For a thousand dollars, I don't expect to have to take an instrument in to have it professional setup. But if I want to keep this, I'll have to put out some more money for it to be fixed up.
This came out of the box with the action high enough to easily put a pencil through. Now I have to find someone who I can trust to fix it or return it, because honestly, it's unplayable.
The quality of the instrument seems good. And I'm quite certain that if I paid for the service, it would be great. But right now, it's not worth the money at all. And I'm pretty unhappy to have to spend more on it.
The sustainiac thing is kind of novel. But since that jumps the price $150 bucks, I do not think it's worth it. I'd get the cheaper model unless you have a use case to constantly make the sort of noise that people generally attempt to avoid.
The hardware is nice. It seems decent quality. The floyd rose is okay. I didn't feel like it really would afford some serious dive bombs without obliterating the tuning. That might just be the strings needing to be stretched out.
All in all, I'm not super happy with this purchase. Big regret.

This was the first floyd rose guitar I've had in probably 20 years. It's so fun to play and the neck/fretwork is unbelievable! It's the first time for me using the sustainiac, so I'm still kinda getting used to it. But so far it's been pretty interesting to play with. 100% would recommend.

I like this guitar because if its lightweight stature. It will need to be set up by a professional. Intonation is a bit off and Floyd Rose Trems are a little tricky.
It does seem just a tad bit muddier than my Schecter CR6.
My CR6 is my go-to and I would place it ahead of this more expensive one.

This thing is a beast. The pickups sound great for all kinds of music, but really find their footing in metal. The floyd rose is well made and fun to play with. The locking nut keeps everything in tune pretty well. The sustainiac is really cool and a blast to play with, but I personally could live without it. It runs through batteries pretty fast, which is kind of irritating. The fretboard feels great and is super easy to play on. Definitely one of my favorite guitars!

Great sound. Amazing to play. Love the pick ups it has. Would definitely recommend to other players. I originally bought this guitar for my boyfriend and he has nonstop played it since I bought it. My little sister wants one and is amazed by the sound it produces. Great guitar for a great price!

This would be it. I'm still learning so I can't fill this review with a bunch of technical jargon but I know enough to see the potential in this guitar as my skills improve. The satin finish black with the bat inlays. I can help but feeling like a bad ass even picking it up. And of course, you can't go wrong with Schecter, no matter your skill level.

I’ve had Les Pauls, SGs, PRS, Fenders. This guitar is hands down, in every way the best guitar I’ve ever played. It’s amazing that Schecter can put so much quality in a guitar for this price. I play rock, metal, pop, country, metal and this axe is capable for anything. Add the sustaniac and the possibilities are endless. Frets are impeccable, body contour, excellent. I’ve played guitar over 40 years. Best guitar I’ve ever had in my hands. Thanks to Schecter and to AMS. Customer for lifer right here.

This guitar is amazing. Fist off, right out if the box the matte black finish is striking and the matte grey-silver bridge and accessories are amazing. Then you plug it in and the sound is, well, ridiculous, in all the right ways. Crunchy, shredded goodness. Then you flip the switch and the sustainiac changes the way you play guitar forever. It's so unique and fun and it works great right out if the box. This is my new go to guitar.

Schecters have always been good to me my favorite besides les Paul's but this one is something special when I unboxed it it was a thing of beauty perfect action,tuned perfectly it even came with batteries the sound is like no other active pickups for me are always better but the Sustainiac adds whole new levels of playing that I couldn't do before. All and all a absolutely wonderful guitar. Also major shout out to AMS for outstanding service and fast shipping

This guitar is very awesome looking with the bat inlays , on top of it feeling great in your hands. For the price you truly Couldn't ask for a better guitar. This thing is loaded with custom pickups and Grover hardware and the emg pick ups sound awesome.
It is my favorite guitar to play out of my collection. I am no professional but this thing makes me sound like one and is very easy to play. The Floyd rose is a super plus because it holds tune well and you can whammy out.
All in all I would recommend this guitar to everybody but a part of me wishes I had the only one. If you don't have one your not living right, so do your self a favor. You will thank me later.

Love this Schecter. A monster for the guitarist that wants to crush your metal soul. Let the sustain bleed new life, endlessly in your earholes. Great quality sounding guitar at an affordable price.it was easy to purchase through AMS payment plan.been with AMS about 20 years.cannot think of a better company to do business with everything is quality.from ordering,shipping,or expediting questions I have.i would love also to say say schecter makes one heck of a good durable guitar.the sustaniac system is awesome,and allows to get the dive bombs and squeals associated with rock music,without having to buy a bunch of expensive expression pedals.it came right out of the box with no setup required.i would definitely recommend schecter guitars,and American musical supply company,as a go to product and musical dealer.

The product is fantastic but upon arrival the guitar is completely out of shape needs to be set up and intonated wich was a huge disappointment to me cause I never dealt with this problem before with you guys. Just wish i knew that before hand otherwise i wouldn't have bothered getting the floyd rose and just would've went for a hardtail.

I just received the Schecter Damien Platinum FR S today.
The guitar is gorgeous but,Even though there is a sticker in the back of the guitar that reads "set up to play" the guitar was not tuned. Took me an hour to get the tuning right.
Overall this is a good guitar (notice that I gave 3 stars to the guitar), the EMG 81 is Loud, and has an ok tone (too bright for my taste) I also have a Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid FR S,and I have to say that the EMG 81 pickup is louder than the EMG 57 in my Schecter Hellraiser Hybrid FR S (which is a good thing), playing this guitar is awesome, ultra fast neck, and very low action (which I love).Also, the guitar is not too heavy (it has a fair weight).
If you are looking for a good guitar in a fair price, and you don't care about the brightness of the pickup, the Schecter Damien Platinum FR S is the guitar for you.
