This is my 2nd Silvertone Reissue, I also have the 'Jupiter'. Both guitars have such a sweet innocent tone that you won't find anywhere. Design and craftsmanship are bullet proof and solid. Totally professional guitars in the low range. Many $400-500 guitars miss on one or two features, or have quality issues. I don't have that feeling here. The vintage vibe is so strong. Everything is carefully crafted. Basically, these are strong voiced vintage sounding instruments with simple, pure, innocent tone. If you can pluck a few notes and chords you'll sound fantastic. Very unique.

A well made instrument, great sound, good looks and wonderful playability!! Love the Daphne Blue! I have had cheap guitars, expensive guitars, USA guitars and some made over seas. This one is as good as many I have had.

My brother owns an original 1964 model. I've always enjoyed playing his when I would visit him. Once I saw the reissue I immediately ordered one. I purchased the blue one. I was blown away by the finish, build quality and playability. This guitar has a better feel and sound than my brothers vintage axe. You absolutely cannot go wrong with this guitar. One of the best values for the money out there. I would recommend this item to anyone.

I've wanted a 1449 ever since seeing Flat Duo Jets perform in Athens GA in the early 80's but I never seemed to have the money when I came across a vintage one for sale. I finally had enough cash that I bought one this week. Just about every single new guitar, USA, MiM or Asian built has needed truss rod and string height adjustment of some kind, no exception.....until this one! I took it out of the box and except for being just slightly out of tune it was perfect!! I tuned it up and havent felt the need to adjst a single thing. The pickups sound great, not thin and weak like so many other repro lipstick tube pickups, the tuning machines, though the ratio is a touch quick, are also stellar. The fit, finish and construction are nicer than any other $339 guitar i've ever owned. This one is a definite keeper! I wouldnt hesitate to use it as my main guitar at a gig. I may purchase a second one to keep in open g tuning!

Amazing guitar for the price. I own a Fender custom shop Strat and a Les Paul...and this guitar holds its own against them. I have have not had any problems with strings popping out as another reviewer said.
Here is my little secret....I had a Duncan little 59 PAF
installed in the bridge...it just fits...so it does not spoil the look. This guitar is solid mahogany as is a Gibson SG...so with the pickup change this guitar sounds very much like an SG I once had.
Yes folks with this set up...you can have a guitar that shreds like the best of them. Even with the pickup mod
this guitar did not cost me much. I just love the look on other guitarist face when they hear it!!!!

Great looking guitar, plays about as well as a guitar in it's price range can! But if you're looking at this guitar, you are like me----looks over playability. This isn't a shredding guitar, it's for banging out garage licks!! There is only one issue that needs to be addressed: you'll have to install a string tree on the high E and B strings. If you don't, the E string WILL pop out of the nut if you play hard at all. This is a simple fix that should only cost $25 at a guitar shop. But the angle and length that the E string has to run at is pretty crazy. Also if you look at pictures of old real 1449 guitars that are playable, most have a string tree installed. So should you buy it?? YES. Then run it over to a guitar tech to set it up!
