I recently acquired the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2 Keyboard, and I have been incredibly impressed with my purchase. Right out of the box, the setup was quick and straightforward, which allowed me to dive right into making music without unnecessary delay.
The most striking feature that I have enjoyed since I started using the S88 Mk2 is the feel of the weighted keys. They strike the perfect balance between firmness and responsiveness, making the keyboard a joy to play. Being an artist, the profound significance of sound to me is deeply connected and enriched by the authentic, immersive experience provided by the weighted keys of the S88 Mk2.
The keyboard's responsiveness is another highlight. Whether I'm playing a gentle melody or a complex chord progression, each press of the key is captured accurately and instantly, allowing me to express my musical ideas without hesitation.

Great feel! Great response! I knew I would love it based on previously owning the Arturia 88. Second, I love the integration with NI. One small hiccup and I’m not sure if it’s software or hardware related. The sustain pedal sometimes loses configuration. So odd! But I’m still in love, no doubt.

The controller is amazing in every way from the fully weighted feel of the keys ?? the emersion into the software of maschine and komplete kontrol the large displays keep you at the hardware longer instead of using a mouse you are bringing back the nostalgic feeling of analog hardware in a new futuristic way with making beats i feel this is a connection to the music instead of point and click with a mouse the unit is built well and everything feels and works as a high end piece of gear. If you play piano or use native Instruments software this is a must have and perfect addition to any production studio or for someone to just play .

This is a great product for my needs.
I work with logic pro x as daw software and almost everything I can control from the surface the keyboard have.
The keyboard fill like a grand piano touch and with a good sample you almost not notice the difference between the keyboard and grand piano.
I have this Controller for almost a year and at this moment everything works fine.

I bought this MIDI controller after using a semi weighted M-Audio MIDI Controller and This thing feels amazing to play on. It took some getting used to but after about a week of adjustment this keyboard feels very nice. I use it to lay down tracks and ideas for music production inside Ableton Live 11 and everything works great. I leave one track on my default Ableton Live template using the Komplete Kontrol plugin, it has my favorite piano plugin on there and I use it to lay down ideas quickly. It works great and all the features are available because its running through Komplete Kontrol. However, all of my other MIDI tracks I choose to not use komplete kontrol and just use the native plugins and the MIDI controller still works amazing, It doesn't have the lights and scales features and all that but I prefer just using the plugins themselves. I have been very happy with this purchase. Also whenever I have company in my "studio" people always complement the look of this thing because the lights are so cool looking :P lol I can recommend this product to anybody.

I purchased the S88 with the Komplete 12 Ultimate bundle. This controller has been amazing! I've been using it for a few months now and it has been super reliable. The feel of the keys is nice for the most part. I'm not a pianist by trade (guitarist and composer) so the weight is a little more than the pianos that I have played, but it is still very manageable. The integration with complete control is solid and I had no issues getting it set up with Logic Pro X.

Purchased this product because I wanted the feel of a real piano instead of the light feel or most midi controllers. After receiving this product I was very impressed with the sturdiness and quality of the build. It was very easy to connect and use. The on-board controls, paired with other native instrument software almost completely eliminated the need for my computer mouse and keyboard. This product is definitely a must have for those who like to create music using piano keys instead of pads. I also like the fact that this unit can be used in live performances with the connection to my lap top using just one USB cable.

First of all I'd like to say that I order most of my "big ticket" item with AMS. The ordering process with American Musical was very smooth, as always. There was, however, an error with shipping. It was supposed to be overnight and it came a week later. AMS, however, went out of there way to make it up to me. I was reimbursed the shipping cost AND given a gift card for my trouble. Thanks for that AMS. Ok, now lets get to the product at hand.
I ordered the Native Instruments Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2 in early August. I'm going to break it down in several categories. They are as follows: Construction, functionality, ease of use, price, overall thoughts.
1. Construction: I find this to be a very sturdy, well put together keyboard. It has good weight to it. Its got a good sleek look to it. The keys feel amazing. You'll feel like you are playing a real piano. The keys will take some getting used to if you have never played on weighted keys before. I like that all the keys have lights assigned to them so they match what you see on your computer screen in regards to where the keys switches and range of notes are located. The knobs, pads, and buttons are solidly built and in the right location on the keyboard. The pitch bend and modulation wheels are very solid. The S88 Mk2 is very big and has lots of real estate. That being said, I would like to have had the two screens on the board be bigger and be touch screen. Maybe Native Instruments can put this in on the next model.
2. Functionality: This is my first time using a real dedicated midi controller. I have a bit of a learning curve but if you read the manual AND watch all the videos available, its gets much easier to learn the "ins and outs" of this board. It has definitely sped up my workflow. I love that you can see, on the screen, all the sound that you have available. I also love that before committing to a sound, you get to "audition" that sound. This is, of course, if you are using Komplete Kontrol within your DAW. Very nice touch.
3. Ease of Use: As stated above, This is my first true midi controller. Day by day it's getting easier to use. I'm reading the manual and watching any video I can get my hands on. I have been able to write, record, mix, master and release my first song using the NI Komplete Kontrol S88 Mk2.
4. Price: I paid 1049.00 for this midi controller. I would have paid more. It is definitely worth every penny. This could easily be a 1500.00 dollar controller. If NI ever puts in two bigger screens AND make it touch screen, I'd buy it in a second without hesitation. NI, are you listening?
5. Overall thoughts: I highly recommend this midi controller for use in your studio. Solid construction, easy to use, priced well, and WILL speed up your workflow. NI, you did a great job with this midi controller. Can't wait for what you come up with next.

