I love this mixer, it’s fast well thought out and it sounds amazing when using analog sources. For me the best feature is the screen. You get a kaos pad, needle drop options, a place to browse your library that you can actually see, and full to access the mixer settings with out a computer. If your workflow is mostly on the computer and you don’t really use effects expressively it’s kind of waste and you would be well suited with a different mixer. I will also say that the menu system can be a little convoluted but nothing you can grasp in a day or two. Five stars no more staring at the computer

After using another brand that I won’t name and finally buying this mixer, I can honestly tell you that the Rane Seventy Two is theTruth, the features are top notch, the fader feels and responds great, the touch screen xy effects was a pleasant surprise. I am enjoying this mixer. My honest opinion is if you’re trying to decide to get or not, I recommend that you get it. You won’t be disappointed????

This mixer It is well worth the money!!! It has so many features, and the crossfader is like butter. The pads are very responsive. I can honestly say I was not quick to pull the trigger on purchasing this mixer...I felt like it was just too fancy and flashing for me. Too many bells and whistles. I’ve always been a Rane DJ and I stood by their product over everything else on the market when it came to mixers. Once owned the TTM56, I still have the TTM57, and Sixty-Two. Hands down the Seventy-Two is the best mixer I have ever had! WOW!! The built and quality of this Mixer is second to NONE! It’s just a F**KEN BEAST!! I Would rate this mixer at a 5 star but nothing in this world is perfect. My only complaint is make sure that your Serato software and mixer firmware is up to date... I had it freeze on me one time while playing live in a club, at peak hours, and the only fix was to turn it off and back on to reset and fix the issue. Updated after, never happened again. It’s was perfectly imperfect 1 time. Don’t @ me bout the issues I’ve experienced with the S9, BUT BUY THE SEVENTY-TWO!! You won’t be disappointed.

This is a phenomenal mixer! I love the variety of features, the sturdy build, the Serato DJ Pro integration- (SDJP is a must - no other Serato Versions will work, sorry). This is a bigger than average mixer so you’ll have to get a new case if you plan to travel. Odyssey has a few to choose from so no issues there. There are XLR, 1/4”, and RCA ins and outs for all DJ Booth/Club Set-up you want to go with. Kudos to Rane for adding dual USB hubs. I like the easy switch between Laptops if your sharing the 72. Ergonomically speaking; the controls are a little busy but you’ll get used to them in no time at all. I’m not a fan of the push button cues, I prefer a fader but again, you’ll get used to it. The Mag3 faders are magical. The will float from side to side in a really good way if you tilt the mixer. I did have to open the face plate to adjust them. If you’re a turtablist that should be expected. Be careful not to touch the rails as the lubricant will wipe off and cause the fader to drag a little. It doesn’t change the performance it just feel a micro fraction less smooth to the touch IMO. So don’t touch when adjusting to keep that “buttery” feel. If your in the club, the effects combinations will level up your set. You have A TON of independent channel effects that you personalize through the length, depth, Reverb and other little tweaks that you’ll love doing. All effects are not accessible without your computer or in normal vinyl play :( though. With that said, I especially LOVE playing with the LP/HP filter! You can use the dedicated knobs or use the X/Y Axis on the touch screen. Speaking of which my only complaint about that is that the wave form is just a hair behind the computer’s wave form. This makes solely using it alone without referencing your computer unreliable for my taste, although most won’t care. I’m sure Rane will do an update to correct that. As a long time AKAI MPC user, I must say that the pads on the 72 are way better than on any other mixer hands down. Other feel stiff by comparison. The Rane 72 and the AKAI X share the same MPC pads. So they are just as ultra responsive on the 72 as with the X. Pad assignment are super quick and easy to program and reprogram. I wish the 72 had the same dedicated loop section that found on the Rane 70 but not enough to sacrifice the touch screen for it. Overall I don’t think the 72 is as tactile for battle scratching as the 70 but, I think this is a standout mixer that I would recommend overall for all applications. Rane has come out with a mag 4 fader that I want to swap out (I just want the latest and greatest) so I really want to try that out. There’s a lot more that I can say about this mixer but I think you just really need to get you own hands on one and decide for yourself. I love mine and I’m keeping it. See you guys on deck!!

