I was so happy when I received this keyboard. I called NI to assist with making sure I had everything set up correctly. That part was a breeze. Until I actually used it. That's where the challenges came in. When you buy something, you expect it to work to the fullest and not be limited. Well, I've been having issues with the Komplete Kontrol S49 plugin focus/instance in Ableton. It is annoying to have to click the S49 icon in the software per track instead of it working from the keyboard itself. NI stated to downgrade from Ableton Live 9.5, which I lose a lot of great features on the Ableton side. The other issue is that Komplete Kontrol vst crashes Ableton. The only time it doesn't and works fine is when using it within Maschine, which means I lose 50% of Komplete Kontrol S49 full features. Not cool.... I just wish these companies would come together a lot better to ensure customers are getting what they paid for in a positive way, not negative. I have my eye on the Akai Advance 49 &

Komplete Kontrol S49 is without doubt one of the best controller out there. It's compact size makes it the most used controller in any home studio. The NIs S49 is complete. Hence the name. Native Instruments always deliver great products. Amazing built quality and precious finish. I've been using NIs products for years and I never have any issues with any of them. I totally recommend the NIs S49. You won't be disappointed.

I actually like that this has very few features. What it does have is what midi controllers should have had for years. Scales, chords, arp, light guide, touch strip mod/pitch wheel, browser and 8 tweeking knobs is almost all you need. I would give it 95%. I think there should be a volume knob, but not a big deal.

Lights, camera, action is exactly what this instrument is. Love it like it was my own, just not yet, I still have to order it.