Bought this workstation to assist me with multiple projects. I am launching two podcast which both have unique requirements that this workstation and it’s huge library of sounds fit perfectly. The light weight , 88Key, weighted keys is now the heart of my projects as I can produce just about anything I need musically. A fully loaded library of sound effects, classical piano or hard hitting percussion allows me to have endless ideas and hours of fun filled entertainment. Thanks to AMS I was able to grab this highly valued diamond at a very humble price. I will continue to stand by AMS in its Large library of outstanding products like this Komplete Kontrol workstation.

This is one heavy keyboard, but solid. A full 88key weighted keyboard is pro all the way, and basic Komplete Select Ver 12 software is more than enough to get you started. Works with VST's in a DAW, but not through the screen. Just their instruments there. A few others work but not with all the control - I new that ahead.
Be aware the weighted keyboard requires a heavier hand than many regular/real piano keyboards, so this requires a bit stronger hands. The keyswitch lighted keys are a super plus while playing on the fly and live. And 88 keys feels like to took a grand piano to a gig.

Native Instruments has out done themselves with this midi keyboard. The features of the S88 MK2 had really improved my work. The weighted keys makes you feel like you are playing on an actual piano. The feel of the buttons and knobs let's you know that you are working on a serious piece of equipment. I don't see myself needing another keyboard for a long time. Bonus: Free NI Expansion Packs!

The craftsmanship and quality of this keyboard is second to none. The weighted keys allows the piano player to be more expressive while playing. This keyboard integrates perfectly with native Instruments software out the box. I have bought the 61 keys and loved it but wished I had bought the 88 keys so I got rid of my 61 and got 88 just for those extra keys which allows me more sample chops to audition without toggling back and forth. My money has been spent well

I love this board. From the keybed to the convenient control integration with Komplete Ultimate, Logic Pro, Abelton Live, Arturia, etc. I love the sleek and simple design with just enough buttons and controls to be productive. The Native Instruments Komplete Control S88 Mk2 keyboard is everything in a controller the you will ever. Beside great looking if you are a pianist like my self the weighed key action is almost similar to Steinway grand piano.Also having the ability to control parameters of your favorite VST's gives you the same feel as vintage hardware equipment. The only dislike I had about the controller was no drum pad, but then again there has to be a new feature for the Mk3. I've had the board for 3 months now and wish I bought it a long time ago. It has met my expectations and then some. There are only 2 other controllers own the market with realistic piano feel, but they lack the ability to control VST parameters and DAW control. If you want realistic feel and total control, look no further the Native Instruments Komplete Control S88 Mk2 is the best choice!

I bought this to go with my Maschine Jam and Mk3. The way this all works together is extremely powerful and efficient! The S88 itself feels amazing. It is slightly stiffer than a real piano but after awhile it’s not a big deal at all. I have come to like it’s feel. The added features of the S88 to the Jam and Mk3 means this is a totally tactile hardware approach to creating music in a computer. It doesn’t feel like playing music with a computer which is what I have been looking for with computer based music! It’s the power of PC based tools but with hardware immersion!

This keyboard is amazing!
Took less than five minutes to set up with Studio One Pro.They included tons of instruments in the package. It has been very easy to learn the controls. I love the fact that you can effortlessly scroll through all of your instruments and hear sound previews as you scroll. The light guide is amazing especially to get your song going quickly with chords or you can set it to only light up the keys in your given scale. All the keys feel very close to a real piano and the mod wheels and touch strip work perfectly. I would highly recommend !

I just got my keyboard yesterday, and I haven't stopped playing it, the keys are a little more stiff than a Yamaha MOXF8, But After playing it for about an hour, I overlooked the stiffness, and these keys feel great! I was not able to test the s88 Mk2 before I purchased it. I was worried that the keyboard action wouldn't feel right.
Those concerns are gone now. The action has a good amount of resistance, like a piano and the integration with the Komplete software is fantastic. The keyboard keys are quiet, not 'clicky' like the Yamaha S80 it replaced. I love it!
