Product Review Mixing, automation, plug-in cut past. I use pro tools the integration is seamless, easy set up and install. This MCU is expandable up to 32 faders. This is only for the serious recording studio or if you want to have every Daw function at the tip of your fingers in a home studio like i do the MCU is the way to go. You hit a button a the mix screens pop up, hit another button and the edit window appear you have a deeper controls plugins pop up on tbe fly, save mute solo and undo buttons. I personally suggest that you try the MCU you get 45 days to return it however i do not believe you will. More control will make your music better.

Product Review I've had my Mackie Control surface (MCU) for several years and I use it primarily while recording in Propellerhead Reason. No matter how many times I've asked Mackie for the Lexan overlay (as it doesn't come with the five already pkgd) so that I may operate the unit more efficiently with my DAW, I never receive it! The last time I reached out, I was told that it was no longer made. Also, I've noticed that this control surface is still the exact same price that I paid nearly 8 years ago but Mackie no longer manufactures it...?? I do it use it in basic mode primarily when I'm recording myself and my computer is out of reach. I'd love to use it in its full capacity.

Product Review I am absolutely LOVING this control surface. Having cut my teeth in the analog world, growing up on faders, and pots, and then eventually growing into the DAW world flying by mouse, this has increased my workflow nearly exponentially. I use it with Cakewalk Sonar Platinum. Installation, and setup were a snap, and operation is straight forward and intuitive without a steep learning curve. I wish I had drank this Kool-Aid years ago.

Product Review I don't know where to start... I love it to death!!! I am using it with Protools 12.5 at them moment. It really gives you a old school analog feeling back to the digital world. The best feature I like is you can control your plugins via the V Pots or by Faders. Not to mention not having to use a mouse for other then labeling your tracks!!!

Product Review The Mackie MCU Pro certainly has an intimidating number of features, but it is very simple to set up (at least on a Mac). Plug and play operation; instantly recognized by Logic Pro X and Ableton Live 9 with little or no configuration. While the advanced features will require a learning curve, I was able to get started immediately and find I will be more productive. The faders are not completely quiet but are certainly better than ones I've used in the past (Digi 002). Highly recommended.

Product Review Since I started using this controller with my DAW, I enjoy the process so much more! It is much more efficient than dragging a mouse which I have always hated. This is much closer to putting your hands on an actual analogue board. It's very easy to program and is plug and play-doesn't require drivers. My DAW recognized it immediately and I was up and running right away.Very nice and highly recommended!

Product Review I am 100% happy with the Mackie controller so far. It works perfectly with my Studio One 2 software. It weighs much more than I expected it to and is larger than it looks in the pics. It feels like it has been built to last and has taken my home studio to a pro level feel and look.

Better than the Avid's 'Artist Mix'

I used a similar product(Avid's Artist Mix) for about a year before switching to this product. This product is much more solid and sturdy, and the faders feel much better to my fingertips. I love having the control surface and transport functions built into this 8-channel mixer. I use this with Protools and it was super easy to setup. Your general opinion of this product. I love using this unit to mix all my projects in Protools, I can't imagine not using it. This is a great product for the price! It's much less expensive than the Artist Mix, has more features, and has been much more reliable! I love the way this board sits on my desk, and the way the display screen on the unit faces toward me.

SOLID!!! Heavy-duty metal construction! Buttons feel nice. Jog wheel is metal and spins very smoothly. The MCU Pro is perfect all around. 100mm faders moved very smoothly. V-Pot knobs a great. Use for panning and plugins. CAN CONTROL AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF TRACKS ON YOUR DAW!!!! Most of the other controllers in this price range control up to 64 tracks. If that is what you need, this is it. Easy!!! Just turn it on. The software built in already syncs itself to whatever program you are using. While running Reason and Sonar whenever I go from one program to the other the Mackie follows along with me. Faders jump and settings automatically change with no problem. Mackie also gives you different layout cards to set over controller that show you exactly what functions are for each button for the DAW or other program that you may use. At this price it is worth it, considering that a lot of consoles on the market charge $600-$1200 a channel to add Penny + Giles faders, it is a steal. Like the new appearance. Like it better than the older black controllers.
