Product Review Quick set up and breakdown. We bought this for the studio to put the hydrasynth on. I was amazed that it was so easy to assemble, and take apart. I was able to modify the stand to a different configuration with my portable drill to suit my situation better. The Z legs were facing the front, and We needed them facing the back. We drilled 2 drill holes in there it was the perfect stand. I would encourage anyone to buy this. It is very sturdy and will easily hold my 88 key master controller.

Product Review It is a little overwhelming to put together at first, but the instructions are clear. It adjusts easily, but beware. Make sure you understand exactly what is going to move before you untighten any screw jacks and remember that one side will easily move independently. I know this because I was rushing to setup one day and had a brain fart. What I thought was going to be a minor adjustment turned into a heart stopping moment.

Product Review I love the quality of every piece of equipment I’ve ever ordered from AMS site. Since I’ve discovered AMS I’ve not used another site for my musical purchases. This stand is durable and I love the fact that it can be adjusted to different heights. The z shape makes this the perfect stand. If you don’t have one you shouldn’t order this product. Awesome!

Product Review Been playing keys for over 40 years.. I’ve purchased every stand created..this stand is by far the most impressive stand ever..talk about heavy duty, my 88 key on the bottom shelf and my Hammond on top... the stand doesn’t wobble.. and the ability to adjust every aspect of the stand both vertically and horizontally is incredible! I can tell this was designed by a keyboard player.. couldn’t be more happy with this stand!

Product Review I've been needing a piano and synthesizer stand for quite some time. I saw this on AMS website and ordered it. After we got it setup I realized this exactly what I needed. Construction is top-notch, I'm also a welder. I noticed on an earlier review that they had broken a weld, that must have required some amazing abuse because these welds couldn't be better. This is a professional-grade bit of kit for your studio. Thank you AMS!

Product Review The first time I disassembled the stand 2 welds broke. Where the two pieces came together the welds were only on one piece with a small tack well on the other piece. This is my second disappointment from AMS. Now I'm not sure about ordering another amp for the churches I play for.

Product Review Although the onstage to tear folding Z keyboard stand is a spinoff from a come heating company, it goes to show that one doesn’t need to spend twice or three times the money to get the same quality! recommend it! Pros: - Affordable - Metal frame - sturdy - Adjustable - Works well with most keyboards and controllers Cons: - none considering the price

Heavy Duty! The Real Deal

Product Review I gig with a vintage Kustom 88 stage piano. If you are at all familiar with these you will know what I mean when I say this keyboard stand can definitely hold the heaviest keyboards you throw at it (short of a chopped B3. But who knows, maybe it could do that too). I'm a bit of a vintage keys nerd, and I gig with my vintage gear. The thought of a keyboard stand collapsing with my gear on top of it is the first thing I had to consider when shopping for a keyboard stand and this does not disappoint. Also, for being so heavy duty, it sure does have a small footprint. Incredible value.

Best for playing while standing, not while seated!

By: Greg from Seaman      Submitted: 4/20/2013

4 people found this review helpful.

The general build quality is very sturdy however, there are several annoying design flaws. The center of gravity is too far toward the player - especially when the stand is in it’s lowest position for playing while seated. The stand tips forward very easily even when keyboards are in place for balance. Also, your legs will bump into the double cross-member support when seated. The bottom of the “Z” is easy to trip on (be careful!) and the second tier arms are not adjustable forward and backward. This is especially bothersome if you like your keyboards close to each other vertically. You won’t be able to reach or see controls, etc on the bottom keyboard and your hands will hit the top keyboard while playing the lower. Can hold fairly large and/or heavy stuff. This stand is not very quick to assemble and disassemble. Knobs galore, I count 15! Lots of parts to keep track of - and lose. "X" type stands are much easier to deal with. It don't make no noise - or it's not supposed to anyway. Your general opinion of this product. Sturdy but not very versatile or practical. The only action I'm aware of is that it tips forward too easily. Honestly, not really.

My Second One!

