I love my super shredder. I received it in perfect shape. All I did was adjust the neck. Everything else was perfect. It stays in perfect tune even when I use the Floyd rose! it even came with brand new batteries for the pick ups. ordering from AMS is the way to go. I received tracking updates every day and the delivery was on time. You rock AMS.

Ok so the super shredder is absolutely amazing ebony fretboard hot rod floyd rose whammy EMG Super 77 pick up sounds so awesome and the sustainiak neck pick up is so much fun all together I’d say for the money you can not find a better guitar this thing is Godlike ??

Got this guitar wanting to play something more “church” friendly since my current guitar has a death bat and syn written on the neck. Everything I expect from a schecter and more. The pick up system is really fun to play with and holds notes out forever well for as long as the battery last lol. A definite 9/10 on this guitar, my only complaint is that it’s schecters Floyd rose and not a German made one.

the craftsmanship on the body & neck are top notch
A couple adjustments & some lighter gauge strings, had 10's
I like 9's
The Sustainiac pickup is sweet, beautiful held notes & 2 harmonics options.
when not engaged the pickup has a sweet classic stratty tone.
Actually surpassed my expectations.
Only had it week or so, plan on gigging with it tomorrow night!
My only concern was it came in a box with stuffing only,
(not a triangle box with guitar inside, put in another)
but amazingly, after a fed ex ride was intact with no issues.
Another cool factor is my 100.00 savings for a blemish that is on back & hard to find..Love that!

I’ve been using this guitar to record clean tracks and light distortion parts, which is great, it sounds clear and its been an amazing guitar for that. That being said, I decided to take it with me to rehearsal and it shrieked with high pitch feedback on the bridge and middle pickup selector. The sustainiac pickup doesnt seem to have anything wrong with it, I’ve chenged batteries, taken it to a local guitar tech, there’s nothing disconnected or wrong, I guess its just a faulty pick up. All in all, I’d recommend using it in a recording capacity but not in good conscience recommend for rehearsal or even live play.

This is my 3rd Schecter Sun Valley and as the other two were phenomenal, this one with the maple neck seems to hit the mark! The neck profile is super comfortable and fast! The initial setup was easy, as I got her ready within an hour! Schecter seems to have improved their overall quality control, she actually came out of the box in tune, which is quite uncommon! All in all, this guitar is definitely a keeper! Thanks again Schecter for another great “Super Strat”

I love the EMG and Sustainiac option this guitar has. The neck is fantastic. Floyd Rose is perfect. What's not to like? This guitar has quickly became my number one. And I do own quite a few guitars. I've owned this over a year now and its not going anywhere. If they are still available I would advise you to buy one now. I got the matte black one. Beautiful finish. All are.

The EMG sounds really full. Not a lifeless high volume pickup but a really good full sound. The stainless steel parts on the Floyd Rose is nice. It will take some time adjusting the neck and action. It will also take some time getting use to how the pickups switch on or off depending on if the Sustainer switch is engaged. The neck single coil also has a pleasant tone. I also own the Nick Johnston signature model. I have noticed that these Schecters are a really nice build quality but they do require a bit of tweaking/setup to play their best. It's not the best guitar you can buy in this price range but you also can't buy a Sustainer and have it installed in a guitar for less than you would spend on this guitar. So I give it 5 stars for a combination of looks, playability and features.

Well, the fit & finish are good, it looks well made, but I can't figure out how to get it in tune. This is my first Floyd Rose-equipped guitar, and it will likely be my last. And definitely my last Schecter. There was NO documentation (owner's manual, how to use the Floyd Rose system, warranty information, etc.).

This is my first Schecter, and wow! This thing shreds. I've never been one for active emg pickups, but I was pleasantly surprised.The sustainer pickup is wild, I wanted one for years and this was a great opportunity. You won't regret this purchase the fret work and the fit and finish are amazing. And as always AMS service is amazing.

The guitar is amazing if you get one that has actual been threw quality control. The first thing I noticed is the pickup selector did not work at all. Might as well be a decoration. Second the neck is neck was shimmed. I could literally see the screws. AMS offered to replace it but I need the guitar for a project so im taking to to a luthier to have it fixed. Other than that it is a amazing guitar. I would ask AMS to double check it before they ship it if you buy one. As schecter seems to have a absolute garbage QC department.

