I love this thing. Sounds great, looks great and the size is perfect for sitting on my bench while I play. My only complaints are there is no effects loop and there’s only one channel. Other than that, it’s a great little amp.

As others have written, I too chuckled when opening the box. It’s smaller than I thought it’d be.
However, it can crank. Teamed it up with an Orange PPC12 and scared the neighbors dog.
I appreciate not having 15 dials to create tone.
For the price, you can’t pass it up.
AMS, amazing as usual, speed, easy pay, secure!

So, my wife was helping me clean up my practice space. She accidentally dumped a can of beer over on this head. I was mad. I let it dry out for two weeks and plugged it in. Still works! Still sounds great! This little thing is a tank. I highly recommend!

Honestly bought this because it was open box and thought it would be fun to play around with. I have it plugged into a Marshall 4x12 cab and this absolutely puts out some loud sounds. Clean / Crunch both are versatile and likely what you'd expect out of an Orange amp.

My First Orange Amp, And It's Amazing!

Product Review
First off, I'm a classically trained (G.I.T. Hollywood, and college Segovia classical) guitarist who was looking for a nice practice and recording amp that will fit nicely on a DAW; I just found it!
I'm glad I did not buy the Dark Terror version out of complaints in the reviews abut noise which I hate. This mini terror provides plenty of crunch. However, I did not fancy the JJ Tesla 12AX7 tube in it (read up on your vacuum tube history; they're all garbage now) as it sounds loose on the bottom end and harsh and brittle on the top-end. Silly me; I just happen to own a matched set of BNIB (brand new in box) pair of 1958 USA made CBS 12AX7's made in Davenport with the "Good Housekeeping" seal (you won't see that anymore) printed on the boxes. This amp now comes alive! Quiet operation, sparkly, bright, smooth clear highs with loads of chime, and a tight focused bottom end with lots of power. Perfect for practice and recording.
Thank you Orange for providing a fantastic product, and a special thank you to AMS for letting me rock while I pay!

I paired this with a marshall 2 x 12 slant and its loud enough to gig with and DEFINITLY loud enough to jam with. The tone you can get from this head is soo good. The cleans are warm and vibrant and with the gain cranked all the way you can get some really tight sounding distortion. 10/10

If you've never heard one of these before, you're in for a cheap treat. What a great amp, and at $150 it would be silly not to buy it. Great cleans and crunch. No, you're not getting Rockerverb tones for cheap, but you are getting a great little practice/bedroom amp that you can feed through any cab you have, and I use mine through a 4x12 right now. Outstanding for the price.

This amp has more power than its lunchbox form reveals.
Hooked it up to a peavey classic 410, cranked it up, and rattled the windows at the studio.
I was very impressed. The folks at Orange are great and have loads of information if needed.

Love the amp. I am running the amp through a 2x10 cabinet and it has plenty of power to do the job. The only con I might have is the sensitivity of the Volume and Gain knobs - too sensitive. You have to be very careful to turn them 'just a little' at a time. Other than that, great little amp!

I like the idea of a small amp that can be used for home practice, and recording, but could also be used in a performance setting. I wanted to get a small amp for home practice and recording and I have always wanted an orange amplifier.
I was excited to add this to my collection of amps. It has a “vintage” rock sound and modifying the sound with effects is easy.
It’s versatile, well-built, and fits perfectly on a desk. At 20 watts, you can connect it to any kind of external speaker, including powered desktop speakers or a full cabinet.

I purchased this about 6 months ago. Needed some head for my home studio on a budget and this and it’s twin fit perfectly for my needs. Great time control and sound amazing pluged into just about any cab. If you want that orange terror sound at a decent price good get this head or it’s twin the micro dark terror. Why not get both? I did and no regrets here.

