Wow, this is definitely an amazing guitar!! It is definitely a shredding guitar for sure, if you play blues or jazz as well, at first the neck is a little different, it being so slim, but after a while you get use to it and it’s amazing, so fast and the DB boost is a nice addition.
I’m a big Dream Theater fan. I love it, I’m so glad that I have this amazing guitar.

Product Review
I'm sure a few people out their had a similar feeling of uncertainty like I did upon unboxing this guitar. It weighs next to nothing and for the money I paid I expected it to have more, I don't know, substance maybe? Either way in my mind it wasn't what I imagined it would be. I already knew it wasn't going to come with the DiMarzio pickups but before I bought this guitar I have never been able to afford anything more than a few hundred bucks. Some of those cheap guitars played nicely enough after I set them up, I didn't really think a more expensive guitar could feel any better in my hands and figured the only difference would be in the tone and quality grade of the electric components and hardware. I setup this guitar immediately. It played great out of the box but the true telling would be how it performed after I set it up and it immediately became the best damn guitar I've ever laid my hands on. It made playing fun again and in the last month I've reached some technique mile stones because of the playability. Primarily tapping and sweep picking. Really fast neck. The tone is very warm and the extra gain from overdrive switch makes it balls out scream without the DiMarzio's so I'm over that particular con. It has far more pro's to make the lacking of the DiMarzio's not matter at all to me.

Product Review
The features and Sterling’s reputation were a important reason I took the risk of buying the MA100. The body is light and the medium D shape neck are responsive to many playing styles.
The locking tuners work well with tremolo work (and occasional abuse) and in general use don’t need adjustments. The neck is not super thin. There is some heft to it but it’s more Fender like in feel. It plays fast.
The pickups sound good. They get the job done. Perhaps because I am processor based and use several effects (Headrush Gigboard, Eleven Rack, pedals and or DAW based effects in a studio environment) but through my Orange Amy the guitar sounds fine. Per Sterling tech support the pickups are based on the ones in the American made models. And they are close.
When I checked with other users the one thing mentioned most was how inspiring it was to play and I feel similarly. I find I use it far more frequently than my other much more expensive guitars.
Much of what the guitar is used for is high volume, overdriven sound and the Majesty does a great job. It is more flexible than I expected. The tone control when backed of creates a very passable Gibson sound. The natural voicing is twangy when clean to jangly slightly overdriven. When pushed it cuts through anything. I was pleasantly surprised.
In conclusion the Majesty MA100 is fun to play, built well, and sounds good. It is worth its modest price.

Music man for the working man. This guitar plays like a dream. Looks amazing and sounds amazing. Many people will say that it needs dimarzio pickups. However it’s not needed to be honest. The stock pickups are perfect. Price tag on this gem is way fair. The gig bag they provide is actually a good and well padded bag. I look forward to playing this guitar when I get home from work.

So I've been on the fence about a Majesty for a while. The upper horn was kind of a turn off. Until I played ones. My playing got better. This guitar does not fatigue your hands like others can. Nothing against my other JPs, just this guitar KILLS! If you need a Swiss army knife, you need this.

The good: 1st, AMS shipped this super fast.
This guitar is really amazing to play. The neck begs you to play fast. Access to the 24th fret, is amazing! The body is quite comfortable. Tuning is surprisingly stable, even with heavy bar use. All the controls are in perfect spots. The 12db boost is very usable for when you need a little extra for leads. The bad: There are a few frets, that are a little buzzy. The pickups are not very good. This should absolutely come with Dimarzio's at this price. I will be replacing them.
Overall, it's a great guitar that needs better pickups.

Product Review
I've owned a number of Sterling by Music Man's John Petrucci models and I could not wait to get my hands on the Sterling Majesty. I tried the blue Majesty last year but I decided to wait...it was missing something. I'm not sure what that something exactly was...perhaps the fact that it was made in China.
But right out of the box, this new Majesty blew me away! The satin finish looked very professionally done and even the shield was well put together.
I know the pickups aren't the DiMarzio pickups but they sounded very good and similar to the Music Man Majesty. The tremolo is my favorite in that this trem just makes sense. I've loved it in all of the other Petrucci guitars and I love it in this one just as much.

Product Review
Just got my Sterling MAJ100, Came in a nice gig bag with wrenches and truss rod peg. The finish on the guitar is a matte black poly that I've seen on LTD's and Epiphones, the carbon fiber shield on the top is a decal that has been sprayed over, it looks good but I'm a graphics guy and immediately knew the technique when I saw it. The fit and finish are good for this price point, with only a couple of tiny imperfections in the finish. The hardware is very impressive, the locking tuners are tight and smooth with a very useful ratio, the bridge is one of the most impressive features on the MAJ100, it has a smooth feel and stays in surprisingly good tune when set up properly. The pickups have great tone with the bridge being bright with good bark and the neck providing that signature Petrucci tone. The frets had a decent finish ( could use a polish ) and the neck responded perfectly when adjusted ,the only concern was the nut slots were cut a bit off center to the treble side. B+
