These are the best headphone's I've ever bought! Comfort is great, I could wear theses for hours. Clarity is Awesome and shuts out background noise. Now I can crank up my 5150 all the way without bothering the neighbors. Also, they are built tough! If anything happens to these I'd buy 'em again. Highly recommend.

They are still a very good set of headphones, but the original Sennheiser hd 280 has a superior speaker. That speaker presented the low end of the mix much better than anything I have heard from any manufacturer since. I hope they go back to the 2009 transducer.

When I made the move to purchase this gear I had no idea what a difference that they would make. Previous to receiving my 280 Pro headphones I had been using just the standard pair of inside the ear plugs and they seem to be all right at the time. But, as with a lot of things in life, you want to see what's out there, what's better. Well I'm sure glad I did because I could not believe the difference. I was blown away. Now I compare sitting behind my kit with my 280 pros on drumming to on my Harley-Davidson riding. You're so tuned in to what you're doing that you don't think of anything else but what's in front of you. That's what these headphones do for me. I've had any number of headphones over the years, and I have a tendancy to...by quite rough with them unintentionally. Despite my best efforts, that remains true to this day, this set included. I've dropped them on the floor, gotten tangled in the cord, even run the cord over with my chair...and its endured through it all. The plastic doesn't feel cheep, the cable is durable, and the ear cups are like marshmallows over my ears with a brilliant sound quality. They have ample highs and lows, with really good bass, making them an excellent selection for music or studio use. My one gripe is that I wish I could make them just a bit tighter around my fat head, since they have a tendancy to slip off if I look up too fast and lean back in my seat...which I tend to do quite a bit. Other than that. I absolutely adore these headphones.

I have always been a fan of Sennheiser, so I had gotten one of this when I had gotten serious for recording back in the years and then I got serious with podcast, so I bought another one of the HD280 Pros. This is worth every penny and very affordable. The clarity of audio is very good, clear and detailed for being a closed back headphone. While recording they do a great job of blocking out other exterior sound.
I am totally satisfied that's why I bought another one. I would highly recommend this if you were looking for clarity and detail for a low budget.

I bought these headphones after getting serious about studio recording and these are the icing on the cake. My keyboards,bass, guitar tracks and vocals sound better than ever with so much clarity! The low end for bass and piano tracks is phenomenal and I can really dial in mixes to perfection now. Someone brought these into my studio once and highly recommended them. Just bought 6 to have in studio for people to use when recording. They have a nice balanced sound perfect for live tracking your recording. Sound is evenly balanced. The sit perfectly and cozy on your head. And they don’t feel tight or squeeze your head for orange juice.
Not recommended for mixing.

This is my third pair of Sennheiser headphones. "Back in the day" I bought a pair of HD414 and still use them today. They're light and airy and sound great. But as a musician, I needed a closed-back pair for recording and mixing. I've owned more expensive Sony cans, and these more than hold their own against those. Clear, powerful bass without being boomy, mids that aren't muddy like some lower-priced headphones, and enough highs for the sort of work I do, which employs mostly acoustic or semi-hollow body guitars. Not sparkly, but flat and realistic. Highly recommended for home studio musicians.

I own a few headphones but this one right here by far is one of the best headphones I've ever came across specially for mixing I was really surprised of the sound the clarity that I got from the HD 280Pro by sennheiser
Was amazing but it doesn't end there it's well built and most of the people I record rather use my 280 pro when recording there vocals as well so I'm going to need to buy myself a second pair but don't just take my word for it buy one and see for yourself you'll find yourself not being able to work without it.

Based on some research I did, these kept coming up as the best value for low cost studio headphones. I would very much agree with that. From what I have used them for which has been mostly playing and recording guitar, the sound seems very neutral, which is what you would want for studio headphones. The noise reduction is good and pretty much what I expected from this style. I haven't warn them for more than about an hour at a time but comfort seems very good, even with glasses on. I do get some sweating issues but again, that is to be expected with this style. Overall, I am very happy with these.

I like this headphone a lot, because I hear all the instruments playing in songs. It wraps around my ears very well, and cancels all other sounds. In fact, I bought a whole three of them. I use two, and gave one as a gift. I used one pair so much, the vinyl around the sponge started stripping. That's the only thing bad about that pair, though I've had them for a while and still use them often.
If I need to purchase another headphone, you bet I will be getting another pair of these Sennheiser HD 280 Pro.

