I use this amp to practice using the .5 watt mode. It takes on pedals very very well. It's my go to amp when it comes to recording using the 5 watt mode. The cleans are the highlight of the amp. It may not be stage worthy but for at home it gives you that cranked sound without having to use earplugs.

The Laney L5 Studio Head makes the perfect bedroom amp.. You can set it on a 1/2 a watt setting and it still has the growl as if you had it turn up without anyone else in the house being effected why you practice your scales or learn a new song.. Perfect for my situation. Plus if you need to gig with it you can do that to the 5 watt setting is more than enough in a small venue.. Great little amp and craftsmanship very well built and it looks cool to.. I would buy again if I had the need to and from AMS their service was the best...
