The perfect Les Paul neck pick-up

Product Rating Very well made pick-up...like all SD products. I have never had a SD pick-up fail or degrade in tone over time. They just keep delivering inspiration day after day. Your general opinion of this product. I have this installed in the neck position of my Gibson Les Paul Classic. One reviewer said that "you Les Paul owners will think that you have died and gone to heaven"! He is exactly right. This is the perfect pick-up for the neck of any Les Paul. The stock Gibson pick-up was dark and muddy. This pick-up fixed that problem immediately. I also have a SD EVH 78 custom shop pick-up in the bridge of this guitar. The Alnico II in the neck allows me to play jazz to hard rock tones and a flip to the bridge pick-up will ignite a harmonically rich solo tone. The perfect pick-up set. The Alnico II responds very well to adjustments of the tone control and is overall much clearer. Playing chords through a Marshall JCM 900 DSL half stack produces strong well defined bass notes with clear, crisp and sparkling highs. Backing off on the volume control will really clean up the tone also. Goes from Slash to George Benson and back. The Alnico II is open coil double black bobbins just like the stock pick-up in my LP Classic. I like that my guitar looks just like the factory standard model. I sure sounds a lot better though. The workmanship was first rate. I installed this in about an hour without any difficulty. The directions are clear and easy to understand.

Sweet, warm and punchy sound

Your general opinion of this product. I've used this pickup in the neck position of my Carvin DC127 for two years now. It's probably the best sounding neck position pickup you can buy. I've tried nearly all of them, so I can say that objectively. You can get really sweet clean tones and warm, smooth overdrive in one pickup with the Alnico II Pro. You Les Paul players will think you've died and gone to tone heaven if you trade the stock Gibson pickups with these Seymour Duncan beauties...

Your general opinion of this product.

QUALITY:
Very well made, wax potted, coils well protected from the occaisional stray E-string getting caught under the top edge.

FEATURES:
Tone is big and warm. In a Mahogany/,aple cap guitar, there is still just enough high end to keep things from getting woofy. In single coil mode, it becomes crisp with the warmth retained underneath. In either single coil or humbucker mode, it get's "that" tone with overdrive and distortion. Great dynamics, especially if you're a "touch" player. Set your gain up to just below "edge of breakup" and your picking pressure should push it over the top.

EASE OF USE:
Duncan's standard wiring instructions (green to ground/black to hot) gives you the inside" coil (lugs) when wired for single coil use (nice neck tone with just a hint of midrange "spank"). If you'd rather use the "outer" coil (adjustable screws) you must reverse the wiring (black to ground/ green to hot). A little note added to the direc
