Product Rating Product Review I seriously get stuck for hours at a time messing with this thing. At first I wasn't sure what to make of it. I purchased it because MOOG was recommended to me because of my love for old school industrial music and sound manipulation. I highly suggest this for anyone starting out with experimentation in sound. I can easily make a David Lynch soundtrack with this alone.

Product Review Although it is monophonic. I believe this bad boy is a winner. I am finally getting the chance to play like the big kids. It has definitely pushed my understanding on what is going on under the hood of a synthesizer tremendously. Great manual and provides a baseline and wonderful examples of some of the many sounds it can create. It has instantly earned a place to be permanently on my keyboard stand for a long time to come.

Product Review sounds incredible plugged into a guitar! this is my first mono synth and it has taught me so much about how to manipulate sound. the amount of control knobs let you fine tune your sound exactly how you want. great for the price and very mobile. you're gonna need 3/8 cables!

Product Review The range of sounds you can create is virtually limitless. You can spend a long time exploring just the pots before you even started to experiment with all of the patching possibilities. If someone is browsing this listing looking for a first synth, then stop here. Get something that you can use to learn real synthesis with and will allow you to grow into it vs something more limiting.

Product Review Has the classic MS-20 sound in a smaller package. If mini keys aren’t your thing you can supplement with a larger keyboard through MIDI. Patch board can be a bit daunting but lots of sample patches available online. Replica sounds faithful to the original.

Product Review I was hesitant to buy this because I usually only use original vintage synths. However, this thing kills! Awesome fat sound that is very consistent with the original MS20. It’s not quite as gnarly as the OG but for this price it’s a no-brainer. Great for bass, leads & weird sound FX noises. Can do percussion stuff as well. Also heard complaints about the build quality but so far everything seems really solid. The mini keys don’t feel as small as some of the other mini keys I’ve played. Buy it!

Product Review This synth rewards exploration. If your new to synths look up as many MS20 patches as you can, try them all and tweak them. Sooner or later you'll find a setting that gives you goosebumps; guess what? Now your stuck with it. The unit also rewards experimentation. Yesterday I got the wild hair to hook up my Beat Buddy drum machine into the external input, wire one of the outputs to the HFP input and turned on the drum machine. When I'd play a note it had an underlying heartbeat (provided by the Beat Buddy), it was dark, ominous and absolutely magnificent! Quick note: if you do some research you'll find some reports on noise through the headphone jack when a note is played. True, somewhat. Depends on the headphones. I get some noise with my Shure studio headphones, but not my new Fostek T50RP.

Product Review It's Got the Sound ! Used to dream about having one. could have bought one for a song when everything went digital - but the ones I saw in the pawn shops were pretty well knackered from use on the road. Ebay prices have always been just out of reach for a good one. Seems to be well made. two of the pots (portamento and one other) are a little stiff - not stick just tighter than the others feels like it might loosen up over time. The keys are ok - not cheap but typical of a mid-range product. Much better and bigger than normal mini keys. The jacks all seem to be mounted solidly and I prefer 1/8th inch to 1/4 inch format. Yeah - Sounds great out of the box - Prepare to get lost with all the patching options - Great fun - ! Don't worry about the Hz. / volt issue. Use midi - That's what it's for. If you must step sequence there are hardware options that send midi as well as volt per octave. Use your cv gear for filter's whatever. The External input is the best i've seen on any synth. You can trigger envelopes with out sending midi notes - You can process the signal with hi and low cut - pass through the processed signals envelope follower and frequency to CV signal, as well as generating a gate Balls - Grit - Bump - Pin Pricks, and Razor Blades - It's all there - It can be a little Touchy at times - but always rewarding. Although it can approach Moog-ness The filter is not as round and sweet. But then a Moog doesn't have the hi-pass either - It does so many things only an MS-20 can do - And the Ring mod is great ! It will be interesting to hear what they sound like in 10, 20 years. It's Ok. MUch better than standard mini keys. Yeah - Great deal for the price. AMS is the best place to buy korg - I had two Electribes with fiddly knobs and they replaced them immediately.
