The strings were sitting on the fret board on this Schecter J-4 Bass when I openned the box "very unplayable". Called AMS and talked with John and he will be sending me a replacement. Very disappointed with the quality assurance at Schecter. Even has a note from Schecter stating ready to play. Really! Will we see if the replacement is worthy and I will update the comment. To bad we can't post pics with the comment.

Strung through the body was a strong selling point for me. But the fact it has the wheel truss rod adjustment is another great feature. The pickups are amazing even though I don’t use the tap much. It’s light and very playable. The only thing I had to get use to is the rounded off pickups, if you’re used to anchoring your thumb on a traditional jazz pickup it takes some getting use to. All and all you get a lot for your money. If you love a jazz bass I consider this a little more refined.
