I recently purchased these speakers and they are amazing! I’m a mobile DJ, so powered speakers are perfect for me. The ease of set up and not having to do to much fine tweaking, makes my life that much easier! They sound amazing, and and when paired with the subs, it’s unmatched!

I am a full time sound man and have used the QSC KW153 every weekend for about 8 months. I use them mostly for large weddings and some smallish outdoor shows. I run them (2 of them - 1 each side, of course) with 2 Carvin powered 2x18 (2,500 watts each). They are very good for up to about 250 people. I run them in external sub mode so they are getting nothing below 125hz.
I have used them a few times without the subs and the low end is ok. I can run a full band in a small club (about 100 people) and still get some decent kick drum thump.
I have not used them for DJing, but the 152s have enough boom for small weddings so I imagine these would also.
The sound is pretty good, but the throw is fairly narrow. Most of what I do is try to get the sound great on the dance floor and these do a good job. Now of course everyone in the house can hear them, but the vocals are best within the 70 degree output pattern. If I have to cover a wide area I will use 2 per side because the throw is narrow.
They have the same amp as all the QSC KW and K series, but with the added mid driver I think they are a bit clearer than the KW152. I have used KW152s for years, but always pole mount them to get the horn above the audience's heads. With my Carvin 2x18s I can just ground stank the KW153 and it's tall enough to not need a pole. This is way better because eventually all the poles tilt and look bad.
If you buy this then do yourself a favor and get the protective bag. It's expensive (like around $80), but it is worth every penny. Even with the bag my KW153s get banged around pretty good. If I didn't have the bag they would chip every time I crammed them in my van.
They are not light, but I can get them up on a speaker by myself. You want a hand truck to move them in for load in as they are too heavy to carry for long distances.
I do recommend them and will continue to use them until I can afford a proper line-array

The KW153 is not as heavy as it looks and is easy to place on top of my two K181's. The sound is clear and punchy. I went from the k12 tops to these and my kick drum and low is more defined. I love them and glad I made the purchase! QSC never disappoints me. Thumbs up!!!!

I have a high energy rock band{Grand Funk. J.Geils, Springsteen etc. 3 part harmonies,a CP4 stage piano, 5 piece in total. I bought the JBL 735s but the back panel and housing on both cabinets rattled and buzzed at low frequencies. The overall sound was good but I refuse to pay that kind of money for a cheaply built product. So I took a major hit to trade them in for the QSC 153s. Thank God I did. They cost more although GC gave me a good discount and I could not be happier with EVERYTHING about these speakers. Overall sound is far superior to JBL. Vocals, keys, everything ! Just a better balance from lows to highs. The band thought I was crazy to get rid of the JBLs due to some buzzing sounds, but they are praising my decision now ! I must say for extra large venues or outside, I bought 2 DXR 15 to give an spl level boost and the combination Of the QSCs and DXR15 is well.. let's just say a wall of sound !Probably won't need that much power often, But I got it. QSC 153 are phenomenal.

Best 3 way I have ever heard !! Truly HD ! Loud & Clean !! I fly them either horizontally or vertically on my box truss and adjust the tilt to cover just the right spots ! Small gigs and rooms I sit the on the KW 181 's and they sure do what they are supposed to ! I dont run the 153 in the external sub mode but make the box work out ! The combo 18 with the 15 punching is great !

These speakers look and feel solid and well built. The thermal protection and limiting are great features to protect the speaker from overloading the inputs.
Lots of input/output connections. Speakon would have been nice, but not necessary. Deep feature sounds good for outdoor applications, not really needed indoor. Direct connection for microphone is good.
Easy to set up. Good manual. It was a little challenging to find the right stand for it though due to it's shape and size.
Great sound. It can output very loud with no noticeable distortion. Sounds good at low to medium volumes as well. Nicely balanced.
Your general opinion of this product.
I would definitely buy again. Perhaps someday I'll buy another set to surround the dancefloor. I'm also considering a pair of KW181 subs, not that it's necessary, but it should take it to the next level. Also I'd like to stack them on the subs to raise them.
