First off, this is my first kit bought, I've always loved the sound of Ludwigs and this is no exception! When tuned up with new heads (the one's in the box were slightly warped, no biggie, to be expected from shipping) they definitely thump! They have a rich, bass heavy sound all around, not to mention the snare is nice a crisp and not to poppy, definitely good for some Bonham or even Mason style riffs! Now, the cymbal set, mine came with Zildjian ZBTs, are just an absolute treat especially for a beginners set, they have a full sound, and are very diverse in their ranges for what they are! The hardware was well machined and easy to use, as well as sturdy on the ground! My only gripe is the included bass pedal, but that's not exactly a gripe cause at least you get a decent enough one to learn and practice on with a nice and easy tension! All in all it is a great sounding, and good looking kit that I look forward to adding on to, definitely worth the investment, even if its just a dip of the toes into the water!

This kit is by far the best value for the money!!!!
3 of the biggest names in the drumming world comes with this kit! These drums sound great right out of the box! I couldn't believe this kit sounded so great for it's price! This kit is great for beginners, but also good enough even for pros as well! The Remo Clear Pin Stripe Heads give this kit a killer sound right out of the box. The kick drum crushes with a deep low end "Thump" The snare drum "cracks" and the toms are very responsive and attack! Plus all double braced hardware and the ZBT Cymbal Pack.

This set is amazing. I figured I would need to buy cymbals, throne, stands, separately from the drum set. But this setup includes everything but the drum sticks. Quality is superb which was a pleasant surprise. I figured to get a starter kit then upgrade as my skills improved. But I don’t think an upgrade will be needed for some time, maybe never.

This is a great 6 piece drum kit. Solid hardware, cymbals are great and not cheap like some complete kits come with. The toms and bass drums have a great solid tone to them. The only thing I changed on the kit was the drum heads. I installed Evans Oil filled black heads and the kit sounds amazing! Could not be happier!

We purchased this set for our 12 year old son. He set it up all by himself, and started rocking out. The blue sparkles brightly and he just loves it. This set is something he can play on for his entire life if he wants to! Out of all the sets we looked at this was the “one”!

This is my first set I’ve actually bought, I’ve played for a couple years on my friends and this set is amazing! Hardware isn’t cheaply made! Very good set of drums, would recommend for anyone learning how to play or already knows! The only problem I seen with this set is that it don’t come with instructions or sticks, might be hard for someone putting one together for the first time! Although you could call Ludwig and I’m sure they have a pdf they could send! Also the heads are not the best but they will do until you can afford to get a better set! Other then that this thing rocks!

Being a guitar player since the mid 1960’s I’ve purchased many items from AMS. Decided to take up drums and bought myself a set for my 67th Birthday. Did lots of research and AMS was the best value by far. Blue Sparkle was beautiful. Picture doesn’t do it justice. Thanks again AMS.

I'm very pleased with my purchase, I bought this Ludwig drum set for my 12 yo son. He's very happy with it, every single part came in in perfect condition...the shipping was faster than i expected too. As for the drum set, it is very easy to assemble, i had never touched a drum stick in my life, and i was able to put it together all by myself. It looks good quality and very nice black sparkly color. My son is a beginner playing drums...the "whole kit" (cymbals are included) was just perfect for him. Thanks AMS for your awesome customer service.

My soon outgrew his last set so I purchased this one. He's taken to it and its a very nice set. The only thing he would change is to have an attachment to bring the toms closer together. Other than that, it was perfect.

For getting a kit for anyone just starting out this is probably one of the best sets out there. Getting everything in one go and getting a feel of the instrument before making any large purchases is the best choice when it comes to this. Saving thousands on hardware and testing out sounds I recommend no other one. And in the future when upgrading is a necessary thing, changing out piece by piece is a great alternative than buying whole new kits/sets.

I'd say this is the best set for the money. Even with the cheap stock heads, the set sounds amazing. The hardware that it came with is some of the best I've seen. (I'm no pro, but I've played on more than a few sets). The only complaint I have about them is the feet are almost like plastic instead of the more elastic rubber I'd prefer. Also, it's worth noting that the color is not a solid black but rather a sparkly black.

after many years of not playing my wife surprised me with this kit.the quality is remarkable ludwig has not lost it, the look the sound the passion.great for the beginner to the pro. big band, jazz, rock & roll, and even if you want to BONHAM out.
the guys at AMS are the best, very helpful and knowledgeable. the shipping & the packing is the best everything arrived 100%.

Didnt really know what was a good set to buy my son because he said he wanted to learn to play. But my husband is really particular about things and him and my son just love this set. The acoustics on it are very good. The color is very nice, the set was very well made. Very well pleased with it. Staff was awesome and quick to handle missing drum sticks that came with it. They were very nice and shipped the drum sticks right away and got them quickly. I would recommend this place to everyone.

I have had many kits including a DW set in my 62yrs of life . I had a spinal cord injury in 2012 and sold all of my drums . I recently found the desire to drum again after recovering with some physical disabilities so I bought this 6pc kit in white sparkle . Hardware double braced and like the pinstripe heads that come with the kit . Even though it came with Zildjian ZBT's I can't complain . Hope in time I can get back to being a drummer in a band again . Love AMS payment plan .

Glad I got this kit,I almost went with the Tama set,but this one is just a little better in my opinion due to the pinstripe heads and zbt cymbals
Also 2 convertible boom stands,the tamas only have one boom stand,also the cymbals with the ludwigs are better than the meinls that come with the tama set.I've owned both brands.Bottom line is this is a very good kit,sounds great.Hardware is pretty good too.
