Product Review I’m an advancing learner, so decided to invest in a guitar that was a step up in price-point (and quality) from my entry-level model. It has a nice acoustic sound, and the action isn’t too high at all. Overall I’m pleased with the instrument, but there are a few things to note... Although unique, the curvature of the instrument does make it difficult to play, and I’m not small in stature (6’ tall and proportionally long arms). The body is oddly deep because of the curve, and I have found myself adjusting from the couch, to the floor, to a piano bench, to my bed — all in one practice session — attempting time find a comfortable playing position, and often have laid it on my lap. I still haven’t figured it out, and the non-slip material on the resting side of the guitar really doesn’t make a difference to stability. The sound is nice, its design is beautiful, but that curve may be too difficult for most players to maneuver. I’m guessing that I’ll have a year with this model max, before upgrading to a slimmer profile.

Product Review I play mostly metal, and wanted an acoustic that could deliver tone and speed. The 1778TX Elite delivered! This is my second Ovation the previous being a shallow body Celebrity. This one has a deeper, richer tone whether it is unplugged or through an amp. The pre-amp/pickup delivers a well balanced tone. I love the neck! It's one of the things I can't stop bragging to my guitar playing buddies about. It's so thin and smooth and fast. Almost as good as my Ibanez. Great guitar with a great "Metal" look. Played it right out of the box with just a slight tune up with the on-board tuner. Neck relief and intonation was good. String action was low though I may lower it a tad more in the future. If I have any cons it's just that I wish the on-board tuner was chromatic. Not a huge deal, though. Thank you Ovation and AMS for delivering a great instrument!

Product Review I've had this guitar for about 2 weeks now, so I can't speak to it's durability, but it feels rock solid. Unplugged it's got a nice balanced tone, not fantastic but good enough. Plugged in it shines! I run it through a Boss GT-1 and a Bose L1 and it has a lush, full sound that I love! It plays as easily as an electric, and I haven't even changed the strings yet (it comes with 12s, I plan on trying 11s). Highly recommended!

Product Review This guitar sounds, plays and looks awesome. I had the cheaper red one in afganistan while deployed. It took a beating but still played and sounded great. This guitar is with me at all times. Out of the box it was setup perfect as always with this brand.

Product Review Ovations are great guitars. I own other models also. This Ovation is even easier to play than my older Ovation. It is ready to go right out of the box. Sounds great, even better plugged in. Was a little concerned of condition of guitar upon arrival, shipping box and guitar box had serious damage to them. But, guitar was not damaged. Overall, couldn't be happier with guitar, highly recommend Ovation.

Your general opinion of this product. I have owned this guitar for two years now and can say that this is truly a great guitar. The sound is excellent plugged or unplugged. I have been and active musician since the early 70's so I have had some experience with a lot of guitars. A very well made guitar. In my time with it I have never had a problem at all. Everything feels fine. High quality components and hardware. It took me a little bit to get used to the round back but it's never been a real problem. The tone is wonderful. It's a full tone despite the mid depth bowl. Plugged in you can get about any tone that you can use with the equalizer. The action was good out of the box but I wanted it a bit lower so I removed one of the shims from under the pick-up. Now the action is just the way I like it and there's no fret buzz. It looks great. Very high quality finish and fit! It is about the toughest acoustic guitar that I have ever owned. All the hardware and components show virtually no ware after twoo years of regular play.

MY FIRST OVATION

Yes, I think this guitar is well-made. It appears to be durable and will last down the road. I just purchased it , so cannot answer at this time. However the floor model I tried had been there for quite awhile and was probably knocked around by many people and still played and sounded great. Your general opinion of this product. Due to economic stress I unfortunately had to sell my best 6 string acoustic-electric Taylor, so as a gigging player needed a replacement quickly. This black beauty caught my eye and I was really impressed with its look , feel and sound. It sounds good unplugged and terrific through my amp. I am very happy with this ax This Ovation has a great feel; I love the neck which reminds me of the easy action of an electric. The control panel is easy to access and well-done for this reasonably priced guitar. The overall tone is well balanced and the electronics are very substantial with plenty of power. I was looking for a black guitar and I really like the finish on this one, I don't think it looks cheap or plastic-like as others have suggested. The action out of the box was good although I will probably have a tech do a setup after awhile as all guitarist have diverse preferences as far as action is concerned.

Nice Guitar not sure its worth the extra money

seems to be of good quality only had a couple weeks don't see reliability being an issue of concern Your general opinion of this product. Plays nice and sounds nice. I always wanted an ovation and I finally have one. The rounded back does make it a bit slippery to play when sitting down. I never play standing up or with a strap so kinda not really digging it slipping around on my leg.The action is pretty good not quite sure what i was hoping for. Im not totally sure that its worth the extra money over the celebrity. its light and feels good. like a said earlier the rounded back which is of course all ovation is kinda slippery when playing sitting down. very nice and mellow over all tone. Havet really played much with it plugged in. its a flat black finish so kinda hard to mess that up. kinda wishing i had gone with one of the others though since it makes the front of the guitar looks like plastic like the back Was decent typical ovation maybe was hoping a little lower but still really good for an acoustic guitar
