For $10 you can get a surprising amount of sounds out of this little marvel. It's definitely worth the small investment

Product Review
I sometimes play street percussion in downtown Las Vegas and I usually attract a fairly good crowd. But like any musician I want a larger crowd (and more tips). So I thought maybe I should add something new to my performance. The Remo Thunder Tube looked interesting so I got one. It is very easy to play, it's fun, and there are many different ways to play it, each way you play it produces a different sound. So just a few hours after I received it in the mail I decided to perform downtown and add the Thunder Tube to my performance. I did attract a bigger crowd and they seemed to stick around a bit longer to watch me play. (And yes, the "extra" tips more than paid for the Thunder Tube. Much more.) This may be the best $10 I have spent in a long time.

Feels to be solidly built. No need to worry about the tube collapsing or the spring ripping out.
Not only can you create a sound of thunder, but you can also create interesting effects by hitting the spring with or against something solid.
Sure, it doesn't sound EXACTLY like thunder, more like a hollow distant version of it. Takes a little practice with getting the appropriate loudness.
Your general opinion of this product.
A nice sound effect, best suited for quiet situations, as its low volume could be easily drowned out.
Certainly a much cheaper alternative to sheets of bronze that cost hundreds of dollars.
Lightning says is all.
