This guitar isn't the beat one in the world, but it isn't the worst. I'm actually in the midst of returning the guitar for a replacement because the bridge toggle does not work. It only sends sound through the amp if the toggle is on treble. The knobs were placed wrong, so I had to do some adjustments myself. For the amount of adjustments I needed to make for this guitar to truly work, I decided to send the original back. I'm not totally unsatisfied, but it is definitely a beginner guitar best suited for individuals who ONLY need a practice guitar to learn. If you perform, this guitar will need a lot of work. I am glad the hardware stopped working before the returns policy went out. Hopefully, my replacement will be much better. fingers crossed.

after the back order waiting period, this guitar arrived very quickly. the sound is very good, over all i am satisfied with it for the price range.
When the SSL3 arrived, i did notice the pic guard was already scratched and i did not get the replacement set of strings from the manufacturer. I did order two sets of heavier strings to put on it.
Over all i am satisfied with this guitar package, the ten watt amplifier that was included, i did not expect what i got, this little amplifier goes above and beyond with this guitar. I would strongly recommend the SSL3 package to any one for a first electric guitar.

I purchased this all in one starter kit for my young son for his birthday. Everything was nicely and securely packaged. The guitar has a beautiful quality finish and actually sounds really warm... even through the little amplifier that it ships with. The action on the strings is dead on and the electronics are quality (no buzzing or popping when switching between pickups or adjusting tone and volume). The amplifier isn't the loudest (probably best for a beginner anyway) but does switch between clean and dirty and has a pretty good sound. This setup comes with a pretty sweet gig bag and adjustable strap, tuner and several picks to experiment with. Basically, this kit comes with everything you'll need to play in and win your first talent show... and as an added bonus, the guitar is sweet enough to keep in your collection as you add upgraded equipment and other guitars to it.

Ok. This is a great instrument. Has great tone and beautiful paint job. Here the reason I gave it 3 stars. When I got this thing, it was the wrong color. Luckily I liked the cherry burst color so that wasnt an issue. The lower E string was broke, truss rod was out of wack and the intination was way off. After a few hours of re stringing and tinkering with it I finally made it playable. Great instrument but I think the company needs to review their QC. Had I been a beginner with no knowledge about guitars I probably would have sent it back.

Out of state order arrived the day after it was shipped. Very Impressive! I'm still tinkering with instrument, adjusting bridge heights, etc. Installed Ernie Ball Super Slinky strings, original strings too dull and twangy metallic. Not too happy with twangy timbre I'm still getting off low E and A strings, but I'm still tinkering. Originally wanted Epiphone Les Paul, but was out of price range. My Fender Squire has better timbre. I'm tinkering with it, but did expect a little better quality for the money spent. Nice little amp. Would not have ordered instrument had I had researched and realized it was made in China, probably cost $7 USD to manufacture.

Good beginner Setup

Your general opinion of this product.
I'm new to playing the guitar, so I bought this kit so I had everything. I think it's good, I had to have some adjustments made to allow for ease of playing, but overall a good value. I bought this package 8/2010 and it has suited me, but now I'm looking to upgrade to a something else.
Overall, it's good. The finish on the neck feels almost plastic, so it doesn't allow for the "glide" you might want while playing.
Action was good, I had to lower it to allow for ease of bar chords

it was made very well. you could have this guitar for years is you chose to
it has been very reliable so far. the only thing i didn`t like was that the guitar gets scratches and dents fairly easily.
Your general opinion of this product.
this is a great guitar for intermediate guitar players.
the playability was really good. the guitar was kinda heavy though.
the tone was nice and bluesy
the finish is amazing and a whole lot better than the picture.
the action was pretty good. i did change the strings to ernie ball though.

A GREAT GUITAR FOR THE PRICE.

