I mean I haven’t played anything more expensive and I feel like with this, I don’t need to.
Compression and Attack are your usual controls for a pedal like this. Blend is always a must for bass, especially as for me this is an always on pedal, and adding in some unaffected signal just sounds better. The mid/flat/low switch really helps dial in the sound without needing an extra knob. The level knob is also nice as some pedals will cut your volume slightly while compressing.

Great transparent bass compressor

The Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor is one of, if not the, most transparent bass compressor I have ever used. Running an Atelier-Z bass with 18V Bartolini preamp into a Traynor DB800H with 115 and 210 cabs, it tamed the extremely strong signal from the bass and evened out the balance between the low-E and high-D and high-G strings. In short, it took a good sound with some punch and made it a great sound that really kicks you in the chest. Well done, Seymour Duncan!
Personally, my settings are relatively close to the sample setting in the owner's manual called "light compression." I have the Level at about 1 o'clock, the Blend at zero (i.e. all the way counter-clockwise), the Attack and Compression knobs both at 9 o'clock. Since I'm not mixing in any of the dry signal, the Mid/F/Low switch isn't active, so I can't comment on the usefulness of that feature.
Overall, this is now my favorite pedal compressor that I've ever used. I have had a few others, most notably a DOD Milk Box, that served me long and well. But, it colored the sound of my bass A LOT. The Seymour Duncan Studio Bass Compressor doesn't alter my sound in any discernable fashion. It just smooths things out, provides greater balance between the thick and thin strings, and increases the bass's overall punchiness.
I highly recommend this compressor. It does what it supposed to do without any unnecessary bells and whistles. It just makes my bass sound great. What more could you possibly ask for?

I got this for my Schecter Daniel Firth 5 string, running it through a Peavy Max300. Sound is tight and responsive. Just what I wanted.

This is a great compressor pedal! It's very natural sounding to my ears. I really like the Blend knob, in tandem with the toggle switch. I highly recommend it!

It does exactly what I got it for. Levels out the higher end of my bass especially when slapping. I highly recommend it.