Built like a tank--weilded, and even rock solidly steady on carpeting. Best feastures are it's the VERY stable with no worries of tipping over, even when bumped--try THAT with an X-stand! Although it's fairly adjustable, like others, I really would like to see the second tier have an adjustment of forward or back. I already owned one in my set-up so it was definitely easier to just use that for refereance as the instructions really could be better. My cat makes white noise when hissing at it, seeing yet another new thing going up~! Your general opinion of this product. Well, so great I added a second one and own other On-Stage Stands Gear as well--it's all made very rock solid! Easy Incredibly great bang for buck considering it's protecting equipment 40 times price of stand.

Made pretty well. Still, the 2 main parts (the Z's) dont seem to line up exactlly. A problem every stand ive ever bought seems to have these days? Great design! No wobling boards!! This is my only real problem with this unite. I work in a road group so space is very important. I bought the gig bag for the stand and you have to completely break the stand down to put in bag. A bit time consuming, and a drag when everyones trying to load up and out to next gig. Well, was easy to put together. Yes! The most stable stand ive ever bought. X stands and tripods are not this sturdy.

the quality is good, this stand will support a lot of weight and wont wobble much if at all the best features are the two levels of adjustable tiers that you can configure to your liking theres a lot of knobs and it can be a little difficult to adjust. Even when collapsed, its awkward to carry NA it takes a little assembly, but no problems Its hard to find a quality double tier stand for such a low price

Excellent quality of materials and construction. I would like to see forward and backward adjustability of the second tier. Still has a lot of stage assembly although it is very portable and compavt for moving. If you hit it with a drum stick it plays a Bb note! Don't try to assemble with the instructions, unless you like to be frustrated. Very simple to set up though. Best value for a stand I've ever came across.

Very strong. I have 3 now and would not consider any other. It has a lot of height control. The only thing that would make this product beyond reality is if the second tier could be adjusted from front to back to allow upper keyboard to be placed where needed. I turned the upper tier rods backwards on 1 stand to allow the keyboard to set back a bit farther. It still worked great. Put it togeather in minutes. It has total adjustability. It will be what you want it to be, and no I don't work for the company, I just love the product. Solid! I have 3 of them. I have 9 keyboards in my rig. They hold 3 keyboards with no problem. I stack 2 on the first tier and one on the second. It is unbeatable. You can not beat this price! Where can you go to buy a stand of this quality and strength for this price? It's crazy! Buy it! You won't be dissapointed.

If Klingons Designed Keyboard Stands...

If the Klingons designed keyboard stands this is what it would look like! lol No joking, it's durable and rock solid with lots of bracing to hold heavy, expensive stuff like my Moogie Voyager and Kurzweil stage piano. It's almost fully adjustable, can hold your heaviest keyboards and looks great on stage with all the cool knobs holding everything securely -- esthetics are very important to girls! lol If you're using the top tier, it requires some adjusting so everything is right where you want it, but who cares, it's going to do the job. n/a n/a If you need a heavy-duty, dual gig stand it's a great value, and AMS' price is the best I've found.

I have the single kb stand and now this double tier one and simply put, the most stable dependable stands on the market. You are throwing your $$ away if you bother with others. I am 110% confident that my Korg workstations are safe and sound sitting atop this beast of a stand! I can't get over how sturdy it is for a double tier stand. Easy setup, making adjustments are a breeze. I'm sure it wouldn't have a nice sound if it collapsed but with On Stage stands, that will never happen. This stand could easily hold more than they suggest. Supporting 60 lbs worth of kb/synths is a joke for this thing. All parts are machined very well, no rough edges, built like a rock! I've paid 250.00 for those Ultimate stands and they just don't give me that Peace of Mind. This is the 1st double tier stand I have TOTAL faith in. That matters when you've got $6,000.00 worth of keyboards laying on it. Can't put a price on that, $100.00 is a steal!

The stand is rock solid, made of quality material, and manufactured very well. I really appreciate the almost limitless number of possible adjustments as far as width, height, and tilt angle. I'm much more comfortable playing now being able to customized my keyboards locations. The only caveat of this stand is that it is not the quickest to set up if you use the upper tier. If using only the lower, it unfolds and assembles in about a minute. n/a n/a For the quality and finish of this stand, it is priced very faily at AMS, though I've seen it advertised higher at other merchants' sites!
