Nice stand that folds up compactly. Perfect for putting a mic in front of an amp or for vocals while sitting. Stand is solid, adjustable and not too expensive.

For starters, I have a Peavey 6505+ 112 combo amp that sits on top of a 17-24 inch amp stand. This mic stand is the perfect size and with its low profile, it doesn't waste any floor space unlike other stands that have much longer legs. This mic stand also comes with two cable clips, one for the boom and one for the lower vertical bar above the base of the stand. No complaints here, I highly recommend this mic stand.

This is actually a VERY sturdy stand. The connection where the tripod legs meet the actual stand shaft is metal. So many cheap stands make this part plastic. I received this as part of a promotion with a dynamic mic package. I did not expect it to be good. I was so impressed that I ordered two more.

Its Somewhat Worth The Money (MS7411B)

Product Review
Great Short Stand!!! It does work for the regular mic use. It's not as great as the K&M's but it does work the way I want it to. After I purchased this from American Musical, I found these same stands for $21.99 near my area. So in other words, I think I paid extra money at American Musical.
Overall, these boom stands do work and they are decent but little overpriced, especially when I found it cheaper near by my area. I would recommend this. The reason I gave this one star less is because of the price as I mentioned above.

I needed a handful of "low boys" in a hurry and couldn't afford my usual K&Ms. These stands work OK, but won't last long with normal gigging use.

Unbeatable for the money

I wish the threads at the end of the boom were brass. Be careful about mis-threading a microphone clip. The steel thread lock is acceptable, but if you have the money, replace it with an oversize thread lock made of plated brass from Latch Lake or AEA.
With mods, you can make this even better: (i) use 3/4" color heat shrink to ID each stand as your own (ii) add velcro ties to hold cords (better than the plastic cord holders that come with the stand); (ii) plug leg end near center pivot with expandable foam, fill legs with oven-dried sand or steel shot to increase weight, and plug other legend with foam.

Perfect In Your Luggage
By: Mark L.
Submitted: 11/18/2008
Excellent quality! No complaints whatsoever!
It is a compact stand that fit well in my luggage when I had to go out of town for work related travel. It works well on a table/desk or even on the floor if you are seated. I also used it on a drum kit recently and it was able to fit in a tight space rather well. It also has 2 retaining clips for the mic cable.
Very easy to use just like any other mic stand but it does compact nicely. The tripod base can be loosened and when folded, slid up the main shaft to make it shorter and compact.
Dead silent :-) as a mic stand should be!
