I’ve been a professional DJ for years and the only controller that I would use for events is my Pioneer DDJ-SZ. I’ve recently tore my achille tendon and needed a small controller to keep up practicing and also to use for smaller gigs. I bought the DDJ-SB3 with very small expectations. I had planned on just queing and prepping music with it but it happened to be so responsive/precise that I started rocking house parties with it. I love this little powerful controller. The cons is that it doesnt have XLR connections but besides that, I would use it at almost any event outside of scratch battle sessions. Great purchase!!

I am a beginner who has never done anything with beats or any sort of dj equipment ever before. Once I got the controller i found it quick to pick up and use with ease. In a matter of hours I was able to scratch on time with a song to make it smooth and enjoyable. The only real downside I would have about this is not being able to set your FX at different levels since it's all to 1 dial but you can still get a great feel for what you would want in your mix.

I started mixing vinyl back in 1987 and I didn't really want to switch to these modern times. However, I knew I would have to be current and get a controller and I always wanted this specific controller when I first saw it and with the help of AMS I was able to get it. I have mixed on many formats including IPads and even the Monster GODJ and I must say I enjoy this controller the most. It's easy to use and of course the portability is the best part. It's a must have for those who are pro or beginner. Music is my first love and to have the ability to blend beautiful sounds is a true blessing. This controller makes that happen.

I am a huge fan of pioneer and what they did in collaboration with Dj Jazzy Jeff on the DDJ SB 3 is amazing. The pads feel great. Some of the buttons do feel cheap but trust me they aren’t going anywhere. Pair this with Serato Pro and the amazing plugins they have and you’ll be set. No one will know the difference between this set up and a high end set up. It’s amazing and I would highly recommend this to anyone looking for a travel friendly and wallet happy board.

The product shipped w/o any damage to the packaging. I brought the deal that came with headphones. It connected to my laptop and Serato Lite w/o any issues. Be warned that you will need active speakers with a RCA jack for the controller along with the headphones to be able to properly practice. You CAN NOT play it through your computer speakers and the headphones (for monitoring) at the same time. Overall I love the controller. It is perfect for beginners, just enough to learn and not get bored quickly and when you upgrade to Seranto Pro you get more features.

Never thought I'd try to become a DJ I started off doing a house party with a Numark board ”killed it” as one of the best times ever. A few weeks later did a gig at a club........R.I.P... Using the pioneer controller was just as easy to use literally does the same ass the 800+ equipment. If you're a starter DJ don't compare yourself to the next DJ because his equipment is more expensive...its not the equipment it's the guy playing the music. Instructions do not help with troubleshooting and google/ serato isn’t much help so definitely suggest take the time to learn review the product. A lot of great things you don’t wanna miss! Great controller for beginning DJing and also for pros that need something compact to travel to a gig it has all of your basic features and some advance features so if needed for a big job it will still definitely do the job it comes with serato lite but I advise that you upgrade to pro to unlock all it's features only reason it's getting a 4 and not a 5 is because it's a little plasticy but not necessarily cheap feeling but overall great controller

I would highly recommend this dj controller to anyone that hasn't ever been behind a deck, as I was in that same predicament when I purchased this. It is a very simple and easy controller to pick up on.
Although I did have 2 minor but easy to fix setbacks when receiving this controller.
The first was not having a speaker set up which is required to hear sound from the controller. You will need Dual speakers ran by RCA cables.
(the red & white if you aren't aware)
The second minor setback was thst i have a laptop with a AND Ryzen 3 quad core processor which isn't that big of a problem, it just required a little online research and testing different use ports on my laptop.
The hardware WILL run on an AND processor but is just a tad bit more tedious to get everything running smoothly as to having a Mac or Intel processor.

Highly Recommended for DJs who want to travel or have a something to practice on that isn't too heavy. Purchased this for my first DJ mobile set. Easy to set up and very lightweight if you want to pack and go spin some tunes somewhere. It comes with Serato Lite, but you can purchase the full version off Serato's website. Like my caption says best investment ever! Rocked some parties with this deck and it was a smooth transition from vinyl to cdjs.

Always have a great experience with AMS. I purchased this in exchange for another DJ controller. The buttons are solid and don’t stick, the sliders are a little light in weight but it’s won’t distract you from mixing your little heart out. For $250, I’m impressed at how solid this unit feels even though it’s light in weight. It seemlessly syncs with my computer and I used Djay pro 2, instead of the free Serato software it came with. Would highly recommend this controller if you’re just getting into DJ’ing or if you’re an experienced DJ looking for an light-weight on-the-go solution.

I had an SB2 for a while as a backup controller, sold it because I didn't like the layout. I had a gig coming up where I didn't really need to carry my SX3 or SZ. Since the cases are big. So I bought the SB3. I love it! It's light, small and they updated the layout so it's almost exactly like the SX3 or SZ. Glad I bought it. #teampioneer

I bought this for my son to begin learning to DJ. It does not use serato DJ and another subset will need to be downloaded however it’s not a big deal. The assisted scratching function allows my son to hear and see the scratch in real time and he is able to mimic it. The player is built very well, the platters are also built well. Only gripe I have is the headphone input is 1/4 there isn’t the standard size on it.
