Product Rating Product Review The DLM 12 was recommended by a friend who's a very busy musician and sound man. It is a winner! Plenty of power and headroom and it's lightweight and can be used by itself, as a pair or as a monitor. Happy with my purchase!

Product Review Lightweight. Compact. Incredible, huge performance. Whether used with other speakers or solo at events this speaker does it all. Easy to use, and see digital read out makes getting optimal performance from this speaker super easy. The sound this speaker puts out is amazing. I have bigger speakers that don't perform as well. This one's a winner. Way to go, again Mackie!!!!!!

Product Review These speakers do it all! Can do a good size venue or just add some subs and your pounding it! The mobile Dj will appreciate its light weight and the booming sound.

Your general opinion of this product. I was very hopeful this active speaker would work for my Jazz Duo. I play keyboard split with bass and piano, sing, and use a tablet for backing drum tracks. I thought this unit would eliminate the need for a mixer and effects processor since they are built in and that it would provide a good sound for a Mic with reverb, a digital piano and a tablet in the RCA inputs for backing drum tracks. The menu driven controls were going to be a challenge to tweak sounds in live applications - so much for not having to carry a mixer. Bottom Line, Back to drawing board on finding a light, powerful -all in one - active speakers with multiple channel mixer built in effects that has the volume and tone to handle a 200 person gig. The product appears to be made well and sturdy. Its a little confusing at first dealing with menus and + and - buttons but I could see how it would get easier over time. Weight and size and multiple inputs with effects and EQ are the draw to this unit. There was a noticeable hiss with the unit on with a Nord stage 2 plugged in channel 1. The volume set on Mackie DLM12 at highest level "10" did not produce the volume I would expect from a 2000 watt amp. I have a JBL EON2 15 active speaker I sat next to it and the JBL sounded louder and clearer at half the volume of the Mackie DLM12. The Mackie tone sounded like too bassy and the piano sound it produced was artificial sounding to me. Mackie reverb effect did not sound of high quality to me.

So far after several practices and a couple of live gigs they are great. Well made and they look great too. Amazing sound and lots of volume even though they are small. The best feature is the sound because that is what really matters. But there are lots of other things about the mixer on the back that let you make the sound even better. Reverb and EQ and a bunch of other stuff I havent had time to experiment with yet. Super easy to setup and to use the digital mixer. I set them up and adjusted the mixer settings without reading the manual. I do need to read the manual because there are some things i dont undderstand (like why they have delays in 2 places). Plus I just realized they have ways to save your settings so once you have adjusted it to the way you like it, you dont have to do it every time you use it. Well our friends all say we sound way better through the new PA (DLM12 for tops and also we use 2 of the DLM12S subs). For practice we use them as monitors and things sound much better compared to the old peavey pa. Your general opinion of this product. DLMs work great for monitors and for main PA speakers. I have spent more time with the DLM8 as my drum monitor, but the other guys in the band love the 12" as a monitor for practice and our live shows sound better than ever.

Exceptionally well made 2000 watts Great sound Digital Mixer Ultra compact Your general opinion of this product. Mackie’s new DLM12’s are the amazing. I bought a pair of them and couldn’t be happier. I’ve been using them, in conjunction with the DLM12S subwoofers and it’s truly remarkable the sound that comes outta this super compact system. They have tons of power (8000 watt system) and they are unbelievably simple. For small gigs, this is the perfect rig. I’m looking forward to adding some DLM8’s to use for wedges. Oh, and for rehearsals, we just use the top boxes (no need of the subs at low volumes with just vocals going through).
