High Performance Playability

Product Rating Product Review The ooo28ec "Eric Clapton" design in my view has the playability, and sound of vintage instruments. The shortened-scale of these 00028 designs is actually the main luthier's intention in making this guitar's playability what it is, i.e. the string tension with less pressure when applying notes to chords; The shallower thinner body opposed to the dreadnaught and narrower in width brings the body closer to the player. The 24.9" scale length is very comfortable playing stringed instrument. Thank you and have fun playing, like I say play the tough stuff and learn more. Stay creative and improvise to the fully note possible. Soundwoods

Product Review The overall intonation, quality and Martin traditional looks and sound of this guitar are wonderful. Of course, with EC giving advice in the making of this beautiful guitar didn't hurt. The signature model name doesn't bother me one bit because its been one of their best sellers for a few decades. The staff was helpful with a delivery issue and arrived a few days later. I would buy from then again.

Product Review I have been playing guitar for over 40 years and have always loved the sound of Martin guitars. I prefer a "V" shaped neck which is rare these days. I decided to finally purchase a Martin, and decided on this model to get the modified "V" neck. The action and feel are outstanding, and the sound is everything I would expect from Martin. The details and finish are exceptional. I have several guitars, and this one just became my go to acoustic.

Product Review This instrument is beautifully crafted, with a wonderful neck and action, and is just plain comfortable to play! This is my second 00028EC, and I've had this one about a year. There is absolutely NOTHING to dislike about this guitar, and it exceeds expectations in every way. Sound (volume, balance, projection, sustain) is downright "otherworldly">

Product Review I have owned two now and this model has all the appointments that are added by experience, trail and error by one of the greatest acoustic guitarists to date. Very well balanced tonality, smaller tight narrow body pulls the treble notes out, yet gives you the punch needed so you can dig in when needed. The slightly extra string spacing is great for those solo runs. Noticeable lighter pressure required to play barr chords. The reach you playability with the shorter scale make playing to me so much fun, and just naturally will pull out that creative musical talent that has been their all along. The Martin Geib style case is built to help protect that investment for decades to come. Have fun!

Product Review This is truly a professionals instrument. The 000 body size being smaller than most guitars makes it a joy to hold & play. Don’t let the smaller size fool you. The tonal quality and dynamic range that this little guitar boasts is something to be experienced. The V shaped neck is one of the specifications that Eric Clapton insisted on, making these EC models unique from the standard Martin 000 28 and is a most welcome addition to its ease of play. That and a very low action will keep you cradling this guitar for hours and you won’t come away with sore fingers. Pair it with the Martin Clapton’s Choice 41MEC12 Signature strings and you’ll be playing it setup exactly as the master himself does. Aesthetically speaking it’s a stunning instrument that has clean lines constructed with exotic tone woods making it not only a joy to play but a feast for the eyes. This is a guitar you’ll keep forever!

Product Review Aside from being visually stunning, this is one of the most tonaly balanced guitar I've played. I own many acoustic guitars. I have Martins, Gibson and Taylor by far this is an excellent example of good old handmade American craftmenship. Most notably is the shape of the neck, so comfortable and playability that is unparalleled TRY THIS ONE OUT

Product Review I have waited ~years~ to purchase this particular Martin....as an owner and Martin devoted player, this is the working man's holy grail. I have other Martins, of course (D35, 00015M, DC-16RGT, 000CXE, Bunch of Little Martins, etc), so this one has been missing....WOW! What I have been missing....kind of like anything luxury, you don't know what you were missing and can never go back....I make receiving a new guitar a ritual of sorts...I carefully open the case, take in the new wood and finish aroma and enjoy the experience that you can only get once from each new guitar. This sounds very weird to some, and it probably is, but it is a part of my routine none-the-less. The quality and finish are the best I've ever experienced, but this is really just standard for the Martin experience. Everything is as it should be....perfect. Now this 000 rests a little easier for casual play or noodeling...the most striking feature for me, among all others, was the neck shape. A little more curved and chunkier, but in a great way...again, not knowing what I had been missing. The weight of this beauty, spot on. Very, very clear and pronounced across all spectrums....can hang with the D35 but cleans up in all else, hence the most versatile...the tone woods really shine and instantly you know why this was worth the wait....finger pick or strum, your at home. Perfect. Absolutely, in the words of Ferris Bueller...."If you have the means, I highly recommend one, so choice". Perfect, will have to have set up a bit after some break in time, but out of the box even....heavenly.

Your general opinion of this product. Great Guitar with a huge sound for its size. Superb balance between upper and lower range. The neck and action are wonderful. Did require some setup work, a little buzz and dead places in the scales. I pound a guitar with huge strums and delicate inflection and this one handles it well. If you want a smaller shape with big sound you've got it. Check out the non-signature version too
