I've been using felt picks on bass guitar for years now, but didn't know 'ukulele's were played with them as well. It makes sense, as plastic picks didn't exist initially.
I bought these because I couldn't find a resupply of my felt bass guitar picks, but I recently found a source for those. Nevertheless, I'm glad I ordered these, because even though I usually play finger-style on 'ukulele, I was quite surprised at how well these work!
They maintain the character of the nylon or fluorocarbon strings, but can help it cut through a bit better in a dense mic. Also, they give a nice tick tacky sound if you use the instrument for early jazz, as I do.
They are just the right size to feel comfortable on a small instrument. I haven't dropped one or flubbed an articulation yet! I'm not a strummer, so I can't really judge if they will satisfy those who primarily strum chord vs. playing melodies or jazz chords.
Note that these are slightly stiffer than the felt picks sold for bass guitar (a different brand makes those). In the case of the 'ukulele though, this is advantageous as the strings might not intonate as well otherwise.
