For a little amp head, this thing rocks! Doesn’t take up much room and it’s loud. The tones you get are outstanding and the price is right. If you’re looking to just have fun at home this is the head for you. Thank you AMS as always for your plans to make owning your dream gear a reality.

Product Review
This head is the perfect head for playing gigs! The sound is amazing! The clean channel is great, the dirty channel is 100% Marshall! The onboard digital reverb is weak, however with a good reverb pedal patched into the effects loop it doesn’t even matter. Also. Very important. Connect a good clean boost pedal at the end of the effects loop and you will get a good clean boost for solos on BOTH the clean and dirty channels. You’re welcome ??

Product Review
The head through my marshall 1936a 2x12 cab wasn't my cup of tea. Plenty of volume. However using a digitech rp1000 in front and 4 cable wasn't good.I tried both. For me the clean channel was adequate as a stand alone. Possibly if you add a pedal or to into the loop could be nice. With the digitech it couldn't be cleared up. The signal was very distorted. The lead channel is o.k., however people have called it a fizzy distortion. To me it was more of a scratchy sound. Kind of like a fuzz pedal sound. I like a tighter more precise drive channel. I see how this amp could be great for certain guitarists. Not for me. I need versatility to do any style and tone.

Wow this thing is an absolute ripper. I'm currently using it to push an Orange 1x12 with a vintage 30 Celestion and FINALLY I can hear what this little cab can do. I can pull tones from Metallica to Deftones and everything between. Clean channel breaks up pretty quick into a nice fat chunk. Red channel though... wow is it hot! Handles pedals well in both the front and the effects loop. Currently running a Friedman BE-OD Deluxe and Boss GE-7 in front, a Boss Dd3T in the loop and a TC Electronic Sentry Noise gate using the 4 cable method. Sounds great at bedroom volumes (around 2) and absolutely SCREAMS when pushed. Easily gigable and lightweight.
Not in the description but this does come with an included all metal foot switch to control channel switching AND effects loop, and a speaker cable along with the power cable
An absolute affordable slayer head. ZERO REGRETS.

If you want to add greatness to your sound this amp will be the one. Great for clubs or studio. With the versatility of 10watts or 20watts you can choose the right setting for the environment you are playing in. It definitely has the legendary crunch that Marshall is known for at a reasonable price!

Product Review
Great Marshall tones come from this little beast. Loud enough to play the bar scene and not get drowned out by the bass player. The crunch is great vintage tones and boost takes takes you out to metal sound. Love it straight out of the box. Does it pedal? Yes it does. I have 5 of my faves in line to get the sounds I love. It does get noisy if you go past 7 on the boosted gain channel but I use a pedal to keep it under with better results. Can’t go wrong with this purchase.

20 watts of fury, don’t let that number fool you. It’s a great fiery beast that sounds devilishly wicked. Folks hate the tone shift but if dialed in right you’ll find sweetness. I’d recommend it if you’re a metal head or rock n roller. Such a sweet little beast!

Product Review
I have had it for a week and love it. It goes from super clean to full on metal overdrive. Price was good---delivered quick. Seems well built enough. The only thing I would change is to give the clean / classic channel some crunch so i could go from a light crunch to a heavy lead sound when switching channels because the clean channel is clean even when fully cranked. The DSL100 has a crunch option on the clean channel so it would be nice to have it here as well. But you can use the ultra gain channel and use the guitar volume to clean it up etc. I assume the clean channel would take pedals well from other reviews I have seen. Overall it rocks and gets really loud. Gig-able I think. Highly recommended.

I have a DSL40c and loved it so much I bought a MX212AR Cabinet and matched it up with the DSL20HR head. NO REGRETS! Loving it. Great Marshall tones even at low volume but has enough power to rattle the walls. At 20 watts, you're not going to be doing arena shows with it ;) but its more than loud enough for any home, studio or small venue.

Product Review
I have been using Marshall Amps since the '70's. I had a 100-Watt Plexi that got Beautiful tone, but you had to turn it WAY UP to get it. I have (and still use) a Marshall TSL-60, which got beautiful clear and overdriven tones, but STILL pretty loud. I just got this DSL-20 and tossed it on top of a Marshall 2X12 cabinet, and within ten minutes I had gorgeous, thick overdrive ala Cream or Gary Moore at a reasonable/indoor volume! I have never gotten an amp for this low a price that could actually hold its own for small venues or home rehearsals. If it holds up well, this this will be worth it's weight in gold! E. R. Awesome amp! I was initially torn between the origin and the dsl and I’m glad I went with this.
Super versatile with the two channels (although I am used to single channel amps, and may have leaned more towards the origin if I didn’t already have other vintagey single channelers)
Amazed at the value for the money with these though. When I was learning how to play and starting to play in bands, it was either an expensive jcm2000 or a solid-state MG if you wanted a Marshall. I wish I could’ve had one of these back then!

I LOVE this amp! I've been lugging around heavy Marshall amp heads since the 60's. This amp has the Marshall "thump" just like the big boys without the weight. I love the fact they use my favorite power tubes, EL34's, not those less powerful EL84's. The Ultra Gain side is a cross between a DSL and a 900. The controls are amazing with lots of different sounds. The Classic Gain sounds like an old Plexi! Fantastic amp! I highly recommend it!

This is not perfect but for the price it is a good amp. It was super loud until I paired it with an orange 2 12 cab. Now I have it on high power at half volume and it is above bedroom volume. I am able to make this thing sing. I replaced the power tubes with Mullards and I had some tubes from my vintage 1979 ampeg that I pulled and replaced position 1 of the 12ax7. Before it was good, but with these changes it’s great. I play anything from blues to 90s rock and beyond. This is a very versatile amp. No complaints for the price.

Product Review
After trying out the Origin, this DSL gives me exactly what I was looking for. I really like how I can get the clean channel to just barely break up with the gain cranked. You with single coils, you ay not even get it to break up if your pups are weak. The drive channel sounds great to. On most amps that I have owned, you either get a good clean and crap drive, or the other way around. I really like the dirt channel on this amp. You can get it a nice bluesy drive, or crazy, heavy crunch. I really don't even need a dirt pedal, and with the included foot switch, it is easy to jump back and forth between channels. I have had no problems with having just one EQ for both channels. Get the EQ set up on the drive channel and bridge pickup, and when you switch to the clean channel and neck pickup, you should be fine. i am still getting to know this amp, but I really like it so far. I can get pretty much any tone I am after using just the amp.BUT!.Toss a Rat in front and watch out, great stuff!

Product Review
For a 10/20 watt amp, I was surprised by the loudness of this thing. Especially running it through a 4x12 cabinet. Clarity of frequencies coming from this amp cuts thru drums, bass and vocals during live rehearsals. The Classic Gain channel has that sort of AC/DC tone if cranked at high volume sounds nice smooth classic Marshall Gain can be achieved using this channel. You can also cut back on the Gain and use it as a clean channel. The Ultra Gain channel is awesome. You can literally plug straight into the amp and get a great rock/metal tone using the ultra Gain reminiscent of Randy Rhoads. If you are a musician looking for great tone for rehearsals and gigs, I would highly recommend this amp. The price is well worth it.
