These would probably be fine on their own, but I purchased the pv118 subs to go with them. I power a pair of each with QSC GX7 power amps. Left and right out of the mixer, 1-pv118 and 1-pv215 a side, a GX7 amp running on each side, 100hz crossover engaged. Unbelieveable sound these speakers have. Love Peavey PA products!

Product Review
In my 50 years of playing and performing I never tire of the Peavey sound. About 10 years ago I sold off my massive Peavey system for something lighter and easier to haul. Big mistake. After destroying about a 1/2 dozen 'lightweight' PA systems, I had enough of sounding like my music was being pumped through a Tupperware container and decided to go back to 'real' speakers in 'real' cabs. The sound is great, and surprisingly not as heavy as they appear they might be. With the right power amp, mixer and eq, these things are great! Super happy with them, and worth the slight extra weight to haul around. Now if I can just get my bass player to help move gear...

There's better products out there but for the money these things rule. If you're doing live shows these heavy duty bad boys won't let you down. However personally I needed to get four of these just to do great outside gigs. Also these do not have too much treble like some reviewers have mentioned in the past and all I have to say is that if you know how to properly EQ for loudness you will be golden with these. I also love the way mic'd drums sound through these 215's.

It's plug and play....

Highs can be a little rich...dial em down. Mids are solid, and lows are not very puncy, but if you are for real you are bi amping with a pair of subs anyway.

Seem solidly built, the packaging could be better, the boxes were beat up when I got them, but that's not AMS's deal.
Speakers tend to be fairley featureless, especailly un-powered ones.
Plug them in, doesn't get much easier than that.
They sound great. I've not put a lot through them yet, but they are very clean and crisp on the high end. i haven't gotten a ton of bass response out of them, but i didn't expect to since they are still new.

I own 4 of these. I've had them for about a year. These are a fair speaker for the price. Like most Peavey speakers, they are over-rated on the input power. These speakers handle 350 watts rms, 700 program and 1400 peak. When i got them i didn't read the fine print. I pushed 700 clean undistorted watts rms thru them and fried both woofers in one cabinet. I was only using 2 at the time, and it's just luck i had one channel on my mixing board lower. There are 2 fuses on the crossover board, neither one blew. I've read a lot of people are blowing the hornes on these. I was amazed the horn still worked ok. I was able to order 2 new woofers from a local Peavey dealer. They cost $53 each. If you go to Peaveys web site, you'll see that the woofers in these are 350 watt rms. Peavey should be more honest about the power these handle. I've read a lot of reviews about blown hornes and some woofers. I understand now, why Peavey is making their higher end speakers with re

Heavey steel grill does take the accidental abuse it get and again the PLASTIC 1/4" jacks Bit the big one as for quality.

Well in small venues the horn project well, in venues deeper than 40" I use an old pair of PEAVEY XT-22 horns w/thier own x-overs and a pair of PV118 subs to aid in the low end. I've been reading here and elsewere about the power rating, well it all based on a curve. go to Peavey.com and research it. You don't need 700watts and

QUALITY:
This an entry level cabinet and with that said I think it is ok but my problem with it is the driver (rx-14) is way too light weight for the power that peavey has rated this unit at. Don't think that you will be able to push these at 700 watts for very long because you will smoke them.
I am on my third driver in about four months. Needless to say I will be selling these cabinet as soon as I find a buyer and upgrade to the SP 2.
FEATURES:
The best I can say for this unit is the woofers work well. The Crossover is not up to the job though. As I said before you WILL BLOW THE DRIVERS if you pump the juice to it. I think Peavey should at least put the 14-xt drivers in these units and maybe they will handle what Peavey claims they will.
EASE OF USE:
Plug and play; if you can't deal with that you just need to find a sound tech and hire them.