THE crossfader and cue select really stand out.
I dont really dislike anything about the 72 its hard to get everything in one mixer but i miss the seperate high and low EQ on the MICS but love the echo on mic one and love the touch screen ,got mine back in april/may 2019 .its is everything i expected and a lot more.I GOT THE RANE 12S and the 72 set up GREAT PRODUCT,EXCELLENT SOUND "GO RANE" shout to AMS and JOSH

The Rane Seventy Two is the best overall mixer in its class. This mixer gives you all of the functionality to perform and win any DJ battle competition. As a long time Rane user, I was a bit skeptical of getting into this monster. Technology continues to update and seeing a mini computer screen and drum pads on a mixer can make classic Rane mixer users a bit uneasy. But I took the leap, and I can happily say, it’s still the Rane mixer we all love and respect! Build quality and feel is as strong as all the previous makes and models. I can't say enough about the greatness of this mixer, but... I would have given it a 5 but the headphone volume is absolute rubbish. I had to buy a headphone amp to boost the sound. If you do this you'll be good to go. I had to find out the hard way, gigging in a major club, and couldn't hear squat. Luckily I practice at home without headphones or I would have had a panic attack, lol. Other than that, you can't go wrong with these. I went from years of using a Numark controller, to this, with only one day of practice, my controller took a dump and I was forced to break this mixer out, with the tables... It was like I had them for years. They were so easy. I use it/them all the time now...

Love it. Works great. Sound at private event and clubs is superb. It has allowed me to play with lower gains and the sound is always strong. a few negative key points.. I wish I could record my mix and microphone at the same time. I haven't figured that out yet. and Looping and Hot cues can't be done at the same time. It has to be one or the other. Just those two complaints. Other than that. This is a great product worth every dollar.

This is the best mixer on the market! I had the one and only Biz Markie use my mixer and he normally uses the Pioneer. He said this mixer Was dope! The features alone on this mixer was enough to purchase it! I can’t wait to hook up my Rane Twelve to it! I went from the 57 to the seventh two. It’s easy to hook up and easy to use! I especially like the LP/HP filters on there. I’ve used this mixer at a in and the changeover between 2 DJ’s is seamless! I love the mic and USB ports on there! The Rane 72 is an awesome piece of equipment and is leading the class with all the internal functions and durability. So many dope effects and ways to be creative. I love the mixer and the added functions are great but not needed.I DJ a lot of concerts, clubs/bars and private events & the 72 and 12s were a no brainer for me. I’ve have the 72 since July(2018). Overall it’s great but there are still some issues Rane has to work out. The past few weeks the touch screen has frozen multiple times during my sets and I was unable to use any functions of the touch screen(no touch effects, no manual BPM abilities) I’ve also noticed that it picks up static when you touch it causing a minor pop sound, never had that issue on any other mixer. Rane said they are looking into it. Overall a great mixer that fits in nicely with turntables, CDJs/media players and of course the Rane 12s. You can also use this mixer as a stand alone and use the pads to control the internal playback functions. Rate 9/10

I'm big on effects and there are no shortage of effects with the 72. This thing takes my setup to a new level. I'm doing things that would make you think I have a full studio. I'm glad I waited for the Rane 72.

This is my first ever Rane mixer purchase and I must say it was a great investment. The build quality is amazing and all the features you could possibly want and need. I give this 10 stars if I could and American Music got it to me fast even with the backorder.

Rane 72 love this mixer the pads are extremely responsive, great fader feel with lots of custom options and endless possibilities. The fact that you can tighten the tension on the up faders and the cross fader when I’m doing my scratching or blend mixes is just perfect. One of the best mixers I have ever own. Thank you AMS also for such great customer service and knowledgeable representatives.

Way better sounding then s9 and it’s built way better than previous rane models.
Wish the eq control nobs were backlit. Wish all rane mixers were champagne proof. Things get really crazy in my dj booth.

The Rane Seventy Two has game changer features in a familiar layout with amazing sound! This mixer has multiple functions and can utilize up to three effects engines as well as a touch screen for viewing wave forms, touch modulation of effects and tap tempos and easy viewing of cue points and mix correction. This first alone is reason enough to go with the Seventy Two but after cutting on the new Mag3Fader, I'm in love. The size is something that takes a bit of getting used to but a superior mixer is going to have a descent footprint. Rane has built this mixer to strict standards and the unit is solid as a rock. Steel effects switches, rail guards for the front mixing panel where fader adjustments and reversal are possible. There is a bonus on the Seventy Two, two mic inputs. Independent control and tone which for this working mobile dj are heaven sent. Now I can lend out my wireless but I don't have to chase the person that just gave their toast before I address the crowd!

Rane knocked it out of the park this time! I’ve owned the ttm57 the 62 and 68. The pads and pots on all the older models felt cheap, and I did have to replace them a few times. This mixer is definitely built to last!

This mixer does it all, it’s like the 62 and s9 on Steroids. The effects , pads, faders and sound quality are all on point . Best Investment you can make on a battle mixer. And ordiner it from AMS was great, I had mixer with less then a week from ordering it. And everything was smooth . Even the customer services was good as I called to find if it was available. I recommend AMS and he rane 72

This is a great mixer. The sound quality is better than the s9 . You have two mic’s which I like. Also like the effects section and the screen. I own the s9 and the rane 64 and iam here to tell you the rane 72 is a beast!
