Extra clean, powerful Crunch. This amp can do both quite well. Being my first Valve amp, it took a bit of experimentation but now I'm just super excited at the tonal variations available.I originally felt I was going out on a limb spending this much money,but now my fears have been put to rest. Excellent investment! Looking forward to many years of excitement to come. Many thanks to Glenn for his help and guidance. AMS can't be beat. Quality products-great finance options! Can't go wrong with a company like this.

I absolutely love this amplifier. The range of tones available are truly exceptional. Most video demos of the Archons are of either the (awesome) cleans, or the (impressive) metal crunch, sometimes both. The few that spent a very short time on the classic/guitar rock overdriven areas of the spectrum made me suspect that this thing had hidden depths. At 1300 bucks, it was a big risk, but I took it. Paid of, big time. Nice, tight, growly Blues, classic rock, and on up to metal. Cleans that are both sparklingly clear and full and tight , at the lower end. With the presence and depth controls, you can dial in exactly how much of each that you'd like to emphasize, both clean and dirty. It looks and feels like a serious piece of equipment. Happy camper, here.
