I love this device. It syncs well with my TD3 and allows me to remix my tracks with its Beat Machine. It is difficult to learn if your totally new to the DJ game, but it is right for the more experienced producer type specialist. Understanding midi control and creating patterns will take a little time. If you master this, you will have plenty of Arsenal from hooking them old skool turntables mixing vinyl to live modulations and Serato sound user friendly system. Bad ass!

I think this a very accommodating piece of DJ equipment. The use for simple mixing is great, and the hard stuff made easy. I also want to say that Roland company was very gracious when one of my cue's went on me, they replaced it at no charge.

I was so happy and optimistic with buying this product but, honestly since I've had it I had play/stop problems on both decks. I should have complained sooner but, I thought it was my laptop. I did research this product before purchasing, as I do with any purchase. Roland just told me to take it into a service shop & I just bought this 5-6 months ago. Nobody can DJ anywhere, let alone a party if you have your mix interrupted with these problems.
I have submitted a service request to Roland but, I have noticed that many others are also having the SAME problems! I did hear of a couple reviews with this problem but, sometimes that kind of stuff is due to user error. So, I wanted to give it a shot since it's a newer product from Roland than the DJ808.
I am regretting it now. I don't want to be left with nothing while waiting months for my service. And then, more than likely whatever comes back may still have the same problems since it is a common one.
This really sucks because I thought Roland was a well trusted brand.

I bought this as a replacement controller when mine started having issues. It’s a huge bonus that it has a drum machine. It makes being creative while mixing a really fun and cool experience. The lights make it look really cool and it’s very user friendly. Jog wheels are quality and good for scratching. Basically everything I was looking for

This mixer/controller does it all! All you need as a dj or beat maker. Everything is integrated and performs flawlessly. The 808 drums make it the best of both worlds. The performance pads are very responsive for finger drumming.if you are a scratch dj, you will love the jog wheel. I think this is the best controller out there. Glad I made this purchase with AMS!!!

The controller was malfunctioning from the start. The right side was making its own cue points. American Musical was great sending me another one. After a few months the replacement started malfunctioning as well. The right side would stop playing. Cue points are also a little stiff. The drum machine portion was fun to play around with but other than that I would not recommend.

Initially I was very happy with my Roland dj 505, now not so much. If I’m gigging I dare not try any scratching from the right platter because it will freeze the song and I’ll have to restart controller and software. When I’m practicing at home and I’m cutting between decks it’s almost a guarantee that the right deck will freeze.

I've used turntables since I was 15, after getting booked for gigs and only being able to take the train & bus, I got a dj controller for the portability. I've used several over the years, but wow..nothing competes with this Roland DJ 505. Its still easy to fit in a bag or suitcase for travel, it has XLR outputs along with RCA which has always been something lacking in my previous controllers, and the platters are also really good for scratching. Its also not too heavy. But the main thing for me is the drum sequencer. I've produced just as long as I have been a DJ, a big part of my live set would be brining a mpc or midi controller doing drums while I spin. When I saw the 505 I knew I had to get it. It allows me to make remixes on the spot, with classic drum machine sounds or trigger my own loaded samples. Theres a ton of features as well like changing the velocity, and running the drums through fx, sync with whatever music is playing, and more.

The drum sequencer makes it easy to create beats on the fly or just add some power to an older song. I was overwhelmed with all the features at first and also new to serato but after a couple weeks I feel like it’ll be easy to utilize all the features I need and without any upgrades to serato!

I decided to purchase this DJ controller because i have the DDJ-SZ and that thing is really heavy. This controller is easier to set-up and has a great sound to it. The buttons and platters work for my needs. I haven't had a chance to really play with the 808's but from messing with it, i'm really excited to learn all of the features.

I have been a dj for 20 years and never thought I would switch completely over to a controller. I have tried many but this thing keeps my attention bc of the Trs. It’s very professional and user friendly. The weight of it is light while still having a Pro appearance for my gigs. Sound quality is actually better than my last Pro Rane mixer.

This was the best surprise investment. I got this as a gift for my bf. It’s extremely portable, so you won’t have to worry about carrying additional cases for each turntable. It’s pretty much similar to the Roland 808 just more compact. The pads are very responsive. The only thing he wishes it had is a dual usb input & a tracking marker on the platter. But other than that, this controller has been nothing but Amazing!

I’ve owned & tried a handful of controllers over the years and this one is my favorite. I was reluctant to buy at first because Roland is not known for DJ equipment but then remembered they make some of the best drum machines & synths in the business. The build is great and well thought out. With Serato/ableton sync and the midi output on the unit you could really jam out with this thing.