Product Review
I started out with the dark terror, mini head, and was so impressed that I also added this one to my collection. For the price, it’s hard to beat. I love the simplicity of the 3 button control, which allows you to go from good clean to nice crunch, to hard rock. Seems to also respond well to rolling off the volume as well. If you’re curious to see if the hype is true, it is. Just buy one. You’ll love it. I have 2 knocks. First, the lack of the effects loop sucks, the dark terror version has one, wish this one did as well. Second, these babies are loud. You may think that the size, means they’re great for quiet practice. But I found it hard to get them to a quiet volume. It’s a good and bad problem to have!

I was not sure about the thing when I ordered it.
It changed my mine real fast when I plugged it in.
At the house we couldn't get it past volume 1 it was insanely loud and sounds damn good.
So I took it to my studio to do some test recordings, blown by how good it sounded the more you cranked it up.
Decided to try it out in rehearsal as a joke.
This thing was plenty loud and sounded amazing, mind you had to max it out and it sounds its best all the way to ten.
It kept up, mind you, we play metal so we naturally play louder than we need to in rehearsal.

Overall this amp is amazing. It came stock with a JJ tube but I need a different type of gain so I ordered a Tung Sol and this tube was the missing piece. I love the sound I get from this amp for my pop punk, punk rock, pop rock sound. The only thing I didn't like was the headphone jack, it sounds really bad. I wish it had a simulated orange 4x12 cab for the headphone jack. Thinking of trying the micro dark next.

Ive been looking for an affordable, low wattage tube amp to use for practice and small gigs. Well...I found it. This little guy can put out some tones! And YES! You CAN use it a small gigs with a full band. I am using a small cab with 0ne 6" and one 10" speaker running at 8 ohms in series. It is plenty loud! More so with the gain turned up. Ive heard people using this amp with a 4x12 cab. So I took the leap and I can say that I am very glad I did
Made extremely well. Metal chassis, solid controls, nice weight to it.

Your general opinion of this product.
a great sounding amp in a small package! I bought this as an alternative to always having to play through my 100 watt JCM and honestly for home use, it is great! I have been using the Micro 95% of the time for in home use. It has a great tone for how small it is. I also love the tube driven preamp. The amp is very versatile - it can do it all! It is capable of sounding very heavy with an Overdrive tossed in front. Overall, a great and versatile amp for home use/practice.
It seems solid - I have only had it for about a week. No issues thus far. Orange makes a quality product.
The tone is fun to play around with and you can dial in a good amount of different tones - even with just the 3 controls. The "tone" knob is quite responsive. I found swapping out the preamp tube allows you to play around with the sound quite a bit more as well. The amp comes with a JJ tube and I have also tried a Tung Sol and Sovtek. The JJ is great - I just wanted to see how other tubes would react. This little sucker is great to tweak/play around with. It is plenty loud too!
Have not had it long enough to really know for sure but so far it seems solid.

Just got it today. I spent LOTS of time reviewing on the 'net and on Youtube and was very impressed by the reviews and demos. My amp head is an awesome looking piece and is so tiny! When they said a little over 1 lb, they meant it. You can barely see the 12AX7 preamp tube in there, but you can hear it when you crank the gain.
Again, too early to tell but with only 1 tube and a solid state power amp, it's not rocket science.
Your general opinion of this product.
I am stoked. I own another brand's all valve(King) 50w combo that weighs over 40 lbs. I have become disabled gradually over the last 4 years and can no longer drag the "King" on coffee shop gigs. This head plus the discontinued 12" Kustom cab I purchased here is a matched combo.
N/A
I was hesitant with only a tone knob instead of the usual 3 stage eq and occasional bright or deep switch, but the tone works well enough. I have pedals for that and my Strat is equipped with a set of Injector pups which give me quite a tonal spectrum. Besides, the tone with the gain on full is pure Brit.
Finish is A-1. I still have to chuckle at the size of it though. Seriously, its width is about 1/2 a loaf of bread!
Well, mine stunk because I'm nearly 56 years old and an old head banger. I can't shred to save my soul. The amp took about 2 minutes to hook up and start playing, so that's pretty quick.