I bought these because my previous pair’s head piece cosmetically cracked after 25 years and plenty of use. They sound true (don’t color the sound) and don’t bleed through when recording which is why they are considered a studio standard and why I replaced my previous pair with the same thing.

Unfortunately, if your looking for to hear a wide range of frequency, and clarity, this isn’t the product. The look and feel of the headphones are good, but the sound is very mid driven. If you are a sound junkie...pass. If you just need an extra set of studio headphones, it’s not the best, but it will do.

I purchased a different set of headphones to replace them although it was recommended that pair of headphones didn’t meet the standards of the HD280’s. The Sennheiser HD 280 Pros have an excellent sound and are fantastic to mix with. I have a big head and these things adjust to size and they’re incredibly comfortable.

Well, here we go again. Let’s just get one thing out of the way. I know I’m not going to win anything here for taking the time to write this review. Mainly, I’m doing this just to be able to say that. There, now that we have that straight, let’s proceed with my thoughts on these headphones. Some of the best I’ve ever used. They seem well built, I mean the cable alone gives me confidence that they will last a while. It’s a thick cable with a coiled section that makes them easy to store. They aren’t heavy, but they don’t feel like a toy. They are relatively comfortable. I mean they don’t feel like a teddy bear is hugging your head, but very quickly you forget you’re wearing them. They aren’t low profile, but really aren’t meant to be. The sound is really good, maybe even excellent. For recreational listening they are very balanced. Not too bass heavy, but definitely not anemic sounding. The higher frequencies are pristine but not overpowering. For recording, these could be a really Important part of the mixing process. Nuances in music and video footage aren’t hard to detect, but they stay present, not distracting. Depending on how much cabbage you have, you might have an issue with the price. How good could they be for only $80. Or, $80?! How good could they be?! $80 for these headphones is a good and fair price. I do not think you will be disappointed. Buy them!

Just bought my second HD280 after more than probably 8 years of getting my first pair. Still works great just needed to make sure I got another backup for a fair price. I know there are the so called HI END options but at this point in time I do not want to spend more than a hundred on headphones. Take my word, this is a great product and if taken care, will go for years and years. Great piece of gear!

These headphones are pretty good. I use them to listen to music during my writing sessions. They do keep the outside noise down quite a bit. The only negative thing I have to say is they lack depth of sound. Each sound in the song isn’t well pronounced in this product but for the price, they are pretty solid.

The fit is OK. I don't have a large head but, staying fit if you move around does get a little bothersome. I have had Pioneer different DJ model's & have had problems with the swivel at the cups breaking. The last pair I had were the Shure DJ I think 750? I wish I just got those because you got a bag, & extra cups. Very slight differences in sound across all 3 brands. BTW I've owned both Pioneer DJ models from the $150-$350 one's.

Really impressed with these headphones! I am Hard of Hearing due to years of over-exposure and nerve issues, and playing music is quite difficult with ambient sound. These headphones isolate well enough that I am able to hear all of the dynamics with no issues like feedback or discomfort. They also aren't too heavy or awkward, and can be worn for long periods of time without concern... definitely recommend this product.

Honestly they are comfortable and have decent sound my main issue is the nice long cord that has such tight coils that it makes a 10ft cord more like 3 feet and you gotta anchor it or it will jerk your gear off a desk then on the other hand the stress of any pull seems too much for the termination points . I would buy these again ifnthe cord was longer or the coils were 3 times softer but as they are i dont really like em so much. Sorry.

I have been recording/mixing with the Sennheiser 280 Pro’s since 2011 and they are “tried and true” in my book! From recording to mixing the range of sound is consistent over each mix/recording opportunity. It is a TRUE closed back design with no sound leakage as well. I also rely on the 280’s when cross-referencing mixes, songs, etc. No too heavy on the low end the mid/high end frequencies are true to experience across the board. My old ones are just beat up (and they caaann take a beating if one should occur, lol) and after 8 years of use my left speaker went out so I HAD to purchase another pair, lol! I will ALWAYS keep a pair of these during my recording career!
