I have two Presonus TB devices, a Quantum 4848 and a Quantum 2. These are both TB 2, as is this device. They work great and are super fast, almost zero latency, depending upon your processer and RAM. The problem is, TB 4 inputs and drivers do not support TB 2, even with adapters.

Presonus really did an awesome job with this interface. I own a few other interfaces that I have paid a little more for but the sound quality on the quantum 2632 at this price point is well worth it. I highly recommend this one.

Incredibly fast Thunderbolt interface with plenty of I/O

Product Review
Of all of Presonus's Thunderbolt interfaces, this is the most user-friendly. I say this because almost all controls on the unit can be accessed through software rather than having to turn physical knobs on the unit itself. The preamps are digital, so this includes the preamps. From the standpoint of gain-staging, this is invaluable because settings can be pinpoint accurate and saved for future use. No more confusion about settings when moving through projects.
This unit could easily be the centerpiece of a small, or even relatively large project studio. There's plenty of I/O on the unit itself, but it also has multiple methods of pulling in outside data including SPDIF and two optical ADAT ports.
The one caveat is that Thunderbolt, when it comes to PCs, is still a messy, messy beast. Even on newer Windows machines, getting Thunderbolt audio devices up and running is not a simple task as motherboard vendors are terrible about putting up any information related to how their devices actually handle Thunderbolt traffic. Be aware that, while this interface is awesome, Thunderbolt is not a plug and go protocol for Windows machines like USB based devices. There will likely be some setup headaches.

This interface is amazing! From Thunderbolt speed to complete integration with Studio One, the Quantum is the answer, expandability is easy by either ADAT or by daisy chaining another Quantum. Whisper quiet and near nonexistent latency the Presonus Quantum will not disappoint.

The Presonus Quantum runs in such low latency thanks to its Thunderbolt connectivity, that it beats many PCI, Firewire and USB audio interfaces without breaking a sweat. I'm routinely getting a comfortable 1-3ms overall latency in Ableton Live 10 and Logic Pro X. Additionally, the two pair of ADAT/lightpipe ports let's me hook up an additional 16in/16out providing my patchbays with enough I/O for all my instruments and outboard equipment. You really can't go wrong with this interface.

The Presonus Quantum has been everything I wanted, and needed it to be.
The pre-amps, are warm and not at all noisy. I had some challenges getting it setup in Cakewalk Sonar Platinum, but once I got it all spun up, it has been absolutely flawless.
Best of all, latency is ridiculously low (like 2ms round-trip).

I have never owned a better interface. Ridiculously low latency. Less than 2ms round trip on my MacBook Pro i7 quad 2.6ghz at 32 buffer in Studio One 3. I could track 2 tracks into a full mix and master without the CPU flinching. Similar performance in Reaper, as well. Conversion is top notch and very comparable to my Benchmark DAC to the point that I may even sell it. I love the fact the line in’s bypass the preamps as I have several killer pres already that I know won’t be going through the xmax. That said, the xmax are great utility preamps and sound solid. They won’t hold you back from a great recording if it’s all you have. Best sound card, ever.
