I bought console 1 because of the SSL 9k plugin but what I truly love about it is the control of plugins. It changed my workflow and allows me to hone in on my mixing a lot faster. It truly is worth its weight in gold.

Console 1 makes mixing a musical part of the process. It feels more like a instrument. There is an immediate connection between your ears and hands as you turn knobs. My mixes are better for it. This explains the sound coming out of studios in the analog days. With this, they are back! It ships with the SSL4000E! Let me tell you. I purchased as couple other consoles that Console 1 offers. You’ll get the best sound from the 4000E!

I didn't wind up keeping it, just because I still liked using the mouse in combination with the fader port 16. But If you love tactile feel this is a no brainer. Thoroughly enjoyed the different consoles and it made me mix quicker and simpler and I didn't over think my decisions.

I got this(Bought Console 1 & Fader together), because working ITB with a mouse and keyboard sucks for me. Kills my creative flow every time I to have to reach for the mouse to open a plugin submenu.
Console 1 is billed as an ecosystem, with the ability to use the excellent included SSL 4000E console emulation as your recording desk, or to create custom channel strips using either Softube's emus or Universal Audio plugins....
Does it work? Resoundingly, yes. I'm using Console 1 channel strips throughout my productions. Easy peasy to adjust an eq curve, dial up compression, add saturation, or shape a track. It took about 2 weeks for my muscle memory to develop. Now tracking and mixing a breeze, with everything controlled by Console 1 and fully automated faders, pans ,etc. with Fader.

One of the best investments I've made in the past few years. The Console 1 has taken my workflow to new heights in just a short span of a month and a half. Not only am I spending less time in achieving better mixes, but I'm also getting a sound I've been dreaming about for years. There's a certain connection with analog that becomes lost with just a keyboard and mouse, but the Console 1 recaptures this feeling in a modern analog to digital world!

I'm from the cusp of analog (SSL boards) to digital (Pro Tools, mouse, and a keyboard) days. I miss the old-school professional sound quality and I definitely miss the knobs/faders. If you're old school like me, do NOT hesitate to get this. You'll wish you had done it sooner.

Over all I love the softube console 1. Software install was easy. Set up my account for both Softube and iLok. You need to place the softube plugin on each channel you want to use on, but with that said it works flawless.
The analog feel brings back memories from mixing on old equipment but has extreme accuracy when making adjustment with eq, compressor etc.
This not only speeds up my mixing but streamlines my workflow.
I am definitely going to get the softube's fader control to replace my current DAW controller.

As a person who grew up in the analog world, mixing in the box was always a bit unappealing to me from a tactile point using a mouse. With the Console 1 and Fader, I can now maximize not only the outstanding Softube plugins, but my Universal Audio investment has now been taken to a whole other level. Outstanding!

I have a home studio and purchased this mainly to edit the sound of my hardware synthesizers and VSTs realtime. It is wonderful that I can get the best sounding while listening to the sound with real-time parameters change. It is designed for mixing and mastering but it works great for me for sound design/quality improvement. Once it is installed, it starts working automatically without setting up the device on my DAW. It is super easy changing console programs by pushing hardware buttons. I have American class A, SSL4000(included), SSL XL9000k, British A class A console. My favorite console is SSL XL9000k. Only my complaint is that EQ is not precise and powerful. I use fabfilter EQ plugin as addon instead. Other complaint is that it is a bit pricy and that you have to pay extra money to buy other consoles. Good thing is that you can do those consoles as free-trial for 20 days from softube website. it opens up new level in my music production.

I feel like I am mixing with my ears again and it sounds great and feels even better. the ssl emulation sounds great to my ears and American class a sounds great too. I have had this for few months and I use it on every mix. I also own an Apollo twin and Apollo central is better than I could have imagined great combo. I love everything about this product from softube. If love mixing with your ears and feeling your way through eq with knobs this is a no brainer get it great price also.

Just purchased a few days ago, and this thing is fantastic right out of the box.Registered on Softube account and lo and behold a second console strip (British Class A) is there for downloading as part of the deal. Plugged the unit in (USB) and went to straight to work.40 tracks and every one had Console 1 on it and no noticeable cpu issues. workflow enhanced greatly and it sounds great.

