Think it’s great! Needed an Apollo Quad. This is just as good if you know how to EQ well.

This product is reasonably priced, powerful, and has a very easy learning curve. I'm always in search of products which can deliver professional results out of the box. The 1818 more than delivers.

I bought this from a local music store with high hopes. Presonus totes this thing as being the best recording interface that uses USB. I cannot say how well this works on a PC but on a Mac it doesn't work very well.
When I first got it, there were issues with distortion and popping sounds on playback and recording, which persons took care of with a future firmware release. Now the unit won't update to the newest firmware. So when this unit does work, it works very well. My advice would be to buy something else.

Physically this unit is pretty solid. Sturdy metal case. Tight control knobs. Overall good build quality.
The functionality, though is another story. The unit produces incessant pops and clicks at all buffer sizes and audio resolutions. This is true for recording and playback. I tried the unit of 3 different machines (2 well-equipped PC's and a MacBook) and tweaked everything as much as possible. The result was continuous pops and clicks. The audio driver is likely to blame. Other 1818 users are complaining of similar issues, so know what you are getting into before you buy. Presonus has yet to update their drivers to address these issues.
8 XLR inputs, SPDIF, zero-latency monitoring and a ton of other potentially great features, all on a USB port. Sounds good, but it simply did not work for me.
Very tricky to set up on a PC. I spent over 2 days trying to get this unit to work, with heavy tweaking and optimization (I am not a computer or recording novice). Drivers are poor at best, and the VSL software is somewhat memory heavy.
Your general opinion of this product.
My recommendation: Do not buy this product! Perhaps Presonus will release better drivers that actually make this a functional unit, but in the meantime, try something else.
If it worked, yes. For me, absolutely not.
Looks pretty sharp to my eyes.
