The JCM 900 is Marshall's best amp or high gain hard rock and metal and it has been somehow overshadowed by the JCM 800 and DSL 100. I've owned the JCM 900, DSL 100, TSL 100, JVM 410, and the JCM 900 is the best one. I haven't owned the JCM 800, but I've played through one and I did not like it at all, it's weak af. If you want badass sound in your metal band, JCM 900 will melt your god damn face off! The second best was the TSL 100, probably one of Marshall's least popular and underrated amps. The DSL was probably the worst sounding amp I have ever played though; it sounded like hot garbage with the lows mudding up the signal.

I got the original from the 90s and it's never needed repair. Only a dust issue once in the knob. SO use a dust cover. It sounds just as great today as as it did new. I live it. I had the 800 for 10 years love but needed a dist pedal on it to get great metal tone. The 900 has all the dist and gain built in already. It's a life time partner for me. Just a great amp. It's my favorite amp out of 9 amps I own. In my opinion it's the best out of the jcm series.

I believe over the years, that the JCM 900 hundred what he had has gotten a bad reputation. I was truly in love with the clarity in clean channel.
The overdriven channel is very warm, and the tone was great.I can truly see why Dave Navarro truly loves this amp.

I got a 4100 Dual Reverb 900 in 1996, on the brilliant recommendation of a sales rep who knew his amps
This amp is beautiful, powerful, tough and hard as nails. I love Marshall 6l6gc tubes. This amp does clean, crunch, burn better than anything i’ve ever heard.
It is a true legend- buy yours while they’re still available.

I love this amp. When I plug it in it fires up like a Boss! it’s got the sound, the punch, and the power that I’m looking for with my sound. It is number one in my book without question!