This device along will blow you away with the functionality. If your in the box there is not a better device to control world class plugins. As my workflow is Presonus 4.6, Apollo Twin. This Little Sweetie merges perfectly between the two with access to award winning Softube, Universal Audio plugin control. And works perfectly with Studio One. I was debating on purchasing this for some time due to past equipment just collecting dust. Softube Console 1 had increased my workflow tremendously! I use it in Logic Pro and Studio One and I haven't had any issues. It works great with the Console Fader as well (if you were wondering). I give it a 10 out of 10. Definitely worth it!

Console 1 has very nice feel to it, that says quality all the way. I'm totally awed by the near seamless integration with Apollo's console software and the ability to control and tweak in real time just about any of UA's unison powered plug ins while tracking. But wait, that's just the icing on the cake, the real value of Console 1 comes when you get down to mixing a project. Think of Console 1 as 3 tools in one, one as a mate and control surface for Apollo's console, two as a plugin controller for Console 1 enabled plugins made by Softube and UA of which there is a boatload, and three as the Command Central helm for the included Softube model of Solid State Logic's SL 4000 E, or one of three other channel strips made by Softube for use with Console 1. With the Console 1 plugin loaded across all the tracks in your project, mixing is now a hands on by ear and sound experience, instead of a visual one while working "in the box". Honestly Console 1 is a must have for DAW based studios, simply because it takes the focus off mouse and screen while mixing, and puts it back where it belongs...how it sounds and feels.

This machine is a beast! I'm beyond happy about my purchase. I'm ole school! I've been an artist for over 40 years, I've been on the digital train for about 15 plus years. It took me a while to make the transition to digital. I'm a analog man in a digital world. I figured if you cant beat them join them! this allows me to get that old feeling back! How else can one own an SSL E 4000 For under $1,000.00. Answer: The softube console 1 mk II , WOW Is all I can say and I couldn’t wait to get this hardware in my studio. I originally purchased the Softube Console 1, to regain the functionality, of being able to turn multiple knobs simultaneously and make adjustments by feel, like on a large format console, while having the flexibility of working ITB/In the box, with UAD software plugins, and to have access to their SSL XL9000K emulation.
The fact that in addition to mixing, you can also use it for tracking with UAD plugins and Apollo Central, and access all the parameters of the plugins, with Console 1, is an absolute game changer!!!

This is one of the coolest pieces of gear I have ever had the pleasure of acquiring! It’s nice to be able to have an awesome SSL emulation (can’t wait to get other models) and the opportunity to adjust and activate parameters with the hardware unit. Loving it! Having console one really saves me so much time. I can even use it with all my UA plug-ins. It really helps with the work flow. Having a channel instantly accessible to tweak is just so much nicer than having to mouse around. Construction is of quality this feels like it would last me a lifetime. I've had been looking at purchasing the Softube Console 1 MKII Control Surface for nearly one year. Finally made the decision to purchase, and it's been a game changer.
Working in the digital world had worked out fairly decent for me. However, my mixes lacked color, depth, width, harmonics, among other things. This was a on going struggle for me in the digital world, until now.
The Softube Console 1 MKII Control Surface makes me feel more at home, like the old days in the analog world. Now, I'm able to achieve mixes which are warm, colored, harmonic rich, with width and depth. They also pass for mixes that were done on a analog console, as well.
Overall, the Softube Console 1 MKII Control Surface is quite easy to use. It's also built like a tank, very well constructed, I'd say. Purchasing this unit, was one of the best decisions I've made.

Mixing has always been my least favorite part of being a musician. Not any more!!! I use a behringer x32 as an interface and controler but it just felt incomplete. With the console one I feel like I'm sitting behind a console with a real channel stip. The installation was painless and the in DAW setup was a breeze. This thing is built like a tank, the knobs and buttons feel amazing, and the display is great. With the American Music Supply payment plan, there is no reason not to get one today

First off the build on this is really great. It has a substantial feel of quality and is very well built. I use it with Logic Pro X and it is so much better than having to grab for the mouse or using my fat fingers and triggering the wrong button on my Slate MTI2. For me this is just a much better mixing process. I NEED THE KNOBS! And I've already reached out to Softube support and they are AWESOME! Quick response and the right response that got me back up in quick fashion! So thanks AMS for great products backed up by great service. If you are on the fence on the Softube Console 1 you won't regret it! This is a game changer for me!!
