1st let me start by saying that this controller is well built. I think is smaller than other controllers but the platters are an improvement. I like the fact that the platters move like a real turntable but at the same time you have the option to keep them steady without movements like the previous traktor controller. I would highly recommend this controller to any DJ.

As someone new to djing its a smidge overwhelming but I weirdly picked up very quickly after just toying around. I do have a way with electronics though. Outside of that I had some weird issues installing traktor even though I already had other things on native access. Overall decent experience so far and love the jog wheels. The whole build feels well tested and sturdy.

I gave away my old s4 mk3 to my younger brother who lives in another country about a couple of months back because i was thinking of upgrading my controller and after reviewing every controller it its category i still end up getting another s4 mk3..this controller is one of the best controller you'll find in the market.its built tough, ergonomic design, intuitive layout,very good sounding soundcard, straightforward accurate and fine tuned effects..

This deck is one of my favorite purchases in a long time. It’s capable of doing everything you need and then some. Very responsive and the software is very accessible and easy to pick up. (Hard to master)
The ONLY gripe I have with it is that there are some premium samples and tools that are locked behind Trakor Pro 3. But, none of it is necessary or crucial. Just extra bells and whistles to make it that much better.
So far, it’s makes mixing feel like less of a chore when trying to compile your files and stitch it together. It gives me the much needed fluidity that I’ve been looking for in equipment.

I can't stop looking at my new Traktor Kontrol S4 MK3 today. It sits on my desk
in front of my laptop and doesn't take up too much space. The tiny screen is quite helpful for not looking at the laptop all the time but it is quite small and won't give you the full waveform details you might get on higher end controllers. The unit I bought was a dent and scratch purchase and I have yet to find any cosmetic flaws on the controller. I'm not sure who had the unit before me or for how long, but it seems brand new. The only gripe I have about this controller is that it is not made to work with midi and the streaming services offered in Traktor is very limited. You can't use Tidal with Traktor, for example. That's a bummer for me because I really would like to be able to play songs on demand if someone requests something I don't have in my music collection. If I play nothing but original music however, not having access to the best music streaming services is less of an issue. I'm a beginner but I am learning this controller very quickly thanks to the easy-to-read instruction manual and the countless Traktor videos out there on YouTube. Knobs and buttons feel natural and well made. The jog wheels could be bigger but that would make the unit less travel friendly. I think overall this is an excellent controller for beginners and for veterans who want something portable (check out the flight case!) and easy to use.

Not recommened for beginner users. This device packs a hell a punch and deliver almost everytime i go to use it. I’m super satisfied and the device came as it is sold as. I love it. I’m an avid user of scratch and performing musical arts. I love this device and I can’t wait to research and see what kind of programs traktor and native instruments has in store! Awesome!

Never knew this controller was so good if I knew it I will change it 10 years. Wish the controller was bigger but otherwise everything feels good everything works good I like creating music while I’m DJ and this thing is amazing my only problem with this item if they can make it a little bit bigger don’t be shy would be perfect otherwise it’s a beautiful controller I highly recommend it if you like doing music and creating music nothing beats this item

Native instruments needs to support this piece of hardware better than it does. No support for streaming services means you need to own the music your playing even to test to see if a mix is worth working on. Like the kontrol and maschine, the hardware is on point. But it only works with traktor and the software needs some love in order for me to recommend this, being for about the same price I could’ve purchased the 1000srt and played around with tidal tracks for kicks. 3 stars in its present state

I have used Native Instruments software and hardware for many years and have never been disappointed on any level.
I purchased the Traktor S4 Mark III after much thought and consideration.
I have away been a vinyl and time code vinyl DJ.
So I was excited about the new haptic drive feature on the S4 Mark III.
The unit is incredibly awesome and packs a punch while being able to fit into my carry on traveling bag.
During my first ninety days of ownership, the left jog wheel began to freeze while I was scratching in Turntable mode. I didn’t pay it much mind at first but it happened again and again. I adjusted the jog wheel torque by 50% to no avail. Then to my greater surprise, the right jog wheel began to freeze while in turntable mode as well.
I updated the firmware and that was not the culprit the problem still persists.
I really like this unit it’s compact and small enough to get a professional set done without taking up needed space in a mobile studio van set up.
The investment in this unit was to produce DJ remix sets and live stream my radio show from the road.
I am currently operating at 50% capacity now and if the issue can’t be resolved I will be saddened.
I really like the S4 Mrk III it does everything for me and I believe it was built for my mobile needs.

