I really can't find much to complain about. Maybe a better key bed? Its good but when looking for negatives, its all I can really point at. The Arturia Keylab MKII keys feel much better but that unit lacks a lot of what makes this unit special to me. Takes a little bit to get used to and there is a lot to learn when it comes to programming and templates but once familiarized with these things, its a killer midi controller. Also, the sequencer is second to none, the killer component in my opinion. If you want or need integration between many hardware units and DAW integration, LOOK HERE.

I’m currently using this with Ableton Live 11 Suite and hooked up through MIDI to a Yamaha Modx8.
Great keybed, very precise velocity that can be set via a knob or played through manually. The scale modes are a really nice feature with the lights, as it will illuminate the chosen scale! The arpeggiator is also very fun to play with, the pads act as a step sequencer to set your own intervals. It has a nice multicolor standby display. The abilities to control ableton are excellent. This thing is basically plug and play, with only a few settings needed in the DAW to set it up. I highly recommend this, and there are many more features that I haven’t dove into yet.

Superb keyboard for sequencing and controlling outboard gear. Nothing comes close at the time of this review. Novation products (especially this one) are built really well. Not to mention the constant support Novation shows their customers. They are always updating and supporting their gear. I highly recommend

Bought this a few months ago. Love it. However, it does need a firmware update or two, to add some essential functionality. Novation has updated their Circuit constantly... which made it even more popular. They need to do the same with this. If it had a built-in metronome and/or click sound, it would help. And a count-in, for the built-in sequencer. In addition, the unit needs more banks of encoders, faders, buttons. Yes, you can use Templates on the same midi channel/route to work around that limitation, but it's better if you had banks of stuff you could page up/down with.
Keys feel great. Thing looks better in person, for sure. The photos don't really do it justice.
Very, very powerful, when you use the Components software to configure everything... and, a Reaper user created something called DrivenByMoss 4 Reaper, which enhances the "InControl" mode, drastically. Well worth a look, if you're a Reaper or Bitwig user. The Ableton integration is also pretty solid.
All in all, a worthy investment!

The novation SL MKIII 61 is rocking my world right now, If any one is looking for a controller/sub keyboard, I suggest you go buy this right now.
The SL MKIII 61 does so many things at your command such as sequencing,triggering pads,mixing your sounds ect. And the beauty of it is that it’s all in front of you which makes it perfect if you are the sole person recording on a project like me. If I need to have access to a certain function in my recording process the Novation can do it freeing me up from the mouse/keypad.
I have yet to use it out live(i do a solo act with Ableton lite for tracks), but from what I know what it can do in my studio, I know it’s going to make my life a lot easier and more fun playing out
If you are a musician along these lines or looking for a more versatile keyboard command center I’d put all bets on this bad horsie.
