I'm a pro guitarist who occasionally plays bass on a lot of demos. Most of the money I usually spend is on guitars but someone gave me a Fender Precision that needed new pups. I put these on and they are great. Clean powerful and quiet.

I replaced the P-Bass pickup in my Jag bass. It just seemed weak. I recorded a bass line in Reaper with the stock pickup, and then recorded with the exact same settings with this new Seymour Duncan pickup, and the difference was really noticeable. The SPB-3 had much more power, and it had more aggressiveness in tone, and it seemed less muddy. I play mainly blues rock kind of stuff and I think it really improved the sound of my Jag bass for my genre of music. Remove the pickguard, take out the old pickup, solder 2 wires of the new one and your done. 20 minutes.

AMS has this shipped two me within two days of purchasing. Had it professionally installed the next day. The difference in my tone in my mexican P bass is night and day. More defined low end, and attack. Strongly recommend for an easy upgrade.

Two stars because of quality control problems, negative lead wire fell off the pickup when installing, had to solder back on, the same happen with the bridge jazz 1/4 pound. Pup sounds good for now ,just hope it stays together. Never had problems with SD pickups before. Wrote SD and let them know what hppened

I have this pickup installed in a Yamaha RBX460 that I converted to fretless.
Outstanding quality. This is SD Basslines, after all. :)
I'm not an electronics, wires, soldering kind of guy. I know people who are, though. The installation of this pickup was complete within 15-20 minutes.
Well, its a replacement P... Not a lot of features...
High output, thick and wooly, high end clarity. Great sounding pickup.
Super value. If you have a P-style pickup in any of your basses, replace them all with this pickup.

Maybe he prefers 'active' sterile sounding bass p/ups, who knows...I'm makin' sure that this pick-up gets some props and the over-all rating will go up.