FEELS, SOUNDS, AND PLAYS LIKE A MORE EXPENSIVE GUITAR
NOT HAD IT TO LONG BUT FOR NOW I PLAY IT PUT IT UP NEXT TIME I GO PLAY ITS STILL IN TUNE. VERY SOLID GUITAR
Your general opinion of this product.
OVERALL THE GUITAR IS A VERY GOOD ADDTION FOR ANYONE, IT PLAYS LIKE A MORE EXPENSIVE MODEL. THE ACTION NEEDS TO BE WORKED ON BUT ITS NOT BAD RIGHT OUT OF THE BOX, VERY PLAYABLE. WHEN YOU PICK IT UP IT HAS A GOOD FEEL AND YOU WOULD THINK YOU WERE HOLDING A MUCH MORE EXPENSIVE GUITAR.
PLAYS GREAT, FEELS GREAT, THAT REALLY SAYS IT ALL.
GREAT TONE, I HAVE A FENDER STRAT AND I REALLY LIKE THE SOUND I GET WITH THIS GUITAR BETTER.
I DID NOTICE ON THE FINNISH THAT THERE WERE SOME IMPERFECTIONS BUT NOTHING REALLY SO BAD AS TO SEND IT BACK. A LITTLE FISH EYEING GOING ON.
A LITTLE WORK ON THE ACTION WOULDNT HURT BUT OUT OF THE BOX AGAIN VERY PLAYABLE.

The workmanship appears to be excellent.
Just got it but so far is doingvery well.
Your general opinion of this product.
Excellent. Very high quality.
Very playable a feels like a much more expensive guitar.
Tone is clear and crisp and has a wide range of adjustment. Blues or rock, both sound good.
Excellent. Vintage Sunburst.
Action is good. Have changed to Gibson, ultra-light strings which made an improved difference.

Silvertone SSL-3 is Great!
By: Walter Abington from North Platte, NE USA

This is a very well-made instrument well suited for beginners. The first shipment was damaged in transit. AMS did a great job of getting my damaged guitar back to them and had an replacement sent to me in a few days. Customer Service is excellent.
The second time I received this package, everything inside was in perfect condition. I had it playing in no time. The included tuner was the best I've used.
I did not like the plastic dials and had to spend several minutes taking them off and putting them back on so that the numbers matched the volume. One knob was loose and I had to tighten the nut under the knob. I would like to see metal or heavier dials. i would also like to see a hard case for this instrument as it will be well used for many years to come.
So far so good and still in tune. I play it every day.
Your general opinion of this product.
An excellent guitar of choice for beginners. The amplifier does what it is supposed to do, get the sound out! It is easy to set up, but my only complaint is the feed back and hum that i can not adjust out of the amplifier.
The guitar feels like an instrument that demands to be played from the first time it is picked up and plugged in. It is beautifully well-made and a great replacement for those who may not be able to afford a Les Paul.
Tone is good. The knobs take some getting used to and to adjust. Over all, it sounds great.
Good action. The speed may be slow for some. I noticed the strings could have been adjusted closer to the fret for quicker action but not impossible to play.

Awesome finish, really stands out.
just bought this package and really is worth a lot more, the guitar itself is alone worth the cost.
Your general opinion of this product.
really satisfied w/ the package.
being used to a strat for sometime, it took a couple of days to get used to the Les Paul shape,
great tone w/ volume up or down, even better w/ distortion.
haven't had to make any adjustment on the action at all.

Your general opinion of this product.
QUALITY:
simply amazing, rivals much more expensive gibson and epiphones les paul.
FEATURES:
decent features, for a great price. good amp for practice, tuner works, but ify bag and strap.
EASE OF USE:
just start playing.
VALUE:
this guitars value blows any other more exspensive les pauls throw the roof. dirt cheap price for amazing qaulity.
SOUND:
the sound this bad axe creates is amazing... sounds as good as the gibson standard. all though a better amp is needed to let the guitar sound like the guitar it is. perfect blues, classic rock, hard rock feeling.
