I went away from RME several years ago on the Apollo bandwagon. Really I am just recording and my band mate mixes on an Apollo and that is grand because we don’t need tons of outboard gear— their software is great. But I missed RME! The routing and software are unparalleled: any input can me mixed to any output in Total Mix! It’s magical, transparent and simple. Apollo made me wish for death every time a situation of routing changed… and I never got it to route audio from the Internet well. The Pre amps are clean, clean, clean! The outputs are digital, midi, abalogue… so easy

RME Fireface 802
Solid interface!! Also have the FireFace 800, excellent. Plenty of I/O, "Line Level"headphones jacks....YES headphone jacks. Quality, well rounded conversion of audio (Vocals, Instrumental, etc)
Endless internal routing, Screen view auto adapts (24 inch display, 13"laptop screen) Use as Live mixer without the computer. Rock solid clock. Daisy chain 2 units via "firewire" (If you have that still :))
Very usable built-in effects section (CPU saver)
This product stands TALL among many if not ALL the products on the market. Hearing is believing.
Worth the $1700 dollars.