I've had this controller for five months now. Great fx, clear quality sound, nice layout with booth channel, and easy to work with. I love the fact that you can add 2 turntables, but there is no independent mic channel. The headphone volume should be louder, the haptic drive on the platters throw you off when mixing, and this is not a total stand-alone controller. All-in-all it met my expectations.

I purchased the s4 out of curiosity. I’ve had more fun mixing and scratching than I expected at a fast rate. Not a Dj but I’ve produced and played instruments my whole life so it wasn’t much of a learning curve. The workflow and simplicity of the layout makes the NI s4 mk3 one of the coolest tools for mixing and remixing your favorite songs. I might start throwing parties just to Dj.

I bought this controller to upgrade my live DJ setup from using Ableton with a MIDI controller, and I'm so glad I did. I settled on Traktor and the S4, at the advice of a couple fellow DJs, who felt I would personally enjoy Traktor the best, based on my style of deejaying. They were right. I love the FX and control options in Traktor, and the S4 integrates so well with Traktor. It provides effortless access to almost all the essential features - and of course you can edit the mappings to customize to your preference. The build quality is excellent. Pots and sliders feel solid and have the appropriate degrees of glide and friction, to allow you to quickly and precisely dial in settings. If you're thinking about taking the leap and you're the kind of DJ who also loves produce and utilize creative transitions...do it.

I love the turntable feature on the s3 mk4. It was a nice surprise because I overlooked that when I bought it. I was able to update my software to hook it up easily. The only difficult part is figuring out how to live stream. I don't know what the cord is for, since everything works without it but my husband says we can find a use for it eventually.

I bought this unit about 2 1/2 weeks ago, I have since taken it to several colabs practices and 2 events. it only took a couple of days to arrive. which is good, because i was itchin to use it. i just got done with my first recorded 4 deck set! it was amazing, im still kinda hyped up on that good energy from a fun performance. I have to say this controller goes the extra mile! full in/out capabilities, and the sound was loud too, didn't need any pre-amps or anything! i have tried it now by itself, with cdjs and with dvs, and normal vinyl. i have to say its the best all in one type controller i have used. it is heavy and doesnt seem flimsy at all and the case is sure to protect it for years.
my only criticism is that it would have been even better if it had its own screen you could flip up instead of using my tiny laptop screen LOL

I’ve been a traktor user for a long time but their controllers never really appeal To me. However they change that with this S4MK3. The product feels solid, great sound quality, all the features you’re looking for, plus I love the mixer session that reminds me of a pioneer DJM 900. I bought this product mainly do mixers at home, but now I’m taking it everywhere to all my gigs. Miami music week is coming and guess what I will be using this all the time.

The S4 Mk3 is the best controller offered by Native Instruments, and a true rival to Pioneer's gear. All the faders, knobs, and buttons feel well constructed and durable. The jog wheels with the haptic drive are fantastic, great for either vinyl or digital DJs with their TT or Jog modes. The reverse and flux buttons are also fun for effects, chops, and remixing on the fly.
The brand new built in mixer effects are a welcome addition, as they are easy to use, versatile, and quite effective for smoothing transitions. These in combination with the returning fx1 and fx2 effects make Traktor the one to beat for custom effects combinations.
The new feature that the color of the decks changes to orange when using decks C and D is a vital tweak that makes advanced three and four deck dj'ing much easier, as you can easily tell which deck is selected at a glance.
The new screens are great for DJs that don't want to be stuck staring at their computer, as they give you all the pertinent information of the track, key, bpm, and even the waveform, much like CDJs layouts.
My only gripe so far is that I haven't been able to get the mic input working with my microphone.
Overall I heavily recommend this controller, it's the best DJ controller on the market for the price.

