The combined hardware/software package is great for the price. That is specially true on the hardware despite the minimalistic form factor . On the other hand, there's a learning curb to the Maschine software, and the installation of the software takes too long and is full of buggy procedures not explain on the install instructions. Furthermore, you have to open the included software in a particular sequence for it to work, that took a couple of days to figure out and debug. Despite this I still would recommend it, you can't beat the price vs value on its capabilities.

Great sounds and beat packs that come with Maschine 2. The only thing I didn't like was the functionality problems with Logic Pro X. Difficult to get MIDI recording set up. Good as a standalone to create patterns and import them into Logic Pro. Very fun tool nonetheless!

I am completely new to sampling so if you are in the same boat I am in, then trust me when I tell you that this is a wonderful place to start.
What drew me to the MK3 Mikro was that nearly everything you needed to navigate the software could be done right there on the controller. No mouse, no keyboard, right into the music.
It's a little bit of a learning curve but nothing to worry about because as you are learning you are still pumping out beats like crazy.
I love the option to swap between chord and keyboard mode to add complex layers of sounds in literal seconds.
I love that I can use the encoder to audition sounds while the beat is being played in the background.
It feels amazing in your hands, the pads are lovely and responsive, it feels durable and not like a rickety piece of plastic.
I have had this for a little over a month now and I was able to complete an EP within that month, on top of learning the software.
This has greatly improved the way I lay down beats. As I said earlier, I made an EP strictly from the software itself and it turned out pretty sweet. You can import VST's into the software and pretty much use it like any DAW. Keep in mind that when you buy this you are getting loads of samples, loads of loops, a controller, and a DAW. That is unheard of. The price is perfect, and even the upgrade to the full Maschine Library is reasonably priced with piles of samples to work with.

I'm just getting into using pad controllers and this is my very first one. I've only had it for a couple weeks and so far, I don't have any complaints as far as the hardware goes. It's an excellent choice for traveling with your studio. It's no bigger than a 13in Macbook and it fits into my backpack very easily. The only issues I have with this product is the software compatibility. It works, although I still have to figure out how to make it do what I want it to.

This controller is the best choice for someone who wants a portable beat pad with your laptop. I love how you can do everything on it from chord progressions to drumming out a beat. If you're trying to save money but get a good beat pad I highly recommend purchasing this one. I no longer have to bring a midi keyboard with me I can literally do everything on this.

Maschine Mikro MK3. You've seen the videos, you've read the reviews. Still as awesome as ever.
Two major gripes-- 1. Not compatible with the Controller Editor software. The MIDI CC assignments are FIXED. Nope. Don't do that, NI.
2. The screen. No. Don't do that, either. It's way, way, way too small.
Other than that, still Maschine, still awesome. Pad response is the best of ALL the drum pad controllers. Stay away from Akai and stick with NI (as long as they bring back Controller Editor stuff, and improve upon the screen).

As a consumer of native instruments I have been blessed to be able to use all of their drum maschines from the mk1 and up. As great a products as they are the aspect of size and mobility is always an issue for those on the go producers & beatmakers. Nobody wants to haul their whole studio with them just to make beats.
Today NI has provided for us the ultimate answer, the maschine mikro mk3. The mikro mk3 is the exact replica of the famous Mk3 without the screens. It literally does everything any other maschine mk3 or studio does in a compact form. Its super easy to use and love that you can pop it anywhere and just plug into the laptop and start making tracks. I have to say that its a need combo with the new A25 or A61 komplete kontrol. They work perfectly in sync.
All this makes your work flow go from 0 to 100. In addition you get a bunch of new sounds along with it.
My favorite feature is the ease of creating trap with it by using the knob to switch the tempo of the hi hats its very cool. Another awesome feature is the NKS wow put a piano thru that and you will sound like jon legend lol playing in key, chords, progressions.
Overall a great piece of equipment and honestly the fact that you AMS allows price plans makes this item a must have of 2019. So pick up a mikro mk3 and start changing the world with your sounds.

I bought the maschine mickro mk3. Thinking it was an upgrade from the mikro mk2, but it doesn't have the options and control of midi on other daws as the mk2. The touch strip is a nice feature but all in all its a good machine for someone who is just starting to produce music. I'd go with the mikro mk2.

This a good product, don't get me wrong. Build quality is solid - the unit is hard plastic and doesn't flex in the least, and the pads definitely feel like they could take some abuse. Its a nice looking piece of hardware that's almost as nice to use. It also comes with a lot of quality, versatile sounds (vsts and samples) that are crazy easy to access and play using the controller inside of Maschine.
However, this controller is really lacking outside of Maschine. It lacks any kind of MIDI controller editor like its siblings (and even its predecessor!), so its functionally in MIDI mode is reduced to pretty much just the 16 pads (no banks even!). It doesn't even have a MIDI out, so it can't easily be used with other hardware. The product is just too expensive to be so lacking as a basic MIDI controller. Its just frustrating because its otherwise so well-designed.
But, if you want a controller to use solely in Maschine, this is a solid buy.

I bought my Maschine Mikro Mk3 because I travel quite often. I hadn’t owned one since MK1. The pads are amazing! The velocity sensitivity really capture your live performance well! The simplified layout is great ad well. When I am not using the Maschine software, Midi Mode makes Ableton even more fun. I do have a Push 2 but this is a great companion for the drum racks! My only gripe is the smaller info screen. It is a small feature and forces the user to use the laptop screen often. I definitely recommend it for Dj/Producers who want a compact option while on the go!

I purchased this to go along with my S61 MK2 controller from Native Instruments and I feel that it's the perfect companion. It's nice and compact with everything I need on it. Feels sturdy and well made. You don't get the full, detailed screens like on the larger models, but this thing will easily fit in a small backpack to take on the go with your laptop. Pads have the perfect amount of sensitivity and you can hit them pretty hard without worry.

I like how small of a footprint this is. It is portable and powered through usb rather than the bigger versions that Native offers. Some prefer to work on the maschine screens themselves but this is a better option form me and I can leave on my desk like most people would. Pads seem much better this time around as well. First day tryer/buyer time will tell.

This is a great product to get you into the Maschine work flow at a great price. This product is pretty much the same as it’s “Big Brother” the Maschine Mk3. My biggest problem with this item is Native Instruments removing the midi function from the device. So there is no way to put this device in midi mode at the moment. I saw where Native Instruments is working on this in a future software release. Not sure on an eta. I like the compact size but the no midi mode is not as integrating for me and my work flow.
