wise.

I just happened to come across this board at NAMM this year. This thing blew me away and I was sold within 10 minutes of tinkering with it. When I got it in the studio I was really able to explore this beautiful unit. The sound quality is top notch. Definitely my favorite synth right now!

Awesome synth for entry level or expert

Product Review
The Korg truly exceeded my expectations as a synth. It’s well built, easy to navigate and a blast to use. The only thing I will say is the keyboard is a little small, but nothing that makes it unplayable. Also, the joystick for the pitch modulation on my unit fell off, not by my fault of dropping it or Misuse, it just was not secured properly from the factory and that is my only reason for not giving the product 5 stars.

I cannot say enough good things about this synth. The only down side is that the keys are a little skinny but after a few weeks it didn't bother me anymore. The sounds are absolutely amazing! The sound bank has a tremendous amount of room for building your own sounds out. Has incredible depth and warmth. It also has a vintage style video game built into the unit which you can access and play during the boot/tune stage of boot up. Super fun rig!

The biggest little synth you can buy

I owned the “Original” minilogue so I’m familiar with the XD’s topography and logistics.
The XD takes some of the original synth features and blows it out the water. The thing I like best is user programmable features...nothing against the stock sounds which are sick.
This synth will not disappoint at its price point, in fact when you close your eyes you’ll think you are playing a full size full feature synth.
While writing this I was thinking of taking a star off my review for the one thing I don’t really like...the mini keys...thank god I center around a full size weighted 88 key controller because my fat sausage fingers can’t manage on those tiny keys. But the other features are soo hot I’ll stick with 5 stars.
Overall good buy, sturdy build, program easy.

My very first impression when just going through the first few presets is that this synth sounds AMAZING!!…..enough to find myself occasionally involuntarily saying "this thing is amazing"
The sound can be thick and full or metallic and edgy or a combination of the two.
Patch manipulation is incredibly easy and fun. The stereo effects are very nice - although the phaser is kind of week. Reverbs are absolutely outstanding!
I've bought and sold many synths in my time (as many keyboardists do) but this is a keeper!!

This is my first synth purchase after tryin a few out. I have to admit, I love it! The sound is amazing and the preloaded patches are great to hit the ground running. That said, the design of the synth makes creating your own sounds intuitive and is helping me learn the basics of synth quickly. Super satisfied with this instrument.

Impressive!. The best of the 3 "logue series" slammed together with improved effects and voice expandability. Absolutely in love with the motion sequencer. The XD is very light weight and easy to move around and appears to have a good build quality to it. The XD sits in front of a Eurorack well with it's sync in/out and two CV inputs for modulation expansion. XD seems to contain a large pallet of sounds from percussion to ambient pads to acid lines to FM and X Modulation.. It's a keeper....

Fantastic Synth

Product Review
We’ve been playing this a lot in the studio since getting it... the Minilogue is such a fun little synth to easily navigate and get some fantastically BIG sounds out of it. It sits right next to some big heavy hitters here and definitely holds its own. I find it’s kind of a current Korg “best of” in a miniature form factor. The arpeggiator is just phenomenal...so malleable, expressive and really the reason I got the keyboard version vs. the desktop... it makes getting to all the fantastic sounds and features so much more immediate. The YouTube videos really do the loaded sound set justice and the immediacy of tweaking those sounds in to your own for storage (plenty of open storage for this) is very quick, easy and so intuitive. The onboard sound effects is next level stuff for a synth... not endless, but will get you 95% of the way there every time. I don’t find the 4 note polyphony a limitation at all for big pads and certainly not for the arpeggiator. I love this synth... this would have been science fiction back in 1983 (!) when I started collecting synthesizers. AMS as always has been a great company to buy from.

This is my first Korg. I own several Moogs, a Doepfer modular system and all the well known soft synths. The Minilogue XD feels fresh and exciting. I look forward to sitting down in front of it and exploring ideas.
Heck of a deal for such a fun and great sounding poly synth.

Greatest 4 voice synth on the market

Product Review
It may just be my opinion, but I think this is the greatest synth with 4 voices that’s available. The sequencer, multiple oscillators, multi-drive engine and the effects section, give this synth an edge over others. I say this because the types of sound that are able to be created on this thing are by definition; unimaginable. These tools give the artist many directions to go and then many more directions to go from there. For instance I play keys to mix tracks, then use mixer effects because I use decks and a mixer on the sounds I create but someone that doesn’t want to use decks can use the same DJ mixer effects on this module; to suit their genre if it doesn’t want or need any DJ gear or mixer skills.

I was iffy if this would be a significant upgrade from the first minilogue; fortunately , it is most certainly an upgrade.
The third oscillator makes for extra lushness.
And this synth is 100% lush high grade sounding, and intuitive. Everyone who plays my minilogue wants to buy one after playing. : )
Happy customer
