I love playing banjo but don't love trying to stand in front of an instrument mic. I have never found a banjo pickup that has a true acoustic sound. I saw this mic on the AMS website and figured it might work. When it arrived the clip was actually larger than it seemed in the photo and would not clip onto the banjo bracket, but it did clip onto the bakelite rim of my Gold Tone banjo. Plugging it it (with phantom power) I was able to position it so it doesn't get in the way of playing while it does an excellent job of amplifying the banjo. I have an online gig coming up in a couple of weeks and am glad that I'll be able to play banjo on a few tunes. Next I want to see if I can find a way to clamp it on a resonator guitar...
