Something called to me about this guitar and I was not disappointed. I play progressive metal, tuned down to A#. So getting a six string with a relatively classic output pickup in the bridge and a single coil D in the neck doesn't make sense on paper. However, I slapped some heavier strings on, adjusted the truss, saddles, and nut, and it plays and intonates perfectly, and the TONE! So rich with beautiful harmonics and overtones. It's literally the sound I've been chasing my whole life. Paul Reed Smith is a master, and the S2 line holds that standard well. I actually prefer this to my old custom 24.

Great feeling neck and jumbo sized frets. Has a tele sound to it but with a little more grit thanks to the humbuckers. Cleans sound awesome. Dirty has just enough. Bridge pickup isn't super hot, so wouldn't recommend metal, but great for rock or blues. Nice lightweight guitar as well. Love the shape of the body, it distincts itself from other guitars.

Great instrument, a featherweight compared to many other guitars. Pattern Regular neck fills my hand perfectly...much better IMO that the old wide thin. Well balanced, the finish is flawless, fretwork it amazing...love the "D" pickup in the neck position. Clean and articulate no matter how much grit I set on the amp. Gig bag is okay too...lots of pockets hooks, shoulder straps etc, but as I am not a "gigging musician" I don't care that it did not come with a hard case.

Only complaint is I waited 3+months and the neck has dot inlays instead of birds.

Awesome guitar....PRS has made a perfect guitar for a reasonable price.
Better than a Les Paul.