First things first. As a long-time Gibson Explorer player, the first thing that struck me about this guitar is the weight. It’s very light, while still having a solid and substantial feel. You still feel like you’re holding a great guitar...without the shoulder and back pain!
The neck is thin and fast. It has a matte finish, but your hand slides on the neck with ease and without the sticky feeling that can sometimes come with a glossy neck. The fretboard is easily accessible and plays remarkably from any position on the neck.
Pickups. This is where the Sun Valley Super Shredder really shines. The bridge pickup, which is an EMG RetroActive is hot without the thinness of most active pickups. The sound is really rich, and you can easily attain any sound that you’re looking for with this pickup. It produces warm cleans, or the crunch that EMG is known for based on the situation and your needs. The neck is of course the Sustainiac, which is what sold me on this guitar. The Sustainiac is a great pickup even with the sustainer turned off, but the three sustainer options really make this guitar complete. It’s really rare to find a Sustainiac in a guitar that costs less than a grand, and even rarer to find someone with the patience to install one themselves. If you’re looking to add a sustainer to your arsenal, and you should be, this guitar has your name all over it.
Build quality. The whole package is extremely tight and very well made. Frets are outstanding, neck is easy, electronics are clean, and the finish is great.
In summary, if you’re even looking at this page and reading reviews for this guitar, you already know that you want it. And you should get it. I promise you won’t regret it!

First of all I dont know how someone gave 1 star. The finishing work is on point and didn't have to touch a thing. Been working and doing setups on guitars for 26 years and actually the first one i didnt have to touch to make it right and it came straight out of the box!
The sustainiac system is killer and the retro active EMG didnt disapoint.
It is heavy but not as heavy as some les Paul's I've played in the past, the hardware is great for the price point especially with the upgraded stainless steel lock bolts for the bridge and nut.
Great guitar and features, I dont regret it.

It has potential but I can’t believe it went through so many hands and came in the condition it was in to me. It was unplayable because of the bridge, nut, or a combination of both making the strings not centered on the fret board. The high e is barely on the fret board. None of the strings are centered on the pickup posts. Honestly I’ve never seen a guitar this badly shifted. For a guitar that retails for 800$ makes it that much worse. No I’m Leary of Schecter and hope it was just a lemon. Time to return it, lame.

I've never bought a guitar without playing it first so I was a little sceptical when I ordered mine through American Music Supply. I recieved it in a timely manner it was boxed very well with no shipping damage anywhere on the box. Pulled the guitar out Immediately loved the color. Birch Green is more neon green without glowing in the dark(which would be cool). Checked the batteries for the sustainer and pickups and both were full charged. Plugged it in and it works perfectly. I play it every Thursday evening and every weekend in church with no problems. Great guitar from a great company(Schecter) bought and shipped from another great company America Music Supply. I've been looking and drooling over their catalogs since I was a kid growing up with a musician Dad that got it in the mail. Couldn't be happier. Will definitely be ordering more from them.

Unfortunately it comes with ernie ball hybrid strings which don't give you the snap this guitar can produce....so i will be replacing the strings with Diaddarios in which give you the snap. Guitar resonates thru the body which is a must for me. The emg retro bridge pickup has that nice early Van Halen, classic rock sound but can also get very heavy if you need it. The sustaniac I once owned in a fernandes... its fun for adding something new to your mix...might change it out and add coil taps to the switches later on.....the guitar is also heavy....good wood on this baby. Floyd rose works very well ...but the angle of the tremelo bar is a little to curved upwards....might do a minor swap. For a strat on steriods this is the one, and the c shaped neck is nice.....a keeper compared to the banshee i sent back the banshee, it was nice, week pickups in the banshee and just felt more like a toy compared to this model

All I expected from Schecter! I have a couple other Schecters. It came in with a couple strings snapped and needed a few adjustments which could be from shipping in winter but once it was set up it's a monster. Plays great with the fastest neck I've played.The sustainiac is awesome and I don't know why more company's aren't making them other than Jackson which start at $2500.
Also I can't say enough about American Musical Supply and their service!! I thought about buying it directly from Schecter but AMS gives you an extra year warranty on top of Schecters. I've purchased over 20 guitars over 30yrs and this is definitely my Favorite!!!

This guitar is so much fun to play! The Retro EMG's sound terrific. The neck is smooth and fast. The tones are amazing, whether you like playing blues or metal. This guitar is a boss. The Sustainiac pick-up is killer! I recommend for any guitarist!