The hepatic feature and the easy access to the FX controls makes your transitions seamless and creative. I like the fact that the controller is built sturdy and I like the feel of the faders. The only thing I would say is make the jog wheels a little bigger other than that the controller is light weight and compact for any size gig. It is easy to toggle between one shots and samples with the push of a button and you have the turntable mode that you can actually loosen or tighten to your comfort. I highly recommend this product to any dj that wants a smaller controller that doesn't lack in features and functionality.

i have recently purchased the traktor s4 mk3 along with the upgrade in software traktor pro three reluctency because i was about to jump on the pioneer wagon as most of the djs are using at my club i hold residency. now i see what a mistake for me that would have been. the new controller is elequant and just enough bells and whistles to satisfy those of us who just can't mix a song without having loops and effects to occupy the time we have left standing with nothing to do with our hands. if your music sounded empty and drull before rest assure you will breath new life into all your tracks. sound card upgrade was such an improvement to my sound it gives me uniqueness once again. outstanding job NI for keeping up with the times as far as im concerned head above the rest of the competion. thakyou AMS for the financing opition which helped made it possible for me. a very happy confident dj is a packed dancefloor.

The Native Instruments Traktor S4mk3 is everything you would ever want in a Traktor controller. With the ability to switch from Jog Mode to Turntable mode is a huge plus for dj and turntablist alike. The haptic drive on the S4 is phenomenal and the new effects that are a fingertouch away on the mixer is so worth the upgrade.
Being an open format dj I would highly recommend it. I came from the Z2 and the S8, and this controller is easy to transition to.
If you love Traktor, do yourself a favor and grab this. You wont be disappointed! ??

The S4 runs on IN Traktor’s 3. And it’s got some really awesome features that gives you so much control.
I was looking for a Dj controller that was a bit smaller then the SX, but not giving up the 4 channel mixer and sound outputs. This was perfect for everything I needed.

This Unit is great. as an old S4 user, this new MK3 is all it says it is. well built and so flexible. Its, cool in the not so busy parts of your set, and so ready to go when your mixing. best S4 yet. very pleased, 30 days in I had an issue with the mic section, and I emailed American Music on Sunday night about midnight to ask then to return it, and the next morning by 10 AM, I had a return label, and was told that once the unit was moving with UPS, they would ship out another unit.
This is not the first time I had hardware issues, but American Music did not hesitate to fix the issue. Thank you AMS for service that is above the rest. In need ten Stars five for the S4 MK3 and five for AMS.

If this is the first review you are reading about the Traktor Kontroller S4 MK3 then let me be the first to tell you that this controller is AMAZING!!! For under $1,000 you get the best in mixer FX and you get the motorized jog wheels.
Devout Traktor fans will swear by this controller until the cows come home. If you can afford this controller and you are a beginner, start here. There is so much more flexibility and creativity to be had with this controller. The S2 version has the great features, but there's a reason why this beast costs $600 more.
If you are an OG vinyl DJ and want to bring in a more compact option, the S4 MK3 will give you the best feel of vinyl control. One of the highlights of this controller is the Haptic Feedback. Once you complete the firmware update, this thing works beautifully!!! I am amazed at how easily I can find my cue points and make some pretty cool scratching sequences with this controller. Definitely the BEST BANG for your BANK!

This is a very mature iteration in the Traktor line. Having used the original S4 and S8, this feels right on the money with the updated layout. The sound quality is much improved from the other models. Portability may be a small issue, but this is mostly due to the fact there hasn't been many bag/case options readily available. Its solid craftmanship but not too bulky to carry around.

I am a long time Traktor user and I must say, the Mk3 is the most comprehensive update yet. The center piece is absolutely the jog wheels. Very high quality, probably the best jogs you'll lay your hands on in this price point and higher. The haptic drive system gives it a super smooth feel. Drag is authentic and adjustable. The overall feel and weight is on point.
The Mk3 does have a more "modern" button layout so if you're coming from a Mk2 or Mk1 S4, you will have to re-acclimate your work flow habits. I have found the new layout to be an improvement honestly.
The LCD screens on Decks A and B are oddly placed and seem small but do display essentials like the waveform, loop size, and current key/bpm. They're more informative than I initially thought so don't dismiss them. The new Mixer FX section is a great addition for quick transition effects besides the usual "Filter".
It's heavier and wider than the mk2, but still "compact". Overall, a huge improvement for Trakor users.
