I bought 4 of these things for setting up some phone camera's to capture video. They are awesome and work great! I had several xtra mic stands around and rather than buying a bunch of expensive tripods I got these and put my mic stands to use. What is really cool is that you can mount a phone/camera on a mic stand with a boom arm and you can create some fantastic footage that would require some very expensive gimbals or jib arms. Using just a regular mic stand you get a very stable replacement for an expensive tripod.

These adapters are well build and quite hefty. I was worried that the locking mechanism (ball and screw type) would not stay locked but I have had zero problems.
This was a good investment. I'm glad I bought 2 of them.

This will free up floor space from you camcorder tripod in tight quarters like my 8x10 room I shoot video in for "The Gospel Guitarist" channel on YouTube. I just attach it to a desktop mic stand and it works great. Very well built, all steel. Should last a good long time.
