I found the KH80 to punch WELL above it's price point. Despite having a 4 inch woofer, the bass extension is quite impressive. Stereo image is fantastic, frequency response is very linear and neutral and I can honestly say, this is one of the easiest monitors I've mixed on in the past 10 years. What you hear is what you get. Don't let the size fool you. This is a great speaker that delivers well above what you pay. This is true VALUE.

This is a great sounding little box. Have had it for at least 6 mos and it was purchased for monitoring for live broadcasts. In a talking heads scenario it has great tonality and realistic imaging. Where it will have challenges is if the engineer decides to try to compete with a full sized PA with a ton of low end. That will send it into limit quickly. HOWEVER, used reasonably (it is a 4" woofer after all) it actually punches above its weight class. We will probably keep these for less intense monitoring and get one of its larger brothers for the bigger shows.

From Neumann KH 80 to your your ears, they are clear I mean crystal, I had mines going on 3 months. when I bought. them I thought because of their size they might not do the job but they were way better then I expected. it has sleep mode too.and EQ. I can say i wish the monitors had a little more bass. a sub will take care of that

Based on my room and the desire to work at the max recommended spl for long sessions I considered these along with Adams a7x. The sound is amazing and I have no treatment. I did set these at a 30° equi triangle as recommended and set up the gain with a spl meter on phone. Then I did sonarworks room correction. I have not done the controll app yet but let me say one thing, it has bass. Like sub bass. It's probably not accurate in amplitude but it's there. I use a subsonic synth and its there in front of me in phantom mono. Will upgrade to sub with treatment. These are for those that want to work.

After reading the only (2) reviews that was availabe, I was still skeptical to buy this small monitor, and did not really want to take the chance to buy this monitor for my home studio, because it was way too small. I ordered it, the next day I called AMS to cancel the order, the kind representative from AMS told me, I can always return it after I use it and try it, so I can make a well informed decision, and said "don't look at the monitors' size, because it can deliver big punches". I took a leap of faith, not just for what he said, also because I trust this brand, I have never been deceived by its products. I'm currently using the new Neumann Studio Headphone, that is extremely fantastic, the KMS 105, that I am always given compliments on how my voice sounded amazingly beautiful, clear and intelligible ( they could hear every single words sang). Yes I did buy the monitor....Oh BOY,,,I don't curse...The sound that came to me was huge, musical, clear from dear detailed bottom ( Low end detailed I've never noticed before) to clear bird Hi end that escaped from just from not having the right Pro monitor that I have used before.
Believe it or not, with this Monitors, a Sub is not even required, there is enough BASS for your project. Its Low END Bass will vibrate the floor. I am thinking to have my room acoustically treated, the carpet does not do much, although the monitor automatically just to your room, but the sound is too strong. I am using a 1/5 of the volume, simply and surprisingly AMAZING.
PLEASE, do you need an accurate MIX, a monitor that will tell you the hard truth. No need to second GUESS like I did, just BUY it, you won't regret it. Take this advise from me. Henry J

I recently sold my KH 120 pair for the KH 80 DSP. I immediately noticed the low end bloom gone from the room and a much more detailed midrange. The iPad app needs a little work, but is usable (and largely unnecessary if you don't want hardware room correction or distance delays). Great buy with the recent price drop too!
