This did not come in "set up" at all or nearly close to that even. Had I bought it in person, it would be the perfect guitar right off the bat. Called both AMS and Shecter, AMS ships factory sealed and shecter does set them up before shipping to them. The problem is that the guitars go from California, to new jersey (and if you're west coast)then sent to Nevada to be sent to you. Keep in mind the wood also comes from Indonesia, I've gotten a jackson and this guitar from AMS and both have come my way needing a TON of work because they're deemed unplayable the way they come in. So I'd recommend buying from a shop if that's your concern and don't want to bring the guitar into a shop or don't know how to do setup on your own, because they WILL absolutely need a lengthy setup. Other than that the guitar is pretty sick.

Learning a Floyd rose is daunting but ultimately worth the hassle. The neck on this baby is butter smooth and great for shredding or if your like me and use a lot of bar chords its just fantastic and comfy to play.
This beauty isn't just for metal its great for all styles of play. The pick ups get the job done and sound great for the price range. Also a great entry point if you wish to mod and upgrade to some emgs or something later down the line.
One down side I'm not a big fan of the location of the bridge switcher. When playing on anything other then the bridge pick up I tend to accidently hit the switch knocking it off the pick up set up I was playing with.
This is partially due to my style with big sweeping strum patterns but still an annoyance. If the switch and knobs were just like a inch or so lower it would be perfect.

This is the best playing guitar of my collections. I have all major brands and this beats them all. It is so easy to play even bar chords. The tones are very unique and sound great. The only disappointment is the weight, it weighs 8.1 pounds and the body is supposed to be basswood a very light wood. Still, I play it more than any of my other guitars. Setup was perfect out of the box...

I bought my Schecter Demon 6FR 2 months ago. Great craftsmanship on the structure, finish and a wonderful design. The hot pickups are super clean but can be dialed down for the warm meaty feeling for playing things like the blues. A very versatile axe. I am enjoying playing it as when I got it right out of the box it played decently. I only needed to make a slight tweak to the trus and bridge for the action I like and I have it now where it is smooth and fast. I like the feel and although a bit body heavy the balance is still decent. This guitar is built tough and I can see someone using this to tour with as I believe it will hold up well to the abuse of travel and still function as expected. Thank you AMS for offering this product to me with the Rock Star Status financing which made my decision to purchase the Schecter Demon 6FR very easy. I would recommend AMS and Schecter to anyone who asks.

Amazing guitar for the money. The active pickups sound great under heavy distortion. I have 12-56 strings and tuned to drop c and it doesn’t buzz at all. Make sure you can work on a Floyd Rose before you buy otherwise get the regular demon 6

This guitar has an awesome sound for metal. The only thing you must know is that there are certain things you must do in order to tune the guitar but you can easily look it up. Other than that, the guitar is awesome.

This instrument is proof of the fact that you don’t need to spend thousands on a custom shop guitar to get a murderously good instrument. The locking nut and tuners are so good that I didn’t touch it for two weeks while I was writing and recording with the band that I play a strat in and when I picked it up the other day I didn’t even have to tune it. More importantly the active pickups are absolutely gorgeous. You can crank the gain up to 10 and the guitar still produces and beautiful rounded clear tone like no other guitar I’ve played. I had fallen in love with this guitar watching other people on YouTube and other friends play one but no matter how much I worked up the expectations in my head it still blew me away when I received it in the mail. Never have I ever received an instrument that was perfectly set up and ready to shred straight out of the box. Don’t even have words to describe how grateful I am to American Musical Supply. ????????

AMS great service and delivery, received guitar had ding in it AMS took care of. Guitar sounds great. But now know why people love and hate Flyod Rose. Broke 2 strings already, replace and readjust SUX but when done sounds great.

This guitar is by far the best sounding I've heard at this price range it plays amazing it was set up right out of the box only thing I had to do was tune it the action amazing all around great guitar really glad I bought it I would recommend it to anyone
