I bought this hoping for a good guitar. It is a great guitar. Sound is firm and pleasant, sound seems consistent from low end to high end. Action is nice but I had mine set a little lower.

I wasn't too sure about buying the Seagull S6. But, it's nationwide reviews were tremendous and so I ordered. I have to say that I am impressed with this guitar. Out of the 40 I own, this particular guitar, while not standing alone, is certainly becoming a favorite for a few good reasons. The playability is superb. It's fast, smooth, and it sings very nicely, it's voice puts several of my guitars to shame. The build quality is excellent. The machines are smooth and the guitar holds tune well. The woods used are beautiful, and although in many ways it would be considered a somewhat plain guitar, the clean lines and the finish only add to its aesthetics. I do not recommend many guitar makers, but I certainly recommend this one. For the price, this is a very nice guitar, and it's a keeper.

The S6 is my first Seagull, I was surprised by the Quality of its construction and even more so by its sound and projection! As my other guitars are Martins and Gibson's I can say the S6 can hold its own in Sound,Quality and Playability at an Affordable price! ?????

I am a beginner and have been looking at Seagull C6 Acoustic Guitars for a few years. I wanted to get something that would be easy to play and have quality product for my budget. I read tons of reviews. Not just here. Many reviews raved about this guitar. I was amazed how fabulously packed this BEAUTIFUL guitar was packaged and sent. Fast shipment. Awesome payment plan, and best of all..I took it to my Grand daughter, an accomplished singer and guitar player who has a high end guitar. She was amazed at it's sound and ease to play. She told me I was going to have alot of fun with it. It sure sounds sweet. I could not be happier!

First off, the shipping from AMS was amazing. They really know how to keep guitars safe in transit so big shout out there. What really matters here is the guitar which right out of the box I noticed the quality of service card signed individually by each member of the Seagull team in Canada responsible for putting the guitar together with the date that their part was done on. This was hand signed/dated so right out of the gate you know you are getting something truly amazing, you really don't get quality like that anymore. The guitar itself is perfectly balanced in terms of it's weight, it's not too heavy but not too light and feels great when holding it. The tone absolutely blows me away. My favorite guitar has been my Taylor 214ce and this is extremely comparable, I still cannot believe it is only $600. Moving on, the fretboard is very nice and the guitar strap pins are perfectly placed. The sound is just amazing, it's warm, yet bright. All in all this guitar is amazing.

I am comparing my S6 to my Taylor 114ce. The first thing I noticed is that it sounds close to my Taylor. It has a kind of warm tone but brighter at the same time. My S6 does not have as focused or detailed sound as my Taylor but it is close. It's true that the strings you choose will somewhat change how any guitar sounds and I have not changed the strings on it yet. I usually go through several different sets of strings to find what works well for me so this is important to keep in mind with acoustic guitars. Anyone will be very happy with this guitar, It records very nicely with both ribbon and large condenser mic's. So far I recorded this guitar using a SE Electronics ribbon VR1 and my Warm audio WA14. You will be very happy.

I purchased my Seagull S6 Original about 14 years ago, and it is one of the top investments I've ever made in a musical instrument. The S6 isn't "flashy" or loaded with frills. However, it is among the best values for a high quality instrument available today. My best friend has been playing professionally for years (we started a band back during the "English invasion" days of the 1960s). During a visit he brought along a solid wood Martin dreadnaught (all mahogany if my memory serves me well). We played his Martin and my Seagull S6 for hours, and at the conclusion of our "test session" we came to the same opinion: the S6 blew the Martin out of the water.
The S6 Seagull has a booming bass, wonderful sustain in the midrange, and impeccable highs. Whether strumming or fingerpicking, the S6 responds beautifully to the player's touch. I couldn't be more pleased with this instrument. A great value, it retains a high standing among my 20 plus instruments.
