This head is well worth the money. All that Marshall tone from clean to l no full blown high gain distortion and everything else in between without having to stop and adjust for what you want at the moment like the old single channel amps. Two channels with three gain modes each and controlled by a foot switch you can switch between crystal clear clean and every other variant of crunch and overdrive you could possibly want. This head is extremely flexible. And the Cabinet emulated XLR line out is the feature that sold me on this head when I was down to deciding between this particular head and one other similar head from another brand. Being able to Silent Record or go straight to the board without having to mic the cabinet is a very important feature for me because of the need for total isolation while multitracking. And this amp has such a BIG sound, even when turned down to a sensible level it just sounds so big and rich. Even at the highest levels of gain it doesn’t lose definition like some other high gain amps do. Marshall also figured out how to get a 100 watt all tube head to sound “Right” without being so loud that you care half the neighborhood away and lower everybody’s property value. It holds its tone even turned way way down. That’s impressive. And it’s still loud enough to knock ceiling tiles down if you need that kind of power. And yes, cranked way way up it holds its tone and definition.

I had almost given up on my search for the perfect head. I’ve purchased and returned several Mesas, PRS, Victory, Orange and EVH heads. They all had certain things I liked, but also lacked something. I was never a Marshall fan just because it seemed like a trendy boutique amp. I now see why. As soon as I plugged it in I was floored. The clean is sparkly and bright; the edge of breakup on the overdrive channel is so satisfying. The warmth and roundness of the tone with this head is just plain amazing. It is everything I want in a head. It goes from blues, hard rock all the way to metal. It fills all the voids. I’m a true Marshall fan now. If you haven’t tried it, give it a chance. You won’t be disappointed.

I've had this amp now for about 4 months and the more I play with it the more tones I find. It's great for metal, of course,but also blues and blues /rock too! Works great with my Helix and other pedals. This is pretty much the bast amp head I've ever owned.

I have been an active gigging musician for over 10 years. My main amp head prior to this purchase was a JCM 900 which I love, it is one of the best amps I have played however it was missing the versatility I need. Thanks to the payment option I always buy through AMS now. I bought this amp not expecting much but my God what a beast it is. The effects loop works extremely well, my effects come to life with this amp. It has more than enough gain for my needs. One of my favorite features is the resonance and presence knobs, they drastically affects the sound and allow me to dial in my perfect tone. Love the fully programmable footswitch too. I have used this amp for almost all my gigs all this year. I wish I would've used it in every gig. I'm playing through 4 Celestion Vintage 30 speakers.

Without a doubt the best money I have ever spent on an amp. The tones straight out of the box are unbelievable. This is the first time I have played a live gig, using only my delay pedal as an effects, and was happy with the overall sound. Combined with the 1960A cab, I know the tones will only get sweeter with time. Well done Marshall, I am now a die hard Marshall only player

Marshall always has nice quality and this product is no different, in my opinion.

I have had TSL's & DSL's. This is the best and most versatile amp yet! From clean that comes close to Fender all the way to completely saturated distortion, it has it all.
Feels sexy!
Tone, tone, and more tone. Can't say it enough! This paired with my Gibson SG...heavenly!!
